I quite enjoy being an evil bastard in Pathfinder when appropriate. It's easier to be cruel when it's not real. I'm trying to make an evil version of Carrion Crown actually, but it's slow going. I've always wanted to play a proper necromancer...
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Haha, yeah I'm not sure Tar'jub and Li'an have anything in common at all.
I'm glad to hear it's still going though!
I usually have that problem too Ary. I find it really hard to take evil paths through games. Biggest problem with the imp though wasn't evil, it was that my mental picture of an imp speaking requires a very limited vocabulary even if it's otherwise intelligent. It's a lot of work to make dialogue for an imp who is half-crazy, intelligent, and speaks like one would imagine an imp speaks :p
Ehren Ferron |
Yeah... I've been playing KotOR II again recently, and I'm about to finish my good guy run. It just comes to me naturally. I'm planning to do a bad guy run, but all of the evil dialogue options are so hilariously over the top that I'm not sure I could take my own character seriously. Like, what happened to subtle evil?
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Out of time for the evening. Li'an is up for storming the castle, although if we're going in she'll take the potion. Can't risk being in there with 7 HP.
I think there's no guarantee that Val will be able to get in from the back, so we may be best served by going in quickly. One thing to figure out though is if the building could be broken open with Soften earth and stone. If there's unworked stone or earth beneath it and the building is in bad shape to begin with, it might be worth a shot.
Ehren Ferron |
I'm definitely considering it. It's risky and unpredictable though, and I'm not sure if there are any actual rules for damaging buildings, despite the spell mentioning that it can.

I have heard that of Zeitgeist AP or however its spelled is really hard and hard to DM from what I have read. I would like to start something with my f2f peeps but I have never run anything before so I am nervous of course. I have 2 games going now that are like post once a week lameness even though the thread said daily, irritating, and 1 other game that I post in probably 2x a day thats nice one, but nothing like this one! Post bombs can happen at any point, not to mention its awesomely put together! This game definitely sets the bar super high!

I'm glad you guys are enjoying yourself :D
And haha, yeah - they mostly didn't go into the Worldwound because they couldn't figure out how to cross the river (they didn't have enough money to bribe anyone to ferry them across and still weren't freaked out by the fact that all the boatsmen made it clear that it'd be a one-way trip - the boatsmen were not about to wait around on the Worldwound shore indefinitely.
While they were talking about it they even went -
"Bet your online group wouldn't just go marching into the Worldwound like this!"
"Yeah - they'd probably have a plan first."
Which I thought you'd appreciate :P
Anyway, first wotr PC died - he tried to swim across a rather large body of water in full plate and drowned. :P
I also almost killed my husband via hold person-> CDG but the lucky bastard nat 20'd his save '-'

Disturbing Blow
Attack/Damage: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 - 1 = 121d8 + 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + (1) + 4 = 9
Edit: Forgot this. Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 1 = 19

Oh my, what a day to be stuck without internet access. 63 in Gameplay and 10 in discussion. Going over stuff now!

Oh you poor baby. :P
You should try on Markus's or Hrut's shoes sometime. :p
:)
How's your trip?

It's one of those things that is what it is. Ok so far, but definitely not for pleasure, and I'll be happy when I'm home again.
Pretty exhausted, so I probably won't be posting too long tonight either. Looks like a lot of exciting stuff happened!
Ary Bishop |
Well... feel better! :o
Ary Bishop |
:p I'm enjoying having her hide in the middle of everyone else. :|
Li'an Va'ardalia |
I will, to both "feeling better" and "getting rest"!
Don't worry Ary, Fen'wen won't let you go crazy! She'll force feed you restoration potions until you're better :)

Ok, calling it a night. Will be around a little bit tomorrow morning to receive any chewing out the rest of the group feels Li'an needs. :p
If Li'an's turn comes around again before tomorrow morning:
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 1 = 13
Li'an attempts to tumble her way around Hosilla to get into a more advantageous position and attacks, trying to strike with Lleuad's pommel.
Attack(Hit:Alter Self-Dex/Size,Nonlethal;Alter Self-Dex: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 91d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
+2 to hit if she manages to flank, and add sneak attack damage
Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8

Ary, thoroughly confused by the darkness and the slow, wrenching pain in her stomach, lashes out against the last known threat. The talking goat-head in the wall. The satisfying screech seems to placate something inside her, as she starts to listen to her surroundings carefully, but not too carefully, trying to pick up on exactly where the creature is.
Concealment, Odd Bad: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Radiance Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Radiance Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
If she succeeds on wrecking the unholy symbol, or assumes she does:
Feeling quite accomplished in her wanton destruction of talking stargoats, she heads for the Mandrake, shifting and edging towards it slowly shield raised. 5 foot step as she feels out where it is.
I changed my actions (Read: Removed the option where 'if she knows there's a monster, she goes that way) now that I know what it is. Specifically because tumbling blindly is not for Ary. And reach + tumbling blindly = death. And she's kinda peeved more at the goat than the Mandragora. :P
GM Kiora |
Hey Hrut!
To speed things up so I don't have to neglect Markus, go ahead and roll your next five actions. remember each round needs to have a fort save with it against nausea.
You should also give me a "low HP threshold" (like, don't let me go below 25% HP) at which you want to stop automating things in case you keep rolling really crappy and are at real risk of being eaten alive by rats.
Reason being that in all probability, by the time Markus comes down to the pantry, the rats should be dead, and I'd like to get to that part sooner rather than later :D

Well this is an exciting turn of events! So many questions to resolve:
Will Hosilla die of her own god's poison? What's in the bottle? Will our heroes be slain by a shrubbery? Is Val trained in combat topiary? *Do* gnomes really match everywhere?
Some of these may remain mysteries forever, while others will surely be answered in short order! Tune in next time to find out! ;p

Will Ary cut off her own leg, or will she gnaw it off later!?
Stay tuned, and don't miss the next episode of The Young and the Righteous.
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Flying back today, things should be normalish again tonight. Sooo ready to get home :p
Ary Bishop |
Not sure how available I'll be for the next few hours; we're going to be not-busy at work pet-wise, but that should mean lots of cleaning.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 = 16
Healing: 3d8 + 5 ⇒ (2, 7, 8) + 5 = 22
"Thank you, Ehren." Ary smiles as she drinks down the potion, her wounds healing, as she slips back towards the creature, enabling her to strike at it soon.
Li'an Va'ardalia |
Thanks, I did!
Also, hooooooome! Hooray! Now I just need to put together stuff for tomorrow and then I can go pass out :p
Ary Bishop |
Welcome home. :)
What sort of stuff do you have to have done for tomorrow?
Li'an Va'ardalia |
I'm preparing a 45 minute talk on the work I've done in prep for an interview next week. Practicing tomorrow.
I've got about 2/3 of it finalized so far, so probably 3-4 hours to put the rest together including making new plots and such. Not super exciting but necessary nevertheless!
Re: Game, I'm kinda worrying about this Mandragora. It's gonna be a close fight between it and the poison.
Ehren Ferron |
I'm half tempted to say ditch the room and dump the ceiling on it, but honestly I'm not sure how much harm that'd even do to it. Plus we'd have to leave behind that fancy chest... :P

Mandragoras have so seriously nasty special powers. Con damage is just rude and all the poisons right now... ugh. Tough fight. Scary part, if I remember correctly this fight is already in the AP as is. Kiora didn't even have to improve it to make it harder.
Li'an Va'ardalia |
That's ok, we made it harder for her, given we left Hrut and Markus behind! ;)
