Was worth a shot. Bookish rogue is a strange feat in that it really makes a rogue work like an arcanist (more so than a wizard really), but doesn't exactly give them spells known or make them a caster.

One ability I'm on the edge about is Class Mimic. It's a good combat buff, I could steal weapon training or nimble from Val, or Favored Enemy: Demon from Ary, but the limitation that it can't be a uses/day ability kills a lot of the cool things you could do with it like stealing wildshape (also Ehren traded Thousand Faces as a Menhir, so no stealing free at-will alter self :p).

Actually... now that you mention it (the bearing the souls thing), I'd spotted an ability in the Hero's Handbook you gave us... that's really neat, but I didn't like one particular portion of the flavor. (Page 252)

Soul Drinker:
Soul Drinker: Whenever a blow from this weapon reduces a creature below 0 hit points, the target is affected as death knell with a caster level equal to twice your mythic tier. You gain the benefits of death knell only if the target’s CR equals or exceeds your mythic tier, but the effects stack up to a maximum bonus equal to 1 plus one-half your mythic tier (maximum 1). The save DC uses your Charisma modifier or the item’s (if it is intelligent), whichever is better. The weapon can expend one use of legendary power to add the result of its legendary surge die to the death knell save DC.

When you slay a creature with this weapon you can expend one use of its legendary power as a swift action (or two uses as a free action) to use rest eternal(APG) upon the target (caster level equals twice your mythic tier), as the target’s soul is bound into the weapon. If the weapon gains the broken condition, any rest eternal effects it has created are suppressed until it is repaired. Souls bound to the weapon are gradually devoured, and each day a soul remains bound to it that creature gains one negative level. This has no effect while the creature remains dead (though they become permanent negative levels if the creature is returned from death) unless its total negative levels equal its Hit Dice, in which case its soul is devoured and destroyed and the dead creature cannot be brought back from death by any means short of divine intervention unless a miracle or wish is used to recreate the victim’s soul (this eliminates the negative levels inflicted by the soul drinker), leaving him still dead but able to be brought back through normal means.

An item must be a weapon and must be a minor or major artifact to have this ability.

There are two things that I see wrong. 1+ .5Tier (Maximum 1) has -got- to be a typo :p

Two: I don't want it to -devour souls-. I want it to lock them away. (And possibly purge them of corruption)

From a flavor standpoint, it'd be -really- neat if it worked on summoned demons just as well as everyone else. Really, really neat. But that might mess up some portion of the AP (Here's that one demon you just -keep- running into!) If none of that is okay to remove/edit, that's fine, too. It's just really neat, but also -really- dark.

But it very much fit in line with the 'it bears the souls of her ancestors' thing. Because they kind of swore an oath not to rest until the demonic hordes were pushed from their land.

I do totally intend to take Soul Safe, though. :) (It's on the same page)

Ooh, didn't notice that there were item abilities in the Mythic Heroes Handbook. The Mighty Servant and Inestimable beauty abilities are kinda neat.

The soul drinker thing is actually pretty cool.

As for a recurring villain, other than Khorramzadeh at the veeeerrrryyy beginning there's no villain that needs to recur to make the AP work. At this point it should be clear that your real targets are the demonic demi-gods, and if you guys somehow managed to kill demonic demi-gods before you are supposed to in the AP I will high five you :p

From a flavor standpoint, if you don't want to have your devour souls weapon to devour souls it doesn't have to lol. From a "locking away" standpoint its actually pretty interesting because one of the issues with demons is that when you kill them, they just revive as larvae and come back (eventually).

Indeed, the question of how to permanently kill the big bads is one of the problems that the mythic heroes must find a solution to, someday, and that's a pretty neat solution you've got there ;) (The fact that Aroden killed Deskari... but he just came back, should be something your heroes are already aware of, this isn't really a spoiler)

Perhaps it was why she was chosen in the first place.

Found this. Unfortunately, I don't think it'd work because technically Ehren doesn't know it's a poison (though not breathing it in is probably common sense) and he's already in the area of effect as it's being cast.

For fast reference, here are the suffocation/breathing rules (I had to look them up recently because Li'an's crit actually counted as suffocating the dretch earlier)

I wanted to go see it, then forgot it existed. I was -really- into going to see the last one... but was really, really disappointed.

Also, another thing: Ary only gets half her bonus from Favored Enemy to saving throws. :) So that's only a +1. (That's why I just put +2 total and labeled it DEMONS (which should be read similarly to Crocker screaming 'fairy god parents!)). :)

One of the most unlikely places that Legend of Korra made me think... was when a person fed the group stew 'made from the finest dumpsters around town'. Several of the characters were completely fine with it, in fact, enjoying it. One character in particular couldn't eat it.

It made me realize how privileged I am... because I realized that I don't think I -could- do that, unless I was legitimately starving... and even then, it would be quite an ordeal. As such... I think gobbling down giant sewer rats is something that is reasonable to find unpalatable. Even on the front of 'don't knock it til you've tried it'. :P

I think if my choices were "starve to death" or "eat something horrible" I'd be able to eat something horrible pretty easily.

But yeah, if I had bland trail rations available, and thus had a choice in the matter, I wouldn't be able to do it either.

Looking more into path of war (specifically Stalker), Thrashing Dragon and Veiled Moon seem right up Valaria's alley... especially for cool factors. Thrashing Dragon, especially. :) You might look into it if you're even a little interested (I'm not sure if anyone else has access to Thrashing Dragon). There are also feats (yeah, I know you're starved :p) that allow access to some disciplines, I think. :)

I kind of know the feeling... but I haven't managed to convince myself to not just -stay a ranger forever-. :P

I keep thinking of other things I could do, but they just don't -feel- right. Warder is neat, but it's definitely the wrong stat for Ary. Stalker just doesn't fit her due to flavor.

Warlord is the most doable. I like that it plays up the 'martyr' side of things. 'I'm gonna do this really stupid thing, but if it works, it'll pay off for everyone!'. Sadly, it really supports just making you better at the things you already want to do.

P.S. I love Thrashing Dragon because Terendelev. But the 'inner' and 'outer sphere' stances are so very, very Desna.

On the bright side, if you can get thrashing dragon with warlord or warder (dervish?), and the class fits for your vision... I think you get a bonus feat out of the deal! :o
