Laknir Kii |
Laknir's not really a money type of guy, but he would be willing to work with people who are. If it's a tomb with magical guardians and whatnot, then he'd have probably been sent to investigate the specific properties of the place. Anyone know how they might know the little guy? Of all the people in the party, he does need the best excuse not to get punted out of whatever tavern we meet up in.

A larcenous rogue with a lust for adventure, yeah, a hired gig makes sense.
@Laknir, just because you wouldn't be as motivated by the pay, hearing about the chance to investigate a forgotten magical tomb could be your motivation for signing on for a paid gig, with the pay just allowing for other investitures after.
And we are all pretty out there. A half-orc, a kobold, a tiefling, and a catfolk. I KNOW! We are all members of "Outcasts Anonymous"!

I'm thinking Laknir could've ended up in Osirion after escorting an archaeologist. I bet he would relish the challenge of facing the various dangers a desert environ would present.
What do you think?

That's kind of what I mean't he wouldn't turn down a reward (that would be rude!) but it isn't his thing.
I mean, the others aren't usually seem as enemies to civilization anyway.

You could wear a disguise unless you think Laknir is too proud.

Sorry, ninjaed me there. I think that would work. As for the disguise, I think that could be fine temporarily, I don't know how long that would work.

Got into gaming almost 15 years ago - was hanging out at a friend's house, next thing you know the dice come out. Ended up really enjoying it. Played across D&D from 2nd edition down through Pathfinder, a good chunk of Vampire the Masquerade, and a smattering of other systems (CoC, 40k rpg, etc.). I've spent some time behind the GM's screen, though have far more experience as a player. I relocated with my girlfriend a while back and have not found a welcoming gaming community in my new locale. As such, I recently started exploring an interest in PbP.

I've been playing a lot of short-lived games on and off for about three years now with the same group. I've GMed a few times, almost exclusively with homebrew stuff. Not for very long stretches of time unfortunately.
Korim Armadar |
Korim Armadar finally complete and reporting in.
Let's talk bussiness: Korim is an "outcast" in the sense that he doesn't feel like he belongs to his dwarven keep and prefers a life of wandering until he gets enough money for his retirement plan.
He's good hearted but prefers not to blur his mind too much with laws and such, afterall if you follow your common sense and are a good person that's the only rule you'll need.
That's just so you all feel him a bit without having to bore you down through his backstory. Now that he and you all know, what could be our common backstory? I'm excited to start working with this bunch of ragtags!
Korim Armadar |
@Ashmed: I'm fine with that! Can you tell me one thing or two about your backstory or something? The full one isn't in your profile, and I guess Ashmed would share a story/detail or two while travelling, not his whole life hahahaha
@Hyde: Korim cares not for the color of your skin or the name of your kin. He cares for two things when working with people: If they are liable underground and if they are to be trusted when dividing the loot.
Specifically talking about Laknir... he seems like a loyal friend. A Lawful Good flashy kobold cavalier bent on justice. I'd be his Gimli without a doubt.

Hey, hey. Dragon dra-gon not lizard. I don't do that tongue thing.
All set to go whenever you are.

Before we start, I just wanted to reiterate that a post per day is what I'm hoping for from everyone. That isn't an ultimatum, I just think it's something we should all strive for. Beyond that, don't be afraid to let me know if I'm doing something wrong. I need all the input I can get.
Whelp, I'm gonna open up the gameplay thread. Dot when your ready.
