2. Emanations are a variant of burst - I guess it doesn't specifically refer to them as different words but they are different effects, so I'd like them differentiated in wordcasting. I mean it only really affects Fog Bank and Echo on your list but you have wild arcana :P

I didn't forget, I was just under the impression that Nyserian Manor had been wrecked, given that Val found his symbol in the wreckage of a building as we were chasing after Hosilla. Most likely she'd headed for that safe house, and found it... not up to snuff. So she went to the other one.

Does that seem incorrect?

I'm waiting on Horgus to tell Ary she should give the Loumises a bit more money (Or more business!), then Ary will be ready for the next morning and going through those motions quickly. :)

On the wagon stuff - this is basically the wagon she is talking about. So, with that image in mind, I want you to be exact in your precautions you are taking for Annabelle's sake.

It can seat 6 people inside the body (assuming you aren't hauling a lot of cargo) + it needs one person to direct the wagon with trained Handle Animal. It requires two horses to move.

You can also hire a driver. A fair wage for the round trip is around 50 gp.

That's totally not how I pictured the wardstones at all, too obelisk-y. :) I love the art though!

I wish I knew where I got the mental image from. I have a really strong mental image, so I'm pretty sure I've seen it somewhere. I visualize them as a large ovoid boulder, rough in texture, decorated much like a sacred stone would be in Shinto, and set upon a stone base. The one in Kenabres has a region in the front of it where it was polished so the runes could be scribed and inlaid with gold.

I was very surprised to find the wardstone to be inside. Given that they're menhir, I'd have though fortifications would have been built around them on the first floor. I don't think being able to fly does much, when they're mostly indestructible.

And agreed... I was more picturing like the world of warcraft stones you find in elven lands that are basically just egg-shaped rocks with various symbols (mostly swirly etches) all over.

Touch AC fixed!

I dunno about the dagger. Weird, huh? It was never intended to be used as a weapon, so I didn't put it in his statblock. But he was forced to try to shank Vagorg with it when his club broke. I have half a mind to ditch the club, but it has a bit too much history. The sling on the other hand... now that Ehren doesn't have to prepare magic stone every day, he doesn't really need it anymore. :P

I'm staring at the spell list right now! Always hard to decide what to prepare. I was kind of debating on starting to keep some slots open for situational needs, but inspired blessing kind of eliminates the need for that. So I went ahead and prepared ant haul as my 1st-level spell. 14 hours with place magic is a decent duration, and it helps with his crappy carrying capacity. I think I'm happy with my prepared spells, though.

It will also increase her ACP penalty which will affect those related skills... which I believe should be -1 acrobatics, +4 climb, -1 escape artist, -1 Fly, +3 ride, +4 stealth, +4 swim
  • I believe at one point you asked if Faith could morph into a different shield type. I don't think I answered that, did I? Anyway, I'm fine with that as long as Faith is fully legendary when that happens.
  • You now have 81 HP which is correct on your header but not on your alias.
  • Your Will saves are now +7, correct on your header but not on your alias.
  • You have an additional iterative, which should bring your attack routine to +11/+6 when using either Radiance or Faith. Or are you going to TWF now?
  • Your sense motive is only +3 (incorrect on your header, correct on your mythweavers sheet)

Yeah, I'd updated that but I must not have saved it; I update my profile page in pieces due to the 'oops' factor of it just deciding it won't change everything (and I can't just copy paste in different sections, so I do it one at a time). I guess the non-header part didn't make it. :)

    Hmm, I could've sworn I'd read somewhere that it was only one, but looking through the boards the consensus seems to be that you do get them all.

    In that case Diplomacy should also be +21, yes? Racial bonuses stack, and Isilme gets +2 perform (Oratory) and +2 diplomacy as racial bonuses.

    They do normally, yes, but using versatile performance you effectively swap out your diplomacy check for whatever your perform (oratory) roll is so the racial bonus for diplomacy is never used, only the one for perform.

    So your bonus is just a +19 if using versatile performance.

    Yup.

    And yeah, the bonus granted by a masterwork tool or instrument would not assist a Versatile Performance check because you're using that tool to enhance an actual performance, not a substituted skill. I'd certainly allow trait bonuses to stack as well; I'd even be tempted to let bonuses from Skill focus or other feats stack.

    Basically... I think of it as basically transplanting your ranks in the perform skill directly into the two other skills as "phantom" ranks that overlap with any ranks you currently have in those other skills. You take the higher of the two and go from there.

    Per James Jacobs that means you get all the bonuses for the perform, but you also get situational modifiers that would apply to the skill being mimic'd, e.g. boots of elvenkind still provide a benefit when using VP(Dance) for Acrobatics checks, as would the Halfling racial bonus. Instruments (i.e. a tool bonus to perform) don't move over, because you're not actually performing.

    There is no official FAQ with regards to how it works, but his argument seems logical to me. If you have a bonus to diplomacy, you're still doing diplomacy when you use Verse. Perf. (Oratory), so you get that bonus, and it's informed by your Perf.(Oratory) skill, so you get bonuses that are applicable to the base skill, but not situational to actually performing.

    Interesting! If that's how it is supposed to be, they really should have been more specific in the rules text. But I generally go with dev rulings for crunch so :P

    Absolutely, the rules text needed a good bit more elaboration I think. It's one of those things that at first blush seems simple, but turns out to be a mess once you get down in the thick of it. :)

    And I'm alright with ruling things like not being able to get a racial bonus twice that way, and such, but it has implications for magical items/spells/etc (e.g. glibness and Pageant of the Peacock) in the future as well, so it was important to bring up.

    Edit: My new improved Diplomacy bonus means that I talked Horgus out of three sheets of parchment instead of two! :o

    It does not, it'll either hang out nearby up to a maximum distance of 100' ooorrrr Annabelle can call upon it to manifest but then you have to lug around any saddle/barding by hand if it's not manifested.

    I'll also let Markus manifest the steed since he did so the first time anyway.

    On the topic of wooden carriages, yes, that would be convenient wouldn't it? ;)

    Alas, you only have canvas ones. For normal human beings, they are much more comfortable and better ventilated!

    Perhaps you could look into buying your own stuffy, wooden one. Perhaps Mavarro has one for sale? ;D

    Versatile Peformance is a lot better than I ever gave it credit for... and it's generally the reason I'm a bard, almost. :P

    Should Ary look into getting a hope chest?

    Since Annabelle doesn't sleep, does her horse sleep? Is it just always there when she doesn't dismiss it?

    Also... I couldn't really do ranger in face to face just because of all the situationals. Like... what happens if I don't know it's a demon? (Not that it's likely for Ary to have that problem, buuuut!)
