Male Aasimar (of gnomish stock) Druid 5 , Init: +1, Perception +12 w/60 ft Darkvision, HP: 38/38, F:+6, R:+3, W:+9, AC/T/FF: 19/13/17, CMD: 15, Stormburst 7/7

Cerin is leveled up and ready to go! Would we have time to buy a couple of items in the morning, and do you want to role-play it out or just take care of mundane stuff "off-screen"? I was wondering about the availablility of Wooden armor.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

Aight, sounds good to me. I'm up as well, ready to go.

Grand Lodge

Male Aasimar (of gnomish stock) Druid 5 , Init: +1, Perception +12 w/60 ft Darkvision, HP: 38/38, F:+6, R:+3, W:+9, AC/T/FF: 19/13/17, CMD: 15, Stormburst 7/7

As for the items we found:

Quiver with 17 arrows
Dagger
Set of masterwork thieves' tools
masterwork panpipes
ring of protection +1
box with 10 tindertwigs
smokestick
pair of silver earrings (25 gp)
artist's drawing kit (pencils, eraser, charcoal, inkpens, ink)
6 small pouches of gold dust (50 gp each)
8 small pouches of silver dust (5 tp each)
10 platinum nobles
25 gold ducats

The Masterwork Thieves' tools and the arrows should go to Kyrian, and I would say that the Ring of Protection should go to one of the front-line fighters, which looks to be Halvor and Krissina. I would be leaning more towards Krissina since if our healer drops we are in big trouble!

We could sell the panpipes (unless we want to give them to Ameiko) and the artist's kit.

The rest would come to 490gp which would be 98gp worth each. Cerin would like to take most of his in the platinum nobles, as he cannot carry much.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

Either way would be fine with me. I don't mind taking the thieve's tools as well, that'd help out for sure. But as I also got the bow from earlier, I won't argue if someone else wants the tools. Or if someone else wants the bow, then I can take the tools in good conscience. There's really nothing else I would need, aside from the gold of course lol.

So now that we're out of combat and we've kinda gotten into the plot once again, I do have a question for you Haladir, since you're in a better spot to really do it. I don't know if the rest of you saw, but it seemed to me as if Holden was just sticking to the book persay, and kinda letting loose ends fall off without notice. Obviously in my case, it would be the "lovely" stint with Shayliss, and I know for sure Lynnda and Uncle Jubrayl could certainly lead to more than it did. And then of course, we've all got our backstories. So question to you Haladir, are we going to stick through the book and let loose ends just fall off like they never happened? Or will some of these loose ends tie back in somehow to help give our characters a little more development aside from just what the plot does?

If you couldn't tell, I very much enjoy character development... :D

Your humble narrator

Believe me, I'm not a GM who lets plot threads lie!

The time isn't quite right yet, but I'll be PMing some of you regarding your backstories.

I'm posting from my phone right now-- not sure if I'll be able to get in a real update tonight.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

No problem.

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

I'm fine with the proposed loot-sharing, Cerin. There'll be plenty of opportunity for me to tank up later. :) I'll be leveled by the end of tonight.

Level 4 Tiefling Bard | Init +1 | HP 14/21 | AC 14 | S-/D+4/C+1/I+3/W-1/C+5 | Perc +0 | Insp [] | Bardic Insp 2/3 | 3/4x1st 1/2x2nd

Sounds good, if I am a front line, my AC is pretty poor for it.

Updated my sheet with gold and Ring of Protection.

Grand Lodge

Male Aasimar (of gnomish stock) Druid 5 , Init: +1, Perception +12 w/60 ft Darkvision, HP: 38/38, F:+6, R:+3, W:+9, AC/T/FF: 19/13/17, CMD: 15, Stormburst 7/7

The easiest way to divide it up would be 3 people take 2 bags of gold dust each, Cerin takes the 10 platinum nobles, and 1 person takes the 8 bags of silver dust, the gold and silver earrings, then the other 4 each give the last person 2gp.

I'm guessing that no place would have a small Masterwork backpack on hand so it would have to be custom made?

Your humble narrator

The following shops are open for business in Sandpoint.

Unlesss otherwise noted, all standard equipment from the Core Rulebook can be found at one of the shops...

