Allow me to introduce Morold the King of Monsters, Human Packlord Druid.

Character is in the profile. However, as far as the answer to the three questions...

1. Why are you aboard the ship?
"Voices in my head... from mother... the mother of beasts. Tells me to go... go deeper into the darkness, into the forest... Don't know where they'll lead. Can't swim the ocean... needed to go... go deep..."
2. At which port did you board, or are you a stowaway?
"Don't know... think it was around the place people call Bloodcove. Hoped into the cargo, along with my cat. No one was watching. It was night.
3. What are your plans for the character mechanically?
Overall, plan to be a battlefield controlling summoner and sometimes melee combatant. Also, I can fill the role of party healer. The Packlord archetype allows for a druid to take multiple companions. I plan to use those companions to protect fragile characters in the party and maneuver enemies into favorable flanking positions for the melee fighters in the party. Feats that I plan to take have mostly to do with summoning. As soon as I get wildshape, I'll use it occasionally in combat, but won't be a primary frontline fighter.

Hope that covers it. Is my profile complete? Do I have everything you want, DM Idyll?

Also, high ranks in Survival and Kn(Nature)come in handy in a jungle campaign.

Actually Timor ended being Bard (Daredevil), not rogue (everything is noted in Alias). Just FYI...

Well, that's discouraging, as I've been working on this flamboyant fellow for the past while.

Cedric is a fun-loving, thrill-seeking, skirt/trouser-chasing traveller, with a knack for making people either hate or love him.

1. Why are you aboard the ship?

"Me? That's a funny story... I may have, inadvertently, and through no fault of my own, upset a few people in the shackles, but that was only because they took irrational offense at being paid in coins that were actually wood, and they couldn't deal with the rejection from their loved ones who liked me more than them. Ahah, seriously though, traveling and accidentally being swept up in adventure is the only way to live. There's nowhere I'm more interested in being than where I am, and if that's the Jenivere, so be it. To be perfectly honest I was also following that half-elf who boarded with me at Peril, although she doesn't seem to be in any mood for fun... That first mate is cute too, although with Kovack riding him so hard I don't think there'd be room for me."*wink*

2. At which port did you board or are you a stowaway?

Port Peril, see above.

3. What are the plans for your character mechanically?

I plan to stay with Arcane Duelist, specializing in support and battlefield control through spells and social abilities. I'll likely pick up the Dazzling Display tree when possible, as well as some maneuver feats to make use of the whip.

In regards to the conversation with Alton:

"Of course, Alton, I'm more than happy to help wherever I'm needed."*bow* "If you'd like I could have a word with some of the men, perhaps? I'm not implying you can't handle your own sailors, but I notice you've got a lot on your plate right now, and the captain seems to enjoy refilling it. Just make sure to let me know if there's anything else I can help with, I've certainly got nothing better to do!"

Here is my submission. Brennan Darkblade, a half-elven rogue with...issues.

3 questions:

1. Why are you aboard the ship?
Brennan is on the run from The Guild. A shadowy organization throughout The Riverlands and Cheliax that is a combination of Thieve's and Assassin's Guild. He decided that his nature wouldn't countenance the evil tendencies of The Guild, and broke his membership in the only way possible...by running.

2. At which port did you board or are you a stowaway? Boarded at Ilizmagorti (see trait), with an eye to go anywhere and fast. Brennan is looking to redefine himself and make a name (and a lot of gold to pay off the Guild) for himself.

3. What are the plans for your character mechanically? Brennan is skilled with knives and short blades of all kinds. He is going for the Knife Master and Scout archetypes to make the build work both mechanically and in-character. I envision a smallish half elf, with dark mottled skin, blending into the shadows, with knives in hand, ready to throw or a quick run and stab.

In regards to Alton's initial question:
Morning, yeah it is. A good one I mean. Not to be hasty, but we were wondering when you are leaving? We don't care where to, we'd just like to be on board when you go. We'll work for our passage. We have keen eyes and can act as lookout. We also grew up on a riverboat, and so are familiar with ship workings.

1. Why are you aboard the ship?
Mr Bingul is woking as a look out for now, and checking out any old relics that may pop up in the cargo manifesto, but he’s looking for a land fall and a good dig site.

Jeniver in llismogarti its why Mog is called Mog.

3. What are the plans for your character mechanically?
Why write the definitive work on Mwangi green Pottery and become alarmed by my pears.

All right everyone, we've got a great list of applicants and I'm about ready to make the final decision. Please get any additional character details or applications added in the next eight hours. I'll close the recruitment and make my final decision.

