Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

This is the OOC thread for the Blade of darkness campaign. Welcome players! I will be posting some more info here, and here we can do some ooc discussing and announcements if someone cannot post for a while for whatever reason.

So, let's do a headcount.

Narnel checking in...let's rock and roll!

checking in.

Qadira (Male Half-Elf Druid(Wolf Shaman):1)

Orson's reporting in!

(Human Oracle of Battle 1)

Here I am.

(Male Human Serpentine Sorcerer 1)

Tampalasan checking in!

(Note: he actually looks more normal than this...)

Is that everyone?

Qadira (Male Half-Elf Druid(Wolf Shaman):1)

I thought there was a few more, but still if its just us were a pretty quality group.

(Male Human Serpentine Sorcerer 1)

So it looks like we have:

Narnel - Elf Sniper - Archer/skillmonkey
Tilurn - Half-Orc Spirit Totem Barbarian - Striker/Tank
Orson - Hale-Elf Wolf Shaman - Controller/Skirmisher
Oberon - Human Battle Oracle - Tank/Divine
Tampalasan - Human Serpentine Sorcerer - Face/Arcanist

I agree, Orson, that's a solid group.

Oberon: I think you can choose one more first level spell. As an oracle, you receive the cures or the inflicts for free.

(Human Oracle of Battle 1)

I checked and you're right! Updating the character sheet.

So, when do we start?

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

Soon.

A little bit of pre-game information if you please.

All of you have, sometime ago, met a man called Cornelius Soolk. He called himself a professor of archaeology and other interesting subjects, and was certainly knowledgeable about the world and it's past.
Events have transpired so that you either owe him a favor or he has endeared himself to you greatly. Anyway, sometime ago (days maybe) you have recieved a letter. It was written in his hand (you have witnessed him writing a lot).

Here is the letter:
My friend, i am sorry that so much time has passed since we last saw each other. Needless to say, i have been very busy and have discovered some very ominous things. This letter is a call for help. I need you and several others, whom i deem are only ones with enough skill to see this to the end to come to the barbarian city of Caludar in the north. If you can, it would be ideal to arrive before the autumn equinox.

I hope to see you soon, your friend and ally

Cornelius Soolk

The city of Caludar is situated in the region of Kassar. It is a trade town, which usually gets it's population increased tenfold in autumn when there is a lot of trade happening and winter preparations are taking place.

I assume that it will be ok that all of you arrive on the eve of the autumn equinox?

I will now start a IC thread.

(Male Human Serpentine Sorcerer 1)

Updating avatar, to be more normal-looking.

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

A question. Do you want all of the rolls to be done by the [ dice ] feature, or can i roll some stuff like random encounters by myself?

Also, from 1 to 10, how graphic do you want the descriptions to be?

1 is no blood, kinda narnia-ish

10 is full on blood and gore horror movies style.

Roll with the dice feature, apart for "secret" rolls like opposed stealth check or indeed random encounters.

As for the gore, I think that 11 would be fine.

I agree with pixel mwuahhaha!

Shadow Lodge (Male Husband/10 Dad/10 Gamer/5 RPGer/1)

I'm fine with making some rolls behind the gm screen. As far as description goes 7 - 8 is fine with me.

I also concur with Pixel and Roidrage.

(Male Human Serpentine Sorcerer 1)

Feel free to make whatever secret rolls you wish.

As for gore, I'd prefer a 7-8, but if everyone else needs more, I won't stop them.

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

Also, to clarify, orcs trolls and ogres of this world are different from PF orcs, trolls and ogres... Orcs and ogres mainlu in appearance, and trolls by statistics too.

Here is how an orc looks.

Here is how a troll looks.

Unfortunately i couldn't find any good pictures of ogres...but imagine them as pf ogres but with less stupid and more evil faces.

Hei Hama, are you still with us?

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

I am there, i just had half my family over for several days. It was impossible to reach the computer, and i don't have internet at work.

I'm enjoying this pbp, please tell me it's not dead :(

Shadow Lodge (Male Husband/10 Dad/10 Gamer/5 RPGer/1)

I'm still here. Looks like his last post was in our thread on 11/10. I don't want this to die either. I think it's going to be fun.

I'm still here as well, I hope it survives! I'm having a lot of fun with you guys!

Hanging in there too!

(Male Human Serpentine Sorcerer 1)

Looks like we're all still here!

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

I'm posting today...sorry for the delay...life gets in the way...

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

A bit of info: I am having problems with my ISP at the moment, as they have come up with some ghost bills that we supposedly didn't pay, and has shut of our internet (i am posting this from my friend's home). I keep all paid bills in paper form and will be taking them to the ISP on monday. Unfortunately i do not have internet at work and do not posses a laptop with which i could go to some free Wi-fi coffee shop.
There is also an issue with my family who think that i am addicted to computers and forbid me to sit at one when they are around (idiots), and since i am at home for about 10 hours, eight of which are spent sleeping, you can see that my internet browsing time is at an all-time low.

I want to continue this pbp, and i will. It might be slow until my situation improves (i am moving out from my parent's house asap). I am having lots of fun with you guys, and your characters will be shaping the history of my campaign setting which is in the works. So bear with me and stay, please.

Thanks for the update Hama. I understand the delay. I will be available and ready when you are able to continue.

No problem, I am here and waiting. I am enjoying the campaign, the players and my character. Looking forwards to it...you can count on me.

(Male Human Serpentine Sorcerer 1)

I'm in a number of fast PbPs; a slower-paced one is quite welcome.

Qadira (Male Half-Elf Druid(Wolf Shaman):1)

I don't mind the slower pace either, so I'm around too.

Taldor (Male Dwarf Chemist 4)

I'll do my best to post once per day, or once per two days at least from now on.

Shadow Lodge (Male Husband/10 Dad/10 Gamer/5 RPGer/1)

That pace works for me.

Good for me!
