Lantern Lodge

Partial cover, either behind the railing or boots on the deck, is the best available.

The Wormwood is closing on the Man's promise at 30' per round; The Wormwood will be alongside in four rounds

Male Human Cleric 4

OK We will maintain partial cover for two rounds,

Round Three Sandra casts Instant Armor, still on cover.

Round four Sandra casts Copycat and I cast Summon Monster II

A Grig which I will command to play the 'fiddle' to
distract the opponents on the aft of the Mans Promise.

Making sure its far enough away from us to not effect us.

Cog will throw the grapple into the area where two or more are dancing.

Lantern Lodge

Boarding of the Man's Promise
Round 2

The ships begin the round 90' apart, with the Man's Promise ahead and slightly to starboard.

Ballista fire continues. Random crossbow bolts come out of the fog, but all bolts miss teh ship.

The rest of the Wormwood's crew figure out if they don't fire at Man's Promise, there isn't any return fire.

Longfarthing continues to cast spells. With the Man's Promise being over 100' long, he is unable to cover the entire ship in one casting, but seems to be working from a pre-defined pattern. After fogging the stern, he fogs the masts and crows nest then works forward on the deck.

Everyone holds their actions.

Male Human Cleric 4

Continuing to hold action on the stern also.

Lantern Lodge

Boarding of the Man's Promise
Round 3

The ships begin the round 60' apart, with the Man's Promise ahead and slightly to starboard.

Sanadara casts instant armor.

A single loud voice calls out from Man's Promise "Prepare to repel borders!" In response, scores of voices cry out in unison "Repel boarders, aye!"

There is scurrying noises inside the fog. Septa notes that the ballista fire has stopped.

Lantern Lodge

Boarding of the Man's Promise
Round 4

The ships begin the round 60' apart, with the Man's Promise ahead and starboard.

Lantern Lodge

Boarding of the Man's Promise
Round 5

The ships begin the round 30' apart, with the Man's Promise coming to starboard.

The Wormwood enters the fog cloud around the Man's Promise. Anything beyond 5' now has full concealment.

Below on the main deck, Captain Harrigan shouts "Gold for those who do their part!"

Septa hears bow, crossbow and several pistols shots from forward and starboard, as well as the grunting as grappling hooks are thrown across from the main deck.

Though he can not see it, he feels the lurching of the ship as the ropes from the grappling hooks come tight and the Wormwood suddenly pulls hard starboard and strikes the Man's Promise. With the curve of the hulls, though the hulls touch, there is still a five foot gap between the railings of the two ships. Both ships continue to move along at their top speed, bound together.

Screams. Combat. Confusion.

Five feet away, two Rahadoum soldiers -- not merchants or mercenaries, but highly trained uniformed military -- look across the foggy gap.

Action for Sandara

Male Human Cleric 4

Sandra casts Copycat as a move action and throws a Grappling hook.

Throw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human Cleric 4

On his turn Septa will cast Enthrall instead of Summ Mons 2 as per other discussion. DC 16

Lantern Lodge

The grappling hook catches hold of the Man's Promise Railing. Sandara quickly pulls the rope tight and lashes her end to a cleat.

AC 5 to "hit" (ie. attach hook) railing, with a 5' range increment

The Rahadoumi soldier closest to the railing drops his crossbow, draws his short sword, and strikes at the rope, attempting to cut it.

He manages to hit the rope awkwardly, not doing any damage to it.

Actions for Septa, then Cog?

Male Human Cleric 4

Cast Enthrall on the two soldiers on the ship, he will sing about the brave defense of a Rahadoum fort on their borders. DC 16

Cog will go across Sandras rope as far as possible to not encourage a Aoo and land and attack a member that is not Enthralled 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19. Damage if hit: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

If they are both Enthralled Cog will attacks the one in front and add his Sneak Attack Damage. 1d6 ⇒ 6

Lantern Lodge

rahadoum1 will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
rahadpum2 will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Both soldiers stare blankly, completely engrossed in Septa's song of Rahadoumi heroism.