Here's the Latest List:
Timor, Half-Elf Swashbuckler (Daredevil)
Valk Grof'Ker, Half-Orc Falconer (Ranger)
Pyrra, Half-Elf Cleric of Besmara (Face and Heals)
Gelik Brittlefinger, Gnome Alchemist (Trapfinding, Poisons, Utility)
Jindariel, Elven Diviner (Damage)
Darbur, Human Barbarian (Melee)
Meroc, Halfling Fighter
Pedro, Gnome Druid
Azure Zero, Changeling Fighter (Damage)
Morold the King of Monsters, Human Packlord Druid (Battlefield Control)
Cedric Valentine, Human Arcane Duelist (Face and Battlefield Control)
Brennan Darkblade, Half-Elf Rogue (Cutter of People)
Mr Bingul La-Foom, Gnome Summoner (Not Sure of Role)

I don't have all the details worked out, but I do have a cool character concept I'd like to submit.

(Currently unnamed) aquatic halfling sorcerer.

He's a former slave that stowed on the ship to escape his master. He's been hiding his abilities, but as they gain power it's been harder and harder. He doesnt want to be a slave and certainly doesn't want his unkind master to exploit his power. He feels very confortable at sea and when he was with his master on the dock carrying his purchases there was a commotion and (Unnamed) saw the opportunity to run and took it. He stowed away on the ship that looked like it was leaving.

Aquatic sorcerers look to be designed as controller/utility characters. I may throw in some blasting just for fun.

It can be any port, really. Having it be the current or last port would probably be best though.

Edit: If this looks interesting enough to you (the DM) I'll do a full stat up and pick a name.

Go for it, coffee. We have no other sorcerer in the mix.

GM Idyll wrote:

I'll work on it over the next few hours, but I'm at work, so it may be slightly incomplete at the deadline. I'll get the majority done though.

No worries, Coffee.

Azure, are you going to do any more with Vita?

Slight change of plans. Human Seaborn (Aquatic wildblooded) sorcerer. I'd like to make her a 15 year old girl, but without the young template. Still considering the name.

She is young, but stunning. Initially I'll play her as shy, but as she comes into her powers and gains confidence she'll get over that.

Since she is a runaway slave I'll have her start with no gear.

Build so far:

Str 10, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 13, WIs 10, Cha 18 (+2 racial included)

BAB+0
F-+1
R-+2
W-+2
HP - 7
Eschew materials
Arcana: +1 Cl while in water (at least floating)
Water blast - 30' touch knocks prone or pushes 5' Ref 15(10+cha+1/2sor) negats 7X/d (3+cha)
S/d=3-1st level
S/K= 4/0lvl 2/1lvl

Just need to pick spells and feats and that's basically it other than calculating CMB and such.

At school, doing homework, most of the character is finished, just need to do equipment, backstory and some persona details.

Ok, this is what I have so far, but I am open to suggestions.
I think her name is Miranda. Of course this is the name her master gave her, so it may or may not be her given name. She has no memory of her real parents.

Part of her back story is that she was a pearl diver for her master before he decided that she was pretty enough to be an "inside slave."

Also, I'm on an ipad so I cant download the players guide right now. I need a campaign trait that woudl be appropriate. If anyone knows of a good one that woudl be appropriate for a pearl diving former young slave that'd be much appreciated. I'm fond of the ones that make a skill a class skill. If I could find an appropriate one for perception that'd be fantastic.

Spells known-

1= Obscuring mist, Mage Armor (may change that, but it's fine for now)

Trait1-Focused mind- +2 concentration checks (There are lots of thing she has had to block out over her short lifetime)

It's morning on the Jenivere. As you arrive onto the deck you see Alton Devers, the ship's first-mate. He appears to be trying to calm a couple of the sailors. As you approach, he finishes talking with them and turns to you. He smiles and quickly says, "Good mornin' to ya. What are your plans for the day? If ya' aren't too busy, we could sure use an extra set of hands today. You could help mop the deck, climb to the crow's nest and serve as lookout, keep an eye on the prisoner below decks, or do whatever suits your fancy." What do you choose?

Since some folks have been responding to this, in addition to the previously requested three questions and stats, I'm jumping on that bandwagon! Or sea-faring ship, as the case may be.