Bottled Solutions: Alchemical items and potions of CL 3rd and lower from Core Rulebook.
Curious Goblin: Bookstore.
Fatman's Feedbag: The roughest bar in town, and a favorite hang-out of the local Sczarni, rumors persist that this is the place to ask if you're looking for contraband items (poisons, drugs, etc).
The Feathered Serpent: Magical supply shop. Spell components, spell scribing materials, other magical supplies, plus a changing assortment of magic items. Proprietor Vorvalshi Voon often has wands for sale, but they're usually second-hand and not fully charged... although they're priced as if they were!
Hanna the Healer: Storefront for Hannah Velerin, priestess of Gozreh, midwife, and traditional healer. She sells magical and non-magical healing, and often has healing kits, medical supplies, herbs, and alchemical remedies for sale. She occasionally has curative potions for sale as well.
Kesk's Jewelery: Gems and jewelery.
Pillbug's Pantry: Apothecary. Medicines & alchemical remedies. (Includes alchemical healing items from Advanced Players Guide.) There are rumors "Pillbug" can also mix up poisons.
Red Dog Smithy: Blacksmith. Items of iron and steel; 50% chance per week that a masterwork item is available; special orders accepted. There are rumors that smith Das Korvut had been trained in ancient dwarven weaponsmithing techniques, but since the Chopper killed his wife and son five years ago, he mostly just makes horeshoes.
Rovanky Tannery and Leather Goods: Leather clothing, armor, and other gear. Normal and masterwork leather goods from the Core Rulebook are available; other items can be special-ordered.
Sandpoint Boutique: Higher-end store that sells unique or unusual clothing, toys, artwork, and other baubles. Proprietor Hayliss Korvaski frequently has masterwork and magical wondrous items for sale in her store, but the selection on a given day varies wildly.
Sandpoint Cathedral: Holy symbols and holy texts of the major good- and neutral-aligned faiths, holy water.
Sandpoint Savories: Bakery. Will make hard-tack, waybread, or trail rations upon request.
Sandpoint Market: The marketplace is empty most days, but every Wealday and Starday the space fills with vendors. On market days, just about any item (magical or otherwise) with a price of 500gp or less from just about any Paizo book is available here.
Savah's Armory: Weapons and armor. Her normal stock consists of anything from the Core Rulebook that isn't exotic or made of a special material. She has a rotating selection of exotic, masterwork, special material, and magic items that change on a weekly basis.
Vernah's Fine Clothing: Tailor/seamstress and importer of clothing manufactured elsewhere. All clothing items from Core Rulebook and APG are available.
Vindler's General Store: Most gear and tools from the Core Rulebook, inlcuding masterwork items. Ever since he got caught in the crossfire on Goblin Day, proprietor Ven Vinder doesn't like you: He won't let Kyrian in the store at all, and charges a 50% markup to the rest of you.
Vollie's Locks: Locks, chests, manacles, etc. Masterwork items available.
The Way North: Maps, books (primarily focused on travel and geography), and a small selection of navigational aides (compasses, sextants, etc.)

My bad... Lol

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

Maybe we can recruit a townsperson to make our purchases for us!

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

I'll see if I can get Shayliss to help us out lol.

Your humble narrator

I've put up a treasure list and linked it from the campaign header. I think it's self-explanatory.

I've set the privileges such that anyone with the URL can comment on the worksheet, but not edit.

You still need to decide how to split up the 10 tindertwigs and the smokestick.

My bad... Lol

He also got caught in Lynnda's color spray...

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

True. But Kyrian is the one treating his daughter, so I'd take a guess that's where most the hate and death is going to go lmao.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

So I also transferred my sheet to the new sheets that Myth Weavers are using, and put the link in the stat line so that you can get right to it if need be.

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

Halvor has no desire for the tindertwigs or smokestick, but being the resident workhorse will carry them if needed.

Halvor will also take the bags of silver dust and gold and silver earrings, since it seems the heaviest distribution of the 98 gp.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

So do we just wanna split that up now and figure the stuff gets sold later, or wait until we actually sell it?