Cog drops over the side, makes one long lunge across the rope and comes up on top the railing, in front of the Rahadoumi soldiers. Cog is off balanced from standing in such a precarious position, but the Rahadoumi is more interested in listening to Septa than attacking.

Cog cuts deeply into the throat of the soldier in front with his cutlass, the man sags to the ground. Cog hops off the railing to face the second soldier.

You have the first team member onboard!!!

Male Human Cleric 4

Realized our job is to clear the Sterncastle we will head up the close stairs to the ballista deck.

Hopefully clearing the stairs to stand on the deck. Is that a full move or move action to that point? (if we make it that far)

Cog points out that a double hackbutt mounted on a carriage, which can be described as a very large blunderbuss or a very small cannon, something like a real world 1 pounder or deck gun, has been dragged up to the railing on the sterncastle.

Additionally, Septa sees at the foot of the staircase Fishguts the Cook is fighting a Rahadoumi Soldier with a grappling iron; the Rahadoumi soldier has been impaled in the sholder and is struggling to pull free as Fishguts reels him in.

Male Human Cleric 4

Septa will reach out with his shield arm and hold Sandra back.
"After me" he whispers. Sandra will Hold Action

Shouting "Besmara and Wormwood" he drops his shield arm down in front of Sandra and raises his raper hand.

He then swings his rapier in a wide arc forward and down, joining with the shield and then takes a step in front of Sandra, between her and the swordsman. No map here. AA7?.

While moving he brings up his shield and sword half way up his body on the left side in a defensive position and then swoops the weapon and shield gracefully to the right, giving himself a bit of defense from the swordsman then attempting to surprise he continues with his body and attempts a Bull Rush of the crossbowman on the rails in AB8.

Reading the rules it appears I only need one attack roll against his CMD. Adding BAB and Dex bonus (Agile Maneuvers) and taking one away for different height.

Bull Rush: 1d20 + 2 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 2 - 1 = 20

Will wait to post Sandra's action after their held actions and the one AOO. Also If I recall correctly, I will not follow the crossbowman more than 5 feet, I don't want to follow him into the water with a Bulls Rush

Lantern Lodge

Septa charges up the stairs, but the Rahadoum soldier on the railing fires his crossbow instantly as Septa's foot first treads on the first step.

rahadoum7 to hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
rahadoum7 damage if hit: 1d10 ⇒ 9

As Septa continues up the staircase, the soldier at the top swings with his short sword.

rahadoum3 to hit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
rahadoum3 damage if hit: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Assuming Septa does not succumb to his wounds...

Septa plows into the soldier on the railing, his attempts to ward Septa away with his unloaded crossbow ineffectual, and topples him into the water.

Septa turns to face the soldier next to him, as Sandara and Cog begin to act.

Male Human Cleric 4

Septa has AC17, 4 for Chain Shirt, 2 for Dex and 1 for Small Shield, WHEW!!

Sandra casts Create Water, (6 Gallons) over the best area to disrupt the loading process, wetting the powder, primer cord and smothering the lit fuse.

She then moves with her Copycat and stops on both of the steps of the stairs, blocked by Septa and the Short Sword Solider. AA7-8?

Lantern Lodge

The water soaks the touch hole and the backside of the hackbutt.

The Rahadoumi soldier, still recovering from his swing at Septa, begins to turn to face Sandara.

Longfarthing AC12

Right as Sandara is about to act, the fog around the stern castle, suddenly dissipates as the spell which summoned it expires. The remainder of the ship forward of column W is still shrouded in fog.

Back on board the Wormwood, Master Longfarthing appears to be reading from a scroll, casting some unknown spell.

