I was going to try to intimidate Guaril but the roll was pitiful so I gave up on the idea.
If you typed in and got a result, generally you should let the result stand and not remove it, as even a failure can move the story. If you didn't delete the roll then ignore me.
I am heading to another job interview in the morning, so I kind of double posted for the trip. If we end up off track from where I think we are going, feel free to ignore me.
do you need/want individual checks for questions? IIRC if they are Helpful towards me, they will answer anything without a check, unless it is dangerous.
"Would you be more comfortable talking in the carriage, where no one can overhear you? We could take a trip around the block if you like." Oh dear.... I have no idea what to do with a line like that but its begging me to make an off colour line or two

Believe it or not, I am OK with her renting the kids out for oddjobs etc. Takes money to feed kids and could open up opportunities for them - I'm ok on them not really getting paid. Seems like she is doing good.
Could be my Tien background where all the money goes into the family...
I am not sure whether or not it is bad, but; it should be reported. I think I am more worried that with all the kids here to get better, none of these have seen medicine before...
That depends. If she is getting charity from the Silver Crusade so the children don't have to work so they can recover, then sending the children to work is bad. . . If she uses the money for the upkeep of the children, and lets them hold on to what remains after expenses (and maybe a little for her trouble) them it is sketchy, but not as bad.
As I said, could go either way, but definitely going in Jezebel's report. Still concerned about where the medicine is going if not to the children though.
After this, I think I will join those on the other side of the street talking to the old man. When we are done canvassing the neighbors, we should head inside to speak to the old woman, and possibly reconnoiter her home. If she isn't giving medicine to the kids, and she no longer has the medicine... that bodes ill.
Yeah purchased would work Sorry, I sitting outside with my kids and I had to keep putting my phone down to help them.
Most everyone in Australia I know buys beer by the case (24 bottles). That doesn't mean they drink it all at once though... It's just cheaper to buy it in bulk.
Adept, Bard, Cleric, Druid Paladin, Ranger, and Witch all get healing magic. So if she is healing them herself and pocketing the charity, there certainly are options. . .

Am I the only one struggling with the morality here? I mean, so she's a witch healing the kids and pocketing (or selling, more likely) the medicine to support her vice. Kids got a roof, 3 square meals, and a bed. So what if they work -- that's the way it was before we had child labor laws, eh? They were orphans, after all, so this is how it works.
Maybe I'm just jaded as I've actually been a foster parent once. . .
In character, I think Galia's thought would be to simply report the facts back and let someone else make the tough moral call.
But we haven't confronted Auntie yet, or seen inside. Did anyone bring a PBT?
RL? I don't want to get into that but in ABSTRACT there is no safety net for kids in Absolom as far as I can tell. It doesn't sound like she has the kids in coal mines or working as Chimney sweeps and the fact that the kids are outside playing rather than in some Dickonsian workshop says they aren't being worked to death. I've not heard any evidence of physical or sexual abuse.
In exchange the kids get a few meals a day and a roof over their heads.
Perfect? No.
As for the rest of it? Witchery, drinking, selling medicine lets investigate. As for the morality of it? You're right, lets report back the facts and let the Silver Crusade decide.

No problem here if she is a witch. Who or what her patron is might be a problem. Same thing if she is some other type of magic user, Cleric, of what diety? What she is doing with the silver Crusades resources is what we are supposed to be discovering if she isn't using them on the kids. If she is selling them then we let the crusade know that she needs money not medicines. She doesn't seem to be doing a bad job with the kids.

My internet connection is spotty at the moment. Suddenly dropped out on me and I've been unable to get it back up. Currently borrowing a connection so I'm not sure how long I can keep on going until I complain/yell at my ISP.

will be posting Aussie or PST times... am dead tired
Just want to apologise for not posting yesterday. Between 6 hours driving, pre exam nerves and exams I only got halfway through writing one. I'll finish it off tonight.
I think we have enough to report to the SIlver Crusade. Not sure about whiskey in the tea, what time is it?
We can report:
1) Possible connection to shady types that she appears to be selling something to.
2) She appears to be letting out the children as workers. She keeps the money.
3) Possible drinking problem.
4) Appears to have healing magic of her own she uses instead of medicine.
did my failed diplomacy rolls lead to Auntie Psychopath? I hope not. I would like to think it was inevitable based on alcohol use, paranoia and maybe some fell influence we are not yet aware of. Are we going to have to kill the Auntie?
Pretty much inevitable yeah. She is not keen on anyone finding out about her less than legal activities and no, you never 'have' to kill anyone. You can cause non lethal damage or try to grapple and pin her.
