Also, I really do wish I could convince my friends that Antman is good; they think it's just a money grab from Disney 'seeing what they can get away with'. :|
Well, if you want to get cynical, all movies are money-grabs. That is indeed, the point of making a movie :p

You didn't miss much. We just opted to sacrifice you instead of the acolyte. It was a necessary evil. :3
Figures Li'an would get sacrificed after she's finally found herself a cute outsider ;p
Oh well, guess it was time to take one for the team.
I was skeptical before I heard from various people (and y'all!) how good it was. And it definitely didn't disappoint.
Off to bed, night y'all!

Sweet dreams!

Also, how old is the cleric?

My Internet may have just crashed. I'm posting this on my phone but if I can't get my computer working tonight, I'm likely just going to sleep on it.

Good luck, Butterfly!

My computer lives! Success!
Ary Bishop |
Good morning, Val's computer! :P
I can't think of anything worse or more frustrating than a computer dying. It's... basically got my entire life inside of it. And the thing is nearly a decade old, which is terrifying.
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Back up your drive! I had mine die a few years ago and actually lost something like a decade's worth of files. I've actually still got the drive in case I magically win the lottery and can afford to have it sent off for data recovery :P
And morning!

I learned my lesson about back my computer up years ago. I'll be careful.

Hah! Swarms! Yeah I got my butt just kicked by one of those... grr... So how does the husband take the murdering, sounds like a REALLY bad lifetime movie! What did he/is he going to make to replace him?
GM Kiora |
Well, but he dies the most often out of everyone (he's very rash, lol)....so... he's used to it :P He also loves making builds.
I think what's happening is:
Husband's human master summoner ---> human sarkorian brawler (grappling focused)
Other dead human ex-paladin of aroden ---> human sarkorian shaman
But nothing is finalized yet.
They have enough cash on hand to resurrect one of them, which is awkward, so both are rerolling.

Grappling! That'll teach those swarms ;)
Ary Bishop |
Hug them to death!
Side note: It'd have been super neat for a normal summoner to ascend their eidolon to Empyreal Lord status as their final 'Wrath of the Righteous goal' :o
GM Kiora |
Grappling! That'll teach those swarms ;)
hahaha, my thoughts exactly.....
I think another PC is gonna end up dying to a swarm before they start prepping for em, lol
But there are a lot of cool mythic grappling abilities so I get it XD
...I'm a little concerned he'll get trumped by freedom of movement though :/ I think brawlers get an avenue to dispel things but idk if its actually a good avenue

My husband was actually planning to take the starstone test at the end with the summoner. ;3
But yeah, that'd be cool.
I'm a little bummed he didn't survive, I was gonna have the deceased ex-paladin PC get fast-tracked into turning into good outsider and then have him show up as a planar ally later in the game, woulda been cool, I think :o
Li'an Va'ardalia |

That would be pretty cool, yeah! (Both to ascending the Eidolon and to bringing back a PC as a planar ally!)
Honestly they should rez the summoner, although I know the allure of rolling up new characters. It's so much fun!

Walk soft! What fight through yonder market breaks?
It is some beasts, and Julania is alone!
Ary rise, fair crusader, and kill the envious buzzards,
who are already thin and wail with hunger,
that they are made to wait for their fair share.
O Markus, Markus! Wherefore art thou Markus?
Deny thy turn and refuse to run farther;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn to fight,
And I'll no longer delay my action.
Ary Bishop |
"But I can't fly..." -- Ary probably.
Seriously, though. Buzzards gonna surround and eats us. Let's just hope our cleric listened to Ary. :)
Oh god. Is she in medium armor?
Li'an Va'ardalia |
If they're gonna surround us and eat us, they've gotta stoop to our level, and that's when we kill them :p
Edit: Unless they're actually demon-buzzard swarms, at which point we're doomed.
Ary Bishop |
Nope. They breathe lightning. :)

If that's the case we can only hope we have some sort of magic blessing that can protect us from energy attacks!
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Since I suspect that Markus will turn up here in an hour or two and then y'all will whip through a round quick, here's an action that may or may not be useful!
Will delay my action to attack the first buzzard that comes into melee range and is flankable, or if they all come down and none are flankable, the nearest to Li'an.
Li'an draws Lleuad and waits for an opportunity to strike at one of the creatures. When it reaches the ground and begins to attack she moves in behind it, approaching as silently as she can and attempts to strike while it's distracted. Grabbing Lleuad with both hands, she charges it with arcane energy before plunging it into the creature's back.
Denied dex if it doesn't percieve me, and +2 to hit if flanking. Not sure if you want another stealth check to approach it, or just use the previous one. Feel free to roll one if a new one is needed.
Attack(Hit;Damage:Sneak Attack, Arcane Pool): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 141d6 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 4 + (1, 1) = 12

I actually have been known to sacrifice my characters for the team also, I am usually quite indecisive and have to slowly narrow down until I can come up with a cool story in my head for the winner.

Your instincts are perfectly correct, Li'an. I'm sorry I didn't tell anyone - I went out to Vashon Island for the whole of yesterday, and due to business I didn't get back till just now.
I'm gonna catch up real quick on the things.

