Luthor draws his rapier and moves to block the rat from doing, well whatever rats do.
[Draw Weapon; Move Action- SW, W]

Your turn, Illias.

(Moving the initiative order over here, since I was last post on the previous page. Saves me from having to look back for 50 more posts :P)

Initiative:

  • Luthor
  • Illias
  • Rats
  • Kurth
  • Zeriah

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias Draws his club and attacks the vermin in front of him head on.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Upon seeing Illias strike Titan
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 51d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

@GM:
something feels very wrong about the rolls i'm making. for attack rolls, i roll a d20 and do i just add my base attack or am i not adding something? the whole combat portion of things is still really foggy for me

You've got it right, Illias. Though with you stepping forward, Titan isn't able to make an attack.

MAP

Feel free to use the coordinates, if that makes it easier on you.

1d2 ⇒ 2
1=Zeriah
2=Kurth

The rats attack, with the third one moving up to Kurth (R,14).
(vs. Luthor):1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 miss.
(vs. Illias):1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 miss.
(vs. Kurth):1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 miss.

Their growl seems to be worse than their bite.

Kurth.

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

Kurth drops the wooden plank that he is holding, draws his sword and attacks the rat in front of him.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 6) + 7 = 15

Then he takes a five-foot step, over the stain on the floor that was a rat moments ago, to R13.

Silver Crusade

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Move to (T,11)

Zeriah lets off a fire bolt at the rat in front of Illias, but the spell fizzles.
Ranged Touch Attack:1d20 - 4 ⇒ (4) - 4 = 0

Round 2:Luthor

Sovereign Court

Male Human Cleric

Luthor strikes the rat with his rapier!

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 for damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Luthor makes a successful attack on the rat, giving it a vicious wound. However, the little beastie is still moving.

Illias.

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

Not my turn yet, but since I'll be offline for the rest of the day: If there is any rat left by the time his turn comes up, Kurth will attack it.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 1) + 7 = 13

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias swings his club at the rat in front of him once more

Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Dammage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

a fail on all accounts.....

The surviving rats take out their frustrations on Luthor and Illias.

(vs. Luthor):1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20; damage:1d4 ⇒ 3
(vs. Illias):1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20; damage:1d4 ⇒ 2

Fort Save, Illias and Luthor.

Kurth swings wildly, splintering a crate in the process.

Silver Crusade

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Zeriah draws his scimitar and moves next to Luthor (R,8).

Round 3:Luthor

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Sovereign Court

Male Human Cleric

Again, Luthor will strike the rat.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 for damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
[If the rat dies, then Luthor will move to the other rat]

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias and Titan move, ready to assist kurth, Illias to (S,13) Titan to (Q,14)

once there they give another attempt to dispatch the vermin.
Illias:
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Titan:
Attack(claw): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

In case there's rat left for Kurth to slay:
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 4) + 7 = 15

Confirmation (not that it would be neccessary in this case): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 1) + 7 = 14

Luthor dispatches his rat with ease. The last rat makes another attack against Illias.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16; Damage:1d4 ⇒ 2

Another Fort Save, Illias.

Kurth will move up and slay the final rat.

Combat is over.

You move the planks into place and easily slide the large crate onto more solid flooring.

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Once the crate is "safely" on the less rotting floor, Illias pulls out his crowbar to pry the case open.
If needed:Strength Check: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 1 = 19
Once open Illias begins digging through the crates contents, noting what he's pulling out, Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Once the box is found he hands it to Kurth to keep watch of it until we return to the Curio shop.

Illias removes a smaller mahogany box from the crate, which is what Karela wanted. The crate also contains 10 sets of masterwork thieves' tools, three flasks of alchemist's fire, a flask of acid, a dozen jars of various inks, a footprint book, adamantine weapon blanch, three bags of powder, a deck of marked cards, and two sets of average loaded dice.

You may take or leave any of the extra stuff.

You return to The Pickled Imp and Karela takes the box from you satisfied. He dismisses you politely but quite hurriedly and goes to the back of the shop with the box.

Your tasks finally complete, you head back to the Grand Lodge. However, a throng of people blocks the street ahead. A performance art group commandeers the street, drawing graffiti to create a jolly hellscape complete with illusory devils comically dancing around in circles. A few citizens avoiding the crowd slip off-street through a nearby alley, the only egress past the gathering.

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias pockets one of the Flasks of alchemist's fire, (if no one else wants any)the inks, and the footprint book.

Illias, wanting to get back to report to Valsin, considers the options given the current roadblock.
"if it's the same to all of you I think we should head through the alleys."

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

Kurth takes one alchemist's fire, the weapon blanch, and the bags of powder.
These items will disappear at the of the scenario, right?

What faction was Karela?

On the way back to the pathfinder lodge, Kurth is on the lookout for the mysterious woman that has been following them all day.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

To Illias he replies "Yes, lets take a shortcut ... Are these the same performers that wanted to buy your bear?"

