Shazam, I'm rollin' hot with this guy.

Both Pietro's and Halsere's spells miss by a hair!

Thyra, Spidre and Mirrel, you're up.

As I understand, Thyra is no longer being grappled?

Thyra will draw her axe out and attempt to cut the wight down, trying to use her goading strike to keep the Wight off her allies.

Attack 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Damage + Goading Strike: 1d8 + 7 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + 7 + (4) = 16

If that hit, its a Wisdom save DC 16 or suffer disadvantage when attacking anyone other than Thyra, he can attack her normally.

"I'm yer enemy!"

Attack 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Lashing out in anger at the futilitiy of the situation, that she couldn't save this dwarf from such torment, she'll chop at the wight one last time.

Attack 3(Action Surge): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

However, it appears the silent tears of frustration clouded her vision.

In an emotional frenzy, Thyra pulverizes the wight!

Out of combat. Again.

FYI: Although you do have a map through the maze, you also know that there are additional patrols and monster groups there that you didn't fight and that move around the maze. Additionally, getting to that tower where you fought Melmac involves passing two doors that you originally had to use the Staff of Life to open... and you don't have the Staff of Life anymore. Just sayin'.

You spend an hour or so recovering from the horrors of this room, then resume your exploration. As it turns out, there wasn't much more to the northern branch of this level, and in minutes you've cleared the area. Two branches remain...

You've finished the north branch, which leaves the west and south branches. Which way? Teaser: both remaining branches contain Very Important Things. :D

West it is

You begin exploring the west branch, and discover it to be quite simple in layout: basically just a long, wide hallway that feels like maybe it's angled slightly downward (in the direction you're going). The air starts feeling colder and somewhat damp, reminiscent of a natural cavern.

The passageway terminates in a broad archway, opening into a vast room, its sides beyond the reach of your lights. Those of you with darkvision can make out the sides of the room, which are about 50ft to the left and right of you, and you have to walk a few dozen feet into the room before you can start to make out the far wall. It appears to house a massive door of some sort, some 30ft wide and reaching 40ft in height. You can't see the ceiling. In both corners of the back wall, something faintly glimmers, catching the light of your torches/spells ever so slightly.

Just as you take this all in, you hear something heavy shifting behind you. You turn to look, and see something massive perched atop the archway under which you entered the room. A reptilian quadruped, some 10 feet high at the shoulder, stands menacingly before you, its scales gleaming with a pearly iridescence. It has a long neck and tail, and broad wings that it stretches above itself as it lets out a mighty roar!

Massive icicles form instantaneously from the ceiling, their bases disappearing into the darkness above you.

My rolls have been stellar so far, lets hope they don't continue!

Thyra will size up the reptillian beast before her, in awe she seemed to hesitate as it unleashed its breath weapon taking the full brunt of the blow.

However, now determined to vanquish this foe she'll run forward, "Time ta die ya big frosty lizard!"

Spidre doesn't even try to get out. Instead he enjoys the temporary reprieve whilst mentally daring the dragon to come at him.

Thyra will struggle against these bonds, not one to be held back even by Ice.

Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 And with a roar and vicious crack, Thyra joins Pietro in bursting out of the Ice. Looking around and seeing Halsere still encased in ice, she'll run over, taking cover behind his ice block. "Ai'll get ya outta there Halsere, just don't freeze ya'r balls off, hah! A dragon, can ya believe it!"

She'll move with incredible speed, pushing her body to the limits to try and break Halsere out this turn, Athletics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 and a with a mighty punch, it'd appear she breaks Halsere out as well.

Action to break out, movement to move over to Halsere, action surge to bust him out as well

Concentration: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Staggering under the dragon's attack, Mirrel nonethtless manages to maintain concentration on his spell. Muttering a quick prayer, he stares up at the beast once more mocking it's ineffectiveness.

"Is that the best you can manage? Cooped up here bowing and scraping to your vampire lord...how pathetic!"

Third round of concentration on bane - dragon suffers -1d4 on attacks nd saves

Healing word on myself as a bonus action Healing: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Vicious Mockery - dragon must make DC16 Wis save or take 2d4 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4 psychic damage and suffer disadvantage on the next attack before the end of its next turn.

Ah crap, I just noticed that your previous Vicious Mockery was successful, but I forgot to use disadvantage on the attack against you. Let's see if it would have mattered:
1d20 ⇒ 18
Nope.

WIS: 1d20 + 6 - 1d4 ⇒ (6) + 6 - (1) = 11
Up to 132 damage now.

The dragon winces from Mirrel's spell!

A wave of cold spreads across the room, and a fresh batch of stalactite-sized icicles form on the ceiling!
Basically, the lair actions are a three-round pattern: first a sort of "recharge" (which on round 1, blocked your exit), then falling icicles, then the freezing. This round is the "recharge".

Halsere's turn!
Damage tally: 132

Halsere's desperate spell catches the dragon in the face, flaring brightly, and the scaled monstrosity collapses to the floor!

Out of combat. I'm guessing you'd be interested in a rest?
