So as long as no one starts looking at Mel as excess baggage, he will be as happy to welcome a strong arcane as he is sad to see that hammer go.

I also dont think Mel is mediocre at all, and I usually optimize all my characters to some degree. The magus class has a strong focus on melee so he will never be that good with a bow anyway. I really enjoy Mel's roleplay and he is a good sneak, and our only trapsmith, and together with Valik you guys make a great duo. Also with two feats Mel could be hitting harder than Moadis.
If you feel you want to improve your character's performance, not that you should, he is fine as he is, my advice would be to choose a role to focus and invest in that path. A shadow enchantment in your armor and a wand of darkvision via umd, maybe one or two more lvls in rogue, would help a lot in being a sneak.
The feats: Extra Traits with Wayang Spellhunter (Shocking grasp) / Magical Knack (magus) and Intensify Spell would up a lot Mel's dmg potencial.
And rods like quicken help a lot with spellcasters in general (but are expensive). Pearls of power are good but magus 4th lvl ability make them not essencial. Anyway as long as you are having fun with the character all is good.

Quick question about the alternative racial traits: would it be possible to take Fast Shifter? It makes shifting a move action instead of a standard one (trades out for Kitsune magic). It fits better with my idea for this character, but if I can't it's not a big deal.

I'm not sure how to approach this scenario. A) from the viewpoint of Quiella's Paladin code and B) "tactically" speaking; I'm not sure about Plate Mail (which I just magically enhanced) vs. Studded Leather. I was thinking about magically enhancing one of my weapons, but I can't decide which one, so I'll delay and buy a Strength Belt after this mission.

But I am thinking about a new rapier. Keen might be cool (crit on 15-20), but spell storing looks fun too.
So the cost of either of those is 2K, total, right?
Later, if I wanted to add the other, would it be just 2K more, or would I have to sell the one I had and buy a new one with both, for 4K?
Also, with the spell storing, can I start a game with it pre-loaded with something I can cast? Or do I have to burn a spell slot, right off the bat, to charge it? Can it be charged via a scroll?
One more clarification on the spell storing weapon. It says I can decide to have the weapon cast the spell as a free action, after I hit and damage a creature. I am assuming that if I critted, the spell would *NOT* be part of that crit as it was a separate action.
First, you need a magical rapier. To get that, you have to buy a masterwork weapon (weapon cost + 300 gp masterwork cost). Then you have to enchant the weapon to +1 (2000gp enchantment cost). To add a Keen quality to a weapon, the cost is the same as adding another +1 enhancement to it. So a +1 rapier costs an additional 6000gp to add Keen. The Spell-storing quality is also considered +1, so that costs 6000gp as well. If your weapon was already Keen and you wanted to add spell-storing, that would be the equivalent of a +3 which costs you an additional 10000gp.
I believe you can charge a spell-storing weapon between scenarios. It's actually less hassle in this campaign environment because you don't switch GM's. I don't believe the spell stored in the weapon counts a crit if the weapon attack roll crits, no.

Note that Adamantine, Mithral, and some other Special materials include the masterwork quality in their cost. Not Alchemical Silver or Cold Iron, though.

In the last few months the number of computer-using adults has gone up to 3 (from 2) and the number of working computers has gone from 5 to 1. And I've been looking for a job when I'm not watching the kids (since my wife has increased her hours to compensate). That's why my posting rate has fallen off.

Would you like to have Remove Disease cast on you? If so, would you prefer to spend 150 gp or 1 pp on that spell casting service? I think I am right, but I upgraded this computer to Windows 10 and the backed it back to Windows 7, so I lost some stuff, anything saved while in Windows 10, because...Microsoft.
I am thinking of adding adaptive to my bow, since we might start taking more ability damage, I don't want to lose the ability to lose my bow if I happen to take some strength damage. I need to wait on my armor until we get a much larger lump sum.

Quiella's change to Spirit Guide mostly means she loses the Inspiration Pool and regains one spell known (Detect Undead) from her mystery. I think it affects class skills, but not in a way relevant to me.

Apparently, #7–04: The Ironbound Schism fits in with the metaplot of Season 4, so I'm going to add that to the list of the scenarios for the campaign at the very end, assuming the majority of you haven't played it by then.
