Valik recalls that ordinary zombies are slow, but slashing weapons are required to hurt them effectively. He does not recognized the creature that emerged from the water.

After quickly remembering that information, the monk successfully punches the horse-faced creature and tries to tumble away. He is unsuccessful in avoiding an opportunity attack, but the creature is unable to penetrate his defenses.

Quiella switches to her greatsword and cuts deep into the side of the (black) pegasus to the east of her.

Vailis' summoned eagles continue to press their attacks on the (red) pegasus to the south, and soon it is destroyed by the flurry of beaks and talons.

The Summoner then successfully casts a Corrosive Touch spell defensively and burns the (black) pegasus in the east with an acid touch. Afterwards, Vailis steps out of melee with the zombie.

I need to develop slashing arrows, it just seems like it could be possible.

Halkale seeing Quiella switch weapons realizes that he needs an arrow type he doesn't have to really hurt them, so he switches back to his normal ammo.

Whistling at Frostfur he gestures and Frostfur backs away from the pegasus. I assumed leaving would provoke. 5 foot step, unless that's too much to think a combat trained wolf would do.

Halkale, Frostfur can just take a withdrawal action to move up to double its speed away from the pegasus without provoking. I haven't really been enforcing the Handle Animal rules about animal companions, but since this is PFS I probably should be more diligent about that. I'll discuss it with you in the discussion thread later when I'm less tired.

Halkale fires two arrows which both hit the (black) pegasus to the east. It now appears much less sturdy on its hooves, as if ready to drop with another serious hit.

Frostfur moves out of range of the enemy as per Halkale's command.

Ophelia draws her holy symbol of Pharasma and channels positive energy to damage the undead. Both creatures appear to resist some of the damaging effect.

Although severely damaged, the (black) pegasus to the east attempts to slam Quiella, but only hits solid armor.

The other (white) pegasus stands up carefully in the greased spot, leaving itself open to an opportunity attack from Quiella. Sorry, Ophelia was still carrying a crossbow last time I botted her or otherwise she'd get an AoO as well.

Quiella attempts to take advantage of the nearby (white) pegasus standing up, but is perhaps too careful around the magical grease and misses.

Melufiuos electrifies his hand axe and steps forward to slash/electrocute the (white) pegasus in front of him. After this strong attack hits, now this pegasus also looks ready to drop with another strong blow.

Riddywipple continues to audibly mourn the fate of the pegasi, but if he does anything else in his invisible state, it is unclear.

The horse-faced creature emerges from the water and moves over to Valik to attack him. The monster's attack completely misses, somehow slamming a nearby bush instead of Valik.

Vailis, I believe summoned monsters will attack the last remaining enemy so you don't need to make the handle animal check if there is only one left. That being said, they aren't intelligent enough to set up flanks, they'll move to the first available space from which they can attack. I suppose a Handle Animal check could get them to fly up to allow others underneath to attack i melee, that would probably require a 'push' action.

Quiella advances closer to the melee surrounding the remaining enemy.

The summoned eagles converge on the horsed-face mimic, with both of the birds' bites hitting the creature. Vailis reloads his ranged weapon and shifts his position.

Valik moves into a flank with Melufiuos, but misses with his punch.

A cursory search of the area reveals the human body the zombie pegasi were eating. Other than the horse bites in the body, the cause of death appears to be a hoof to the head. On the body you discover a magical gauntlet, a bag of magical dust, and 500 gp.

Coming out of invisibility, Riddywipple looks over the corpse and begins wailing again, "Not poor Dougal too! No, no, no! Listen, he'd want you to use his stuff to defeat the foul monster than is killing all my friendlies. But we must move with the quickest of hastes to the cave to stop this terribleness!"

Once he calms down somewhat, Riddywipple identifies the two magical items as a Gauntlet of Rust and Dust of Disappearance based on his familiarity with Dougal.

As you prepare to the leave the area, Halkale easily spots a set of erratic hoofprints leading on ahead, with a smaller set of prints in some of the muddier areas. Riddywipple explains, "Maybe they are more of my pegasus friendlies turned zombo. I bet the evil necro tossed your pathfinding friend on the back of one them and led it back to her lair!"

I'll give you a bit to react to this and/or heal before moving forward.

Valik, immediately stops when he sees a threat hiding in the bush. He stares at it, not caring if it knows that he sees it. He tries to recall what it may be.

Nature: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27

In a whisper he says to the group, Everyone stop, I see a threat in the bush ahead. I remembering reading about these enemies in a book at the monastery while on a break.

Valik, will relay what he recalls about the enemy. He also tells if the creatures and any special attacks, than special defenses, the enemy may have.

After telling the others what he sees and remembers, Valik grabs a vial from his bandolier and gets it ready just in case.

Yes, I made a copy/paste error including Halkale's terrain bonus to the perception rolls in this case, but fortunately it doesn't change anything.

Valik recognizes the creature as a Twigjack. These tiny fey are vulnerable to fire, can teleport between bushes quickly, and can eject a cone of splinters and brambles at enemies. Although he does not see them yet, from the monk's description Vailis also recalls hearing that they are adept at sneak attacks.

Melufiuos and Ophelia see the twigjacks conferring with one another and preparing to strike. Valik only sees the one taking to a space in the northern bushes.

Quiella, make a Diplomacy check.

Mel is about to reach for his rapier when he hears Quiella repeat her phrase in Gnome and then again in Common. Impulsive as ever, her words steer him in yet another direction. He steps forward, points out the twig people and then very deliberately casts disrupt undead at the destroyed pegasus. Other than the cantrip, he is attempting to remain calm.

He is attempting to reinforce Quiella's words. His slow/deliberate casting of the cantrip is intended to allow anyone with spellcraft to easily tell what he is casting. He is trying to show that we are against the undead. Would that count as a delayed 'aid other' on her diplomacy roll?

Mel, I'll give Quiella a bonus to her Diplomacy check for your display, but it's still not enough to change their attitudes.

Halkale casts a spell to increase the damage capacity of his bow.

Melufiuos casts a spell and zaps the pegasus corpse with a ray of positive energy, but it doesn't appear to sway the twigjacks.

Valik waits to see the results of Quiella's attempt at diplomacy.

He does not have to wait long before the twigjacks step into their bushes and disappear. They reappear in nearby bushes to the west of the party.

The first (black) twigjack attempts to hide in the brambles, and afterwards only Valik and Ophelia can still see it.

The other (white) twigjack reappears much closer to the group and a cone of needles and brambles erupts from its body. Everyone but Melufiuos and Frostfur are hit by the spray. Everyone but Mel and Frostfur take 4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 6) = 13 damage from the splinterspray. A DC 14 Reflex save halves the damage to 6.