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

"I'm not certain but I'd rather not find out. I would hate to disgrace the pathfinders this close to the end"

Sovereign Court

Male Human Cleric

Luthor takes the last Alchemist Fire, but nothing else. He follows Ilias and Kurth through the ally in order to make the best time back to the Lodge.

Yes, items go away at the end of the scenario. Karela is the head of the Sczarni faction.

You enter the alley, people trying to get through. Suddenly, you see four individuals in front of you looking at you intently, weapons drawn: a red-haired woman, a halfling with a handlebar mustache, a man with short light brown hair and the woman who has been following you all day. The red-haired woman puts on a mask and whistles to her companions. The other commoners quickly realize that this is a bad situation and quickly flee, leaving you and the four alone.

Deandre:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Halli:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

  • Halli

  • Illias
  • Luthor

Round 1: Kurth

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

Kurth draws his sword and warily eyes the ambushers.

"Friends, what can I do for you? Did you really follow us all day, only to ambush us in a dark alley?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (17) - 2 = 15
Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

He waits for their reaction.
Readying a Power Attack on the condition that any one of them is engaging in melee with him.

"You can at least die quietly!" the halfling bellows as he charges Kurth.
Rage, charge, power attack.

Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22; damage:1d10 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 Damn...

Kurth, make your attack.

The alleyway fills with mist as the blonde woman finishes reading a scroll. You can now barely see 5 feet in front of you.

GM Notes:
Obscuring Mist: 10 rounds to go.

You hear the uttering of another spell and some footsteps.

GM Notes 2:
Shield of Faith: 10 rounds to go. +2 AC for Deandre.

Silver Crusade

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Zeriah shouts into the mist. "Get Kurth back here!"

He moves north 5-ft. to allow Kurth to come back.

Ready Cure Light Wounds for Kurth.

More footsteps approach.

Illias.

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

Reduced to 1 hit point by a halfling? Oh, the irony.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 - 1 = 9
Damage: 2d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 7 + 2 = 20

Kurth swings his sword in what would have been a devastating blow to a human sized enemy. Unfortunately it goes several inches too high for the halfling that is charging at him.

Kurth would very much like to take a few steps back now. But since his turn is already over, and you can ready only one action ... help?

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias tentatively moves east 20 ft and north 5 feet and Titan moves 25 feet east and 5 feet north. Titan attempt to attack with claws in front of him to the east where Deandre was standing moments ago.
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Ledford charged Kurth, effectively blocking any passage forward. There isn't much you can do except help Kurth back and send Titan forward to fight the halfling (or vice versa).

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias pulls kurth back 15 feet and Titan funs forward to meet the halfling. Do rolls above apply or should I roll again?

Go ahead and roll again.

Silver Crusade

Male Human Inquisitor 1

Let's hope I'm good at something.

Cure Light Wounds:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Zeriah heals Kurth and you notice that the fog ends right before Kurth.

Updated MAP. The white outline shows the fog's area of effect.

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Rolls for titan
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Dammage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

20% miss chance for concealment:1d100 ⇒ 51

Titan's claws find their target, as you hear them tearing into flesh. Ledford laughs disturbingly.

GM Notes 3:
Ledford's current hp: 14

Luthor, you're up.

Sovereign Court

Male Human Cleric

Can I attack (touch attack) round this hard corner?

Yes.

Sovereign Court

Male Human Cleric

Luthor will reach around the corner to touch the halfing, causing chaos to fill his mind.

[dice=Touch Of Chaos]d20+2 [/dice touch attack].

Err...that post needs some editing.

Sovereign Court

Male Human Cleric

Eeek, to late to edit. Let me do that again.

Touch of Chaos: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 touch attack.

Luthor attempts to touch the halfling but some mist gets in his eyes, putting his aim off slightly.

Round 2: Kurth

Scarab Sages

M Human (Kellid) Barbarian 4

(currently at 8 HP)
"Thank you, Zeriah. Now lets get out of here."

"Luthor!" he screams, "time to get out of here! Take the bear and run!"

Kurth hurries back to the main street, calling for the city guard.
"Guards! Guards! Call the guards!"

If any street performer blocks the way, he will enter rage, charge and attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 2 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (4, 4) + 10 = 18
(8/12 turns of rage left; 10 HP including 2 temporary HP from rage)

Grand Lodge

Male Half-elf 1st Level Druid HP=Illias(8/8) Titan(9/9)

Illias grabs hold of titan and runs toward the street behind kurth.
"Sounds like a great idea, seems we'll have more luck getting through that crowd than these four"

The street performers are not willing to lay down their lives for Deandre so as Kurth swings his sword, they move out of your way. You head down the crowded avenue, footsteps hurrying behind you. You glimpse over your shoulder and see Larkin and Halli pursuing you, but no sign of Ledford or Deandre.

You reach a more open avenue with the two keeping pace behind you. Suddenly a hand cart comes rolling out in front of you.

Reflex Saves (DC15), everybody.

Silver Crusade

Male Human Inquisitor 1
