Well, Hallit is pretty common up in this area... Truth be told, more so than taldane.

Robin has Hallit and Common... and I could burn a rank in linguistics.

Celestial is decent, but a lot of stuff also gets it, including a good deal of evil outsides and undead. So, maybe not the perfect choice.

Ray always likes to suggest sasquatch, which is often vetoed.

What about something like Minkaian? I think that if some are sacrificing a skill point, all should... and none of us have anything like that in their skills ;)

Azlanti could be fun, and useful as we would all be able to understand more about the spire. It would naturally arise from our adventures. Celestial, Hallit, and Common are all already used by multiple party members, and could be considered to be taught to each other as we progress. Of those Hallit has been used multiple times between two of us, and I would suspect that there is some curiosity by the characters who don't speak it as to what slanders are being uttered.

That said, Celestial would have a special place in Agriver's heart, and he may be making an attempt to convert us, in which case I can guarantee Yon to be a holdout. However, I do like it, and I think we should use the opportunity to discuss this in character (for some development) on our return and subsequent stay in town.

Azlanti would be interesting... and holds an interesting risk as well.

Azlanti sounds pretty cool.. but the purpose of us getting a "team language" is so the inhabitants of the tower don't all understand us.. isn't this ruin an ancient Azlanti ruin? Thus the inhabitants.. undead or otherwise.. would know and understand it? Defeating our purpose?

Yeah I imagine I wouldn't be able to sell Celestial as Agriver would probably just say "please" and if it was rejected... accept it and listen.

My background was that I was visited by a celestial being in a dream.. so it aligned for me.. but then again I can just learn it in addition to whatever we pick if its a deal.

The same draw back for Azlanti can be used against Celestial, as Jack noted. However, I do want to add that Azlanti is a modern language in Golarion, it also happens to descend from the oldest Human language, and be the language of the builders of this dungeon... using the skill Knowledge(useless trivia) in a game now

When it comes down to it; Hallit, Celestial, and Azlanti are all not really that good for being secret languages only the party knows. However, meta-ing this out... could still take us another week. At least in character we'd have some background building as we did it.

We're healed, but down some ABI's and one party member... the wise choice is to create as defensible a position as we can.

From the mess hall there is one room to the south in the hall that is unopened. And a further two closed doors in the mess hall. At least, tactically speaking, we should ensure our party is not flanked from those positions. That was Agriver's reason for going into a room after all.

Edit: and make sure the party is not attacked by Golgathans

I don't mind exploring, but we need to have a way to keep Rboud safe. We should not go off triggering danger that could hurt a helpless party member.

I would say check the rooms off the Mess Hall (I just checked the north one).. and the larger south room (need to go to the other door on that one... and if it checks out, lets use that room to store Rboud.

We can move forward on the floor as long as we accomplish that.

It's either that - or we take him back to town and come back.
