Nori turns on her heel and stares at the devil. She steps back to the circle, "Swear it?" She figured if he did attack, he would find a surprise behind the door she entered from.

Assuming he does, she gives the table a nudge over the line.

As Nori pushes the desk over, the creature clambers over and gets to the other side of the circle. "Freedom! Sweet, glorious freedom!"

Akrom then points back to the desk. "Inside the desk is a drawer with a book. You should find that valuable!"

Nori does find a book in the top drawer, it appears to be a bunch of names. Before she can start reading names, Akrom begins to move out of the room.

"Ooo goody, was hoping I had someone to play with!", it says with diabolical glee, bearing wicked teeth at Jinx! "Said I wouldn't attack you, scaly one, but kitty here is fair game!"

Nori spun on her heel, leaving the book of names behind. She sprinted back into the hallway where the imp was struggling with her companions.

"You will die for your foolishness, you little bug!

A wind seemed to catch her long white hair, unraveling it from her hood. Then it took a life of its own and it shot out at the imp and attempted to catch him up in it.

The party then gangs up and makes short work out of the little devil!

Nori now gets a chance to look at the book; it's a name of various outsiders and their types. Easily valuable as part of the auction lot to someone who is interested in such shenanigans!

Nori slips up behind Jinx and presses the tip of the wand to the cat's back. With a word of magic, the wand pulsed and sent its energy into Jinx's body.

Thank you for waiting Nori! Guess we'll just go with your input there.

Jinx gets healed between Nori and Wakiyan, although the ragged party is ready for some respite. However, more floor beckons to be explored.

The southern hallway continues around to a door. After doing a rudimentary check for traps T10, the party finds nothing of note and opens the door.

The walls of this room are covered with arcane symbols. In the northern chamber, a wooden table sits against the eastern wall, with several items laid atop it. A bright light shines forth from an opening in the south wall.

Jinx slowly slinks ahead. She reaches the bend to the left where the bright light is shining through and finds an aura of light that is hard to look at ever from her position. It's almost blinding from her position and getting closer to it would almost surely be detrimental to her eyes.

You can try to close your eyes, although you aren't sure what good that will do. The light is incredibly intense.

FYI, new tech at work. everything is sooo locked down. No access to Paizo at all... In fact sites that register as resturant/food are block because he's heart is that black cold and evil... Yea tried to look up a recipe for dinner and was blocked.

Nori tries to shade her eyes as her eyes glaze over with a blue energy. She peers at the edge of the light, looking for tell tale signs of magic and what type it was.

Nori is shocked, and a bit surprised as she realizes that the given what she is barely able to seeing, it relates to the components of a spell she couldn't identify in one of Hunclay's spell books. It's seemingly a wall of light, once so intense that going through it may very well render the person permanently blind, even if the eyes are closed.

Nori can also tell that the spell is permanently placed.

A weak voice calls out from the other side of the light wall, albeit weakly. "Come to taunt my again, foul wizard?"

Upon hearing a different voice, the voice behind the light almost turns to delight. "Hunclay is dead? Oh thank the shades! But I do not know how to turn off this barrier. If there was some way to disable it... or just get me around it.", the hope now turning to despair once more.

The party thinks about it... but immediately cannot come up with a plan of action. Thinking that they have most of the place inventoried, they can perhaps turn in their mission, although the fact that Hunclay has a cave somewhere means that there may be more loot or other things to look at. And especially given the strange dangers and research here, it may be in the best interest of Belhaim to have it investigated... and there ought to be a reward in that, too! And also, perhaps someone in town will have an idea on what to do about the trapped person behind that wall of light.

Mayor Devy is pleased at the party's results who choose to ignore mentioning to her the particular demons faced below. She then has an assistant return with a large sack, filled with coins... 5000 of them to be exact, all gold! Darb's instincts are too strong and he grabs as many of the coins he can and runs out the door, never to be seen again... or will we?

Wakiyan takes his interest in the Green Faith to a new level and bids the party farewell as he leaves Jinx and Nori to their task. Knowing that they need new allies to aid them, they take the rest of their coins.

So GM is bad at numbers... everyone should be 4th level!
And Nori/Jinx, Darb just took Wakiyan's payment, so both of you still get your share of 1,250gp
