Kyomi drops the enemy with a blast of fire energy.

Behind where the enemies were is a tunnel. You can hear a voice floating down the tunnel toward you. It is recognizable as Janira. You can venture up that tunnel and see where it leads, or go back and explore the other passage from the pool chamber.

I will go with the first path to get 3 votes

Lancyn strains to hear what the voices are saying. Listening for any distress.

Let's go save our Halfling friend states the paladin.

"Remember, we were tasked with mapping these tunnels. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to fail my confirmation."

Having been too engrossed in his ineffectual duel with a cunning Kobold , Malcharion spins as the scaled creature is brought down in a gout of flame, barely singing the corsair's eyebrows.

"Well played! I must admit, I am a little terrified at the power at your fingertips!" he says with a laugh, relishing the cool water around his knees. "I concur! If Janira is still alive we would be remiss to rescue her! Even if she begged us not too. First, someone should drink these?"

I would like the Barkskin potion, also have the featherstep if someone wants that? Lasts 30 minutes so should be alright.

Ok, so we are moving on, toward Janira's voice.

You hear the voice again, drifting down the tunnel. As the legendary Gregaro Voth successfully battled the wild beasts in the deepest reaches of the Mwangi Expanse, so shall I defeat you, foul servant of Lamashtu!

It is Janira and it sounds like she and the minotaur are still engaged in battle. You advance along the tunnel for 15 minutes and eventually arrive at the surface.

The light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, and light illuminates a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy.

As you emerge into the daylight Janira once again speaks You vile beast! I know not what drives your black heart, but I shall not fail in my duty. I shall see you driven from this forest, back to the hills from whence you came!

The stream requires a DC15 swim check to wade through and the log requires a DC7 acrobatics check to cross at half speed

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

"Janira, we are on our way."

Garzen runs towards the stream, only barely managing to jump to its other side, landing with a puff of dirt.

Run action and jumping over the stream.

"Just as ugly as I remembered it!" Malcharion laughs before he follows Garzen's example and takes off at a run, eating the ground up in a blistering pace. Taking a deep breath as he reaches the stream, Malcharion bunches his legs and prepares for a powerful leap.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

His leap is easily enough to allow the Corsair to clear the swift moving stream, drawing his serrated blade as he does so, spinning on his heel to face the minotaur.

The hakf elf will rush t to the edge of the bridge.

The beast is mighty! We should draw it to ourselves , use missile weapons if you can

Omniel moves up and fires his bow at the minotaur.

Seeing you rush into the clearing Janira seems to strengthen slightly. She begins to shout one of her tales “And it was Selmius Foster’s race against a marid and efreeti on the isle of Jalmeray, which taught us that nothing is truly impossible and every situation can end in victory.”

Inspire courage. You all receive +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls

Kyomi's energy strikes the minotaur, but Omniel's arrow bounces off its tough hide.

Janira moves to make range for herself and flicks her whip out in an effort to take the minotaurs axe from it.

Whip disarm: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7

The whip sails past the axe, missing it completely.

Going to bot Lancyn

Lancyn moves in the direction of the log, reasoning that the log is a safer way to cross the river than swimming in heavy armour.

The minotaur moves to close the range with Janira and swings its axe at her.

Axe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11
Axe second swing: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 1) + 4 = 10

The axe swings miss Janira as she dodges around them.

Sorry guys I goofed slightly with the minotaur's HP. I misready an 18 to attack and an 18 damage from Kyomi. Keep going though, doing great

Another bolt of energy from Kyomi strikes the minotaur and it is clearly injured by the blast of fire.

Omniel's arrow again bounces off the minotaur. this time off its left horn.

Talondreal deals a mighty blow to the minotaur on the end of his charge.

Garzen follows Talondreal's example, charging with his axe of stone. The dwarf seems to push to his limits on this attack, making it exceedingly forceful. However, his minotaur adversary is too swift, and the attack fails to connect.

Kinetic Blade + charge: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11, Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Charging with Kinetic Blade, taking 1 point of burn for Pushing Infusion.

With a laugh which reaches his eyes, Malcharion geatures to the Minotaur like the hero in a tale, his blade weaving an impressive pattern. "Beware foul beast! For we havr come for you, to rescue our comrade, the maiden fair."

Charging in, he ducks under the creatures axe and brings his sword across his body to cut at the Minotaur's powerful chest.

Garzen charges the minotaur, but is unable to land a blow however Malcharion is able to make a solid hit with his sword.

Janira speech finishes Inspire ends as she moves away from the minotaur with speed full withdraw action

Lancyn reaches the log and attempts to cross without slipping.

And Lancyn makes it to the other side without falling into the water.

Seeing that it is outnumbered and wounded the minotaur attempts to flee. The minotaur makes it off the map, however Talondreal has a AoO if he would like to take it

After a brief pause she continues. How did you investigation of the caves go? Did you find anything of interest? Remember as agents we must record our findings in detail

Ok, explore the cave if you want or head back and be Confirmed, hopefully. I will start on chronicles today. If you have not provided your info in the discussion thread, please do that.

I have made it back earlier than expected.
Lancyn goes to the fallen minotaur and gives it a good swift kick.
"Janira thank you for your accolades but are you ok? Do you need healing or are you able to cast yourself?"

"If Janira is badly hurt, we must take her to the Lodge at once. If she can take care of herself, we should finish mapping out the cave to ensure a successful Confirmation."

Not sure if exploring the rest of the cavern has any implications on the scenario's rewards; if not, I think we can just assume we completed it.

Sighing at the creature's blood on his fine coatt, Malchaion goes to wash his Sword in the river before sheathing the serrated blade with care. "Well done all! That creature looked like it hit hard!" he says with a whoop and rummages through Janira's pack. "I am sure there is something in here you can use!"

Thanks to Apsu, the minotaur did not do more damage to us. I am glad that no one was hurt or even killed. remarks the paladin.
