hahahahaha! Okay, you made me laugh

Korim starts recovering the torches "Either they aren't dangerous or they are terrified of my reckless display of bravery." He packes back the items and heads near the broken statue's head. "Maybe we can sell this to an antiquarian." and he stuffs the head too.

Can Korim discern the kind of material the statue is made of?"

Laknir stays behind while these two poke and prod various structures. Impressive work on that plate. Here's hoping for more success. Korim, I think we should wait until we find something obviously valuable before we start weighing ourselves down. He holds out his arms.

I've had quite a bit of experience figuring out how much I can carry. Answer: Not a whole lot. I'm pretty sure I'm at most two twigs away from a problem here.

Korim gazes back to Laknir with a smile "The thing is, Master Laknir, that dwarves like me are built fer carryin'. I won't get weight down easily, plus this head will be a nice memento fer me project." and he starts walking over the plates, advancing inside the building. "Shall we?" he asks pointing forward with his trusty axe.

A project? Of what sort? Laknir's interest piques as he walks down the hallway.

Ladies first? Or should I play vanguard?

Korim almost whispers, as if what he have to said is a private secret only for him and friends "A tavern of sorts. I want to build a nice inn and tavern in a nice place so I can have nice clients with nice adventuring stories." and then he smiles. The most sincere smile he habe put on his long life.

From Braena’s position stretches a 750 foot causeway with slots in the ceiling that allow sunlight to filter in and illuminate the piles of sand that have acculmulated under each slot. Elaborate carved reliefs, their paint now faded with time, cover the walls on both sides of the passage, depicting the legendary deeds of a great pharaoh.

The causeway appears to be partially obstructed at the halfway point by some sort of carved pyramid.

While they advance Korim keeps checking for traps. He tells Braena "This place looks perfect fer a trap, check the walls while I check the floor, will ye, m'lady?"

Amused by the kobold's offer for her to lead the way, she tosses her hair and heads down the causeway. Walking along with Korim, she happily keeps an eye out for traps along the walls and ceiling.

perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

As they converge on the pyramid, she looks to the dwarf, "what do you think? Is it a model of the structure we are approaching, simply a decoration, or perhaps some kind of key? Any sign of traps?"

The pyramid appears to have been fitted with stone logs that would allow someone to more easily move it.

Korim fondles his beard while staring at the thung. "Judging by the logs under the pyramid this would either be a trap or whoever build this left it without finishing to move. Just in case, don't touch it."

Can we pass around it or there isn't enough space?

There is enough space to climb over it with relative ease, but not enough to simply walk past it.

Ahhh, thank you.

Once you're within forty feet, the pyramid shudders violently and barrels forward at an alarming speed.

See, now if Korim got his +4, we would be so in sync this thing couldn't possibly handle our style.

Turn order:
. pyramid
. Laknir, Ashmed, and Braena
. Korim

The pyramid rushes towards Korim, threatening to trample him.

Make a Reflex save.

trample damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Korim shoots into the air like some sort of dwarven missle, allowing his armor to absorb most of the impact as he skids across the pyramids surface, miraculously landing just behind it on his feet.

Korim takes 5 bludgeoning damage.

Laknir, Ashmed, and Braena can now take their turns in any order. I will write Ashmed's turn assuming he doesn't post by the time Laknir and Braena have gone.

Male Kobold Inspired Blade Swashbuckler 1/Occultist1|| HP: 12/12, AC: 19 (FF: 16 T: 14) || Init: +3, Fort: +3 Ref: +5 Will: +2 || Per: +6

Laknir will make a dash past his party members to end up in front of Braena, leaving a flank option for her, and lunging with unexpected ferocity at the pyramid. He gets into a more proper combat stance as well with Combat Expertise. AC 22 now. Actually, is Korim flanking with Laknir if he does end up one square ahead of where Baena is? I'll assume not for now.

Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Swing and a miss.

Unsure as to how to confront the moving pyramid, Braena relies on the basics, and drawing her maces steps forward and attacks the rolling stone machine.

melee attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
damage (bludgeoning): 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Despite landing a solid blow, Braena's mace still bounces harmlessly off of the pyramids stony exterior, leaving hardly a scratch.

haha, hardness strikes again.

Well, while Laknir is rising a rather precise *hehe* point, I don't think targeting the vitals of a pyramid will work. Nor crits. Unless it isn't a pyramid. Which I doubt. What the hell are we fighting?

Your welcome to try for a Knowledge Arcana check.
You know....the skill none of you have.

Ashmed sits cross-legged on the ground and begins chanting in a low guttural tone, his eyes misting over.

GM screen:
16 - 8 hardness= 8 damage
Korim's viscious swing meets with the stone face of the pyramid and actually manages to create a sizable crack behind. Still, he gets the impression that his blow didn't deal as much damage as he would have liked.

The pyramid changes direction almost immediately, attempting to slam into Korim, though he is able jump back just in time.
Slam: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

sneak attack: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

added to the 6 damage earlier yields a total of 17

Korim says "Easy there, ye damned... thing?" just before trying to uppercut the stone pyramid.

Power Axe: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

And in that precise moment he learned that there are better ways to kill a murder landmark than uppercutting it.
Standard to attack, five feet back and move to draw the shield

Braena's mace connects with an audible "CRACK", but like Korim, the blow seems diminished somewhat.

GM screen:
17 - 8 hardness= 9 damage

Appearing to have edited his torpor state, Ashmed stands, rising to his full height...and continues rising, his body expanding like a sponge until he towers over the party like some green skinned giant. The completion of Ashmed's spell coincides with him drawing his glaive and bearing it down on the rolling pyramid. The glaive hits with enough force to smash a sizable chunk off of the pyramids top.

crit damage: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 4) = 11

Actually, since I had to use the Order of the Eastern Star, I do have Know: Arcana, and planes.

Know: Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 Add +1 to total if the check counts as occult or supernatural.

Laknir steadies his footing and lunges once more at the Pyramid object.

Korim's axe comes in at an awkward angle and deflects off of solid stone, likely causing more damage to his weapon than to the construct.

GM screen:

my apologies, was confused on round progression

Braena swings both her maces at the small pyramid from her advantageous position.

main hand attack, flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 2 = 12
off hand attack, flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 2 = 24

off hand damage, flanking: 1d6 + 2 + 2d6 ⇒ (5) + 2 + (6, 6) = 19

Braena stumbles as she swings, missing entirely with her main hand. Luckily her off hand strikes a sensitive spot, the mace caving in the stone around it as if it were butter.

The light from within the pyramid flickers and then finally goes out, leacing the construct a mere broken statue.

Still, good work everyone, lets hope things keep going that well.

Braena looks down at the kobold and frowns. "Umm, yeah, I have to agree with Korim. We just beat an undead pyramid to death. Pretty grand start to the exploration of this ruin, if I do say so myself..."

Quite pleased with herself, she looks around at the miniature pyramid to see if it might have any secrets hidden within.