Out of the corner of his eye, Septa sees the Captain on the main deck, with Narwhale the dwarf. The dwarf has a boarding axe in hand and is apparently trying to cut open the door leading below the aft deck at Y5. The Captain stands behind him , urging him to work faster with a series of colorful epitheths. Behind the Captain, a Rahadoumi soldier, wearin g the notable pointed helmet and golden turban of an officer, steps out of the fog. The Rahadoumi officer has been apparently mortally wounded, but advances on the Captain with a glowing sword raised overhead. The Captain and Narwhale are unaware of the Rahadoumi Officer.

To Hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Yelling "CAPTAIN".

Lantern Lodge

The soldier in front of Sandara dodges back as her slice misses.

Septa expertly fends off his opponents with his rapier in his right hand, while making mystical gestures with his left, a sharp rod of ice flying from his left hand, the ice impaling the Rahadoumi officer in the forehead as Septa shouts a warning to Captain Harrigan.

The Captain looks up, making eye contact with Septa, following his gaze he turns to see the Rahadoumi officer collapse face forward onto the deck. Captain Harrigan turns back towards Septa and nods his head in acknowledgement.

Back on the Wormwood, Mr Longfarthing completes his spell and once again the Aft Deck and Sterncastle are enshrouded in fog.

In the fog, the Rahadoumi soldiers attack, one at Sandara and two trying to kill Septa.

Sandara's opponent moves suddenly back in after her miss, skewering her deeply with his short sword in her lower left abdomen.

Are Sandara and Septa still up?

Cog can see that the final Rahadoumi soldier, unable to find a spot to attack the Wormwood borders without descending from the stern castle, remains where he is, standing at the top of the starboard staircase, ready to strike at anyone who assends it.

Septa is missed, AC 17. You need to roll miss chance for Sandra, as she has her Copy Cat up, 50/50 chance.

Cog will 'five foot step' with a climb roll to AB6 to flank the Rahadoum solider #6 at AB7.

The Rahadoumi soldier grins, thinking he has skewered Sandara, but his expression changes as he sees the copycat disappear.

The two soldiers facing Septa grin, thinking that they have the Besmaran cleric cornered, when he turns and shows that their blows merely passed through his garmets.

Even with the increased difficulty of attacking upward, Cog gets a clean hit on the Rahadoumi soldier's calf. Apparently hitting an artery, blood gushes and the soldier collapses.

Action Sandara and Septa

Male Human Cleric 4

Sandra stepping over bodies and pushing the cannonade aside moves: AB6 - AB5 - AB4 and prepares to strike at the last wounded solider prone on the ground, but says:

"I'm your Jolly Roger, drop your weapon and surrender, become a member of our crew with the Captains permission or you go to Besmara and sharks eat your third leg." She looks at his crotch and makes sure he knows where she will strike while he is prone. GIVE me your word and don't break it.

If he does not respond correctly immediately, Sandra will strike.

Cutlass: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Assuming the solider capitulates or is injured and hurt or dies, Septa will move back AOO available five feet to Y2, turn to face towards X2 and 3 then holster his rapier.

Is drawing from the bandolier a free action? If so, Septa will pull his tanglefoot bag from number four slot on it. Reading the PF srd it appears I can. Draw or Sheathe a Weapon

Lantern Lodge

The Rahadoumi soldier, perhaps to the boarding parties surprise, stands rapidly, leaping for the starboard side, in an effort to jump overboard.

AoO provoked
Yes! You may draw as a free action from the bandolier!

Male Human Cleric 4

Well first there is Sandra's attack above. (normal attack)

Then I will do Sandras AOO

Cutlass: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

I am going to assume that that is enough to take the solider down. (17 total)

Ah well...

Then (saving his AOO) Septa will move, holster his rapier and draw the tanglefoot bag.

Lantern Lodge

Sandara's second strike strike a vein in his upper chest. The guard crumples before making it to the gunwhales.

The fog remains thick -- Longfarthing continues his casting to renew the spells as they expire.

From the deck Septa does not hear any fighting, just the sound of wounded men, both boarders and Rahadoumi, binding their wounds, while beneath his feet muffled sounds suggest that a war rages beneath his feet.

It seems your group a a brief respite during this lull in the battle.