Darbur brows draw down slightly as he notes the sailors fear, but does his best to dismiss the expression as Alton Devers approaches. As the tanned first-mate is speaking, the large barbarian has almost comical difficulty meeting his authoritative gaze, "Sir. Helping where's I'm needed I am." He waits a few seconds, looking above and to the left of the mans head, "If'n ya don't mind, the prisoner below I'll be guardin." He starts away, and then hesitates, clearly uncomfortable with questioning Alton, "Sir, just who to be guarding, sir? Anything to be known first?" After the answer, Darbur's serious expression never wavers, and he nods slowly before heading below.

He asks those he runs into along the way, "Prisoner?" until he arrives at the correct cell. Staring at the cell door for several seconds he finally loosens the overly long flail from his shoulder, sits across from the cell, and lightly grips the flail between his bent legs. He sets the flail-head swinging gently from side to side, not unlike a pendulum, and stares blankly at the hypnotic motion, thoughts swirling behind green eyes.

Here's Gark, gnome druid. The stats are still not ready, but it gives you an idea... background is in the profile.

Mechanically, he'll probably be a melee type, kind of a hunter, with some utility spells such as cure and nature-related things. Survival and stealth are important skill for him, so he can track and stlalk. Combat feats will allow him to be a good melee support fighter.

I really wanted to have a low Intelligent score, slightly above an animal intelligence, so it's not as much a dump stat as it is part of the character's concept.

He'll play well with others characters in the party once he sees them as his pack. He has a CN alignment but behaves as CG towards his pack members.

Very. Thank you.

My campaign trait: Going to pick acrobatics I think.

Jenivere Crew: This trip to Eleder is just one of many in
a long career as a sailor aboard the Jenivere and other cargo
vessels. Whether you joined the crew with the hope of one
day captaining your own ship, as the means of paying your
way to a foreign port with sweat and blood, or as a slave
or indentured servant, you now call the ship home. Pick
one of the following skills: Acrobatics, Climb, Knowledge
(nature), Knowledge (geography), Swim, or Survival. You
gain a +1 trait bonus on that skill, and that skill is always
treated as a class skill for you.
Characters with this trait have likely been on the Jenivere
since it departed Magnimar.

When the first-mate abruptly greets the crouching gnome, Gark recoils with a frown, but quickly relaxes again, staring attentively at the man as he speaks. He remains still for a while after the first mate finishes his request, trying to make sense of his options. He looks up measuring the masts heights, looking for the crow's nest, and then stares at the first mate yet again, circling the man and moving towards the ropes that take up to the watch post. Gark approaches the ropes cautiously, and suddenly jumps and starts climbing as quick as he can.

Climb 1d20 ⇒ 12

Maybe I'll make her 18 yrs old to cut down on any potential ick-factor. Still naive and mentally child-like, but not biologically.

Meroc is not a people person, and does not care much for anything or anybody. That being said, as as another former slave, if anybody looked at her in such a way to induce ick factor, they would then be distracted with wondering why both their feet were cut off.

Meroc's plan is to chop the feet off of those attracted to Miranda?! lol I find that both hilarious and awesome. haha

Meroc (or Mouse as he is called, because he is not going to give you his name) will chop the feet off of anybody who gives him a problem. He does not like people. But as a former slave himself, he can be a bit, shall we say, protective of other former slaves.

Mr Bingul La-Foom, acts as the ships super cargo, looking after the loading, ordering and placement of cargo, keeps the books and looks after the port loading and off loading. But he seems restless and always reading his notes on Summoning. Part role is a mixed of combat and support, healer if he has the scrolls.

Hello GM Idyll,

It looks like you already have quite a bit of creative and interesting player submissions, so I don't know if another would be productive. I was leaning towards a Varsian Sorceror myself.

Posting with my Darbur alias to make the player profile more accessible.

I have this gnome sorceror who missed out-- but was thinking of a halfling summoner outrider (riding his trusty cat eidolon with his small lance).

This is looking good guys.

Question:
Given the ARG will come out in a month or two, would you allow us to use any of the material and do swap outs when it comes out?

All right everyone. Great applications. Seriously. You made this more difficult than I anticipated.

That said, I've made my decision and the following five players have been selected.

Timor

Pyrra
Jindariel

Azure Zero
Tiny Coffee Golem

You five can head on over to the discussion thread and finish up your character sheets.

To everyone else, thank you so much for applying and I apologize that it didn't work out this time. If, as is common, any players drop out, I will come here first for any alternates.

Thanks again.

Thank you it was fun to make a pos PC for, all the best with the game.

Good luck to all!

Ditto, let me know if you need another player for any reason

Thanks for the opportunity, perhaps next time!