Ary Bishop |
Actually, Ary will delay her action until she can move in tandem with Klarah. If there's something obviously important (like a buzzard landing next to her), she'll interact before then. :P
Ary Bishop |
Also, one neat thing for the shaman to keep in mind: Summon Swarm is a shaman spell. :3. Fight fire with fire!
Warning: Do not attempt this in the presence of Deskari. While it may be fine, I get the feeling it will get worse quickly. :0
Markus Coffinborn |
Oh, Vashon was gorgeous and I got to see my friend perform in Carrie: The Musical.
As the scary mom. It's strange to think (although I might not get sympathy from most of you) that me and my peers are old enough to be the parents in high school productions now.
I also overheard some kids refer to me as a grown man yesterday.

I also overheard some kids refer to me as a grown man yesterday.
The horror.
That's never been an issue for me. Everyone is pretty sure I'm still a little kid. :p. In all the worst ways. :3
I don't think I've ever been on an island. What was your favorite part of the island itself?
Markus Coffinborn |
There were only a dozen roads and the rest was completely overgrown, disregarding the wilting heat. Even my friend's garden was growing over its walls.
Just the sheer verdancy of everything - everywhere you looked was green.
In second place came the sign that read "Eat Locals" inside of a burger joint called Zombiez.
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Sounds nice. One of the things I've loved about North Carolina is how absurdly green everything is here. When I went back to Texas a week or so ago it made it clear to me that what I always thought was green in Texas was just really a pathetic greenish-brown.
"Zombiez: come for the burgers, stay for the brains!" :P
Hrut Ingvarson |
Did they call you sir and everything Markus??!

It's weird isn't it?! Wait til almost everyone you know has kids. That's the boat I'm in D:

Dropping the arrows and drawing his warhammer, Hrut raises the weapon above his head, the familiar glow of yellow brightness engulfs the weapon as he brings it down on the vulture(2).
Enduring Crane Strike
Attack/Damage: 1d20 + 8 - 3 ⇒ (20) + 8 - 3 = 251d8 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 3 = 6critical
Confirm: 1d20 + 8 - 3 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 3 = 10
Heal Hrut: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Ary Bishop |
Regardless, conserve Bodyguard to protect from bites over claws. Double Move to Ally's side.
Option A: Aware of Hrut.
Ary, realizing how dire the situation is for Hrut, moves quickly to his side, drawing Radiance as she goes, and readying herself to cover his flank. Things looked dire, and they were deteriorating quickly. She was painfully aware of Klarah's inability to keep up; she'd just have to make up the difference if things went south.
Conditional A: If Li'an doesn't move forth, opening herself up to the vultures:
As she moved, she called out to Julania. "Captain, Tactical Retreat in my direction! We have reinforcements! Draw them past the tent! Stand down, Hrut; they've likely chosen you as their quarry."
Option B: Unaware of Hrut
Unaware of the situation that Hrut had fallen into, Ary rushes to the Captain's side to help defend her from the vultures, drawing Radiance as she went and readying her shield to deflect the vulture's pressure.
Suddenly realizing how bad things were going for Hrut with a look over her shoulder, Ary winced. "Hrut! Back away quickly, they're hunting you. Lure them to Butterfly and Hawk. Get to the medics!"
Conditional B: If Fen'wen has moved out to Flank Vulture 2:
Noticing the numbers, Ary is glad that she's able to guard both the captain and Fen'wen's flanks. The last thing she wants is for the birds to wind up with demonslaying beaks.

Ehren Ferron |

Ehren parts his lips and expels the air he had built up in his lungs, releasing it in Hrut's general direction. At first nothing seems to happen, but several feet away the air starts to visibly distort, twisting and curling until a cloud-like form appears. The wispy, semi-humanoid creature darts after the airborne creatures with grace that no winged beast could hope to match and whips out with a thin appendage.
Slam Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 -______-
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Summoning small air elemental 30 feet east, it zooms over to attack vulture 6 and fails terribly like all of Ehren's elemental friends seem to.
The druid meanwhile moves closer to Anevia and Klarah.
Ary Bishop |
Hm. Maybe Ary isn't heart after all. Just for pun's sake.
I haven't continued watching the show yet, I'm gonna try to drag my friend who loves creepy stuff into watching it with me.
Right now I'm watching Sense8. It's... very emotional. Probably too emotional in many ways. It is also more sexual than probably anything I've ever watched on Netflix. It's definitely NSFW and may not be safe to let others know you watch it. :P
It -is- very emotionally charged, though. The hourlong episodes makes it hard to fit it into my time, though :(

I've been watching Steven Universe on Youtube in glorious "HD" quality. I think I'm addicted.
And I'm officially convinced that those people who claim that there are no good cartoons out anymore are just crazy. :P

A show by the Wachowskis and JMS? Sign me up!
I need to get around to watching Steven Universe too. I've been working my way through Avatar slowly in the meantime when not watching other things.
I'm taking off now for my trip. Will be checking in later today and tonight, and again probably tomorrow evening sometime. Will make sure to post an action if my timing doesn't line up right.