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

I'd honestly prefer that we go ahead and sell it, since we're in town and there's nothing pressing that would prevent a trip around town to convert our loot to coin.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

I was referring to the actions of we just assume we sell it, does Haladir make the common post of we go around buying and selling, or do we have interactions with different vendors. Granted we don't have to do interactions with different vendors on the most part anyways, but I do know that some GM's put a little more importance on some vendors, just because of possible plot hooks or frequent visits.

Grand Lodge

Male Aasimar (of gnomish stock) Druid 5 , Init: +1, Perception +12 w/60 ft Darkvision, HP: 38/38, F:+6, R:+3, W:+9, AC/T/FF: 19/13/17, CMD: 15, Stormburst 7/7

Considering Haladir gave us a full list of all the shops, what they sell and who many of the proprietors are, I am guessing that we are going to be interacting with them. Cerin is looking forward to meeting Savah and Rovanky, and having a bit more time to speak with Hannah as he was still feeling his injuries the previous evening.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

Well that information is towards the back of the AE book, which of course, has been put on the internet for those who want to search it out.

Your humble narrator

I was hoping you'd want to do a little role-playing in town, and shopping is a good way to do it. You should be able to get just about anything in town without going to Vindler's store. Honestly, that's one of the reasons there's supposed to be enmity between him and the PCs-- so you can't easily one-stop-shop, and need to interact with other NPCs.

Behind the screen...:
One of my big regrets last time I ran RotRL was that I emphasized the action without giving Sandpoint enough sense of place. Neither the PCs nor the players ever got a sense of connection to Sandpoint, instead latching onto the city of Magnimar. At the start of Book 4, when they returned to Sandpoint, they gave me a sense of "Here again?" rather than the expected "We're home!" I intend not to let that happen again.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

I'm perfectly fine with that. And yea, I know how much that can suck. It's never fun having your players just shrug stuff off like it doesn't matter. One of the reasons I didn't like 4E lol.

Your humble narrator

If no one objects, I'd like to continue running Lynnda as an NPC with the party for the foreseeable future so that you all have some acrane firepower at your disposal. I built the character with some Runelords-related plot hooks in her backstory that I'd hoped Holden would use. I have a few minor things I'd like to still use her for in the story, and I promise not to let a GMPC steal the spotlight.

If anyone is uneasy about me running a GMPC, let me know. I'd be amenable to writing her out and opening up the Recruitment thread to look for another arcane-focused PC, if that's what you all would prefer.

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

Having run Runelords in its entirety before, I think that her plot will be fascinating throughout the Hook Mountain Massacre, which is likely many moons away. I have no problem with you playing Lynnda.

Grand Lodge

Male Aasimar (of gnomish stock) Druid 5 , Init: +1, Perception +12 w/60 ft Darkvision, HP: 38/38, F:+6, R:+3, W:+9, AC/T/FF: 19/13/17, CMD: 15, Stormburst 7/7

You have been doing a fine job so far, so I have no objections.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

I've got no objections. Hell, if I've got Kyrian talking the exact opposite of what half of what's going on, I'm sure you can GMPC Lynnda without letting out too much information or stealing the spotlight lol.

Your humble narrator

Sorry for no update. Weird day. I'll move things along tomorrow.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

Was it an octopus or squid kind of weird day?

Your humble narrator

My office moved yesterday to a new facility. Unfortunately, our director is fond of the "open office plan," meaning that we're all now sitting in one big room, four people to what's essentially a conference table. I'm literally sitting next to my manager all day long. This means I'm probably not going to be able to post during the work day any more.

I can already tell that my productivity is going down the toilet in this set-up. We all gave feedback that we thought the open office plan was a bad idea, but our director doesn't really like to be contradicted, and doubled down.

I'll give it a few months, but it's time to dust off my résumé.

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

I've worked in a couple of places with that kind of setup, and it was uniformly hated. What works for one culture is not a good fit for others.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

Oh hell no it's not. I would hate to have to work like that. I've gotta have some space to breathe while I'm working.

Male Human Techie 2 / Bureaucrat 6

The kicker is that until yesterday, I had a private office!

Oh, well. At least I still have a job!

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

More than I can say right now lol.

Male Human Techie 2 / Bureaucrat 6

Go Pats!

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

Bleh... As far as I'm concerned, Wilson just pulled a Gustafson...

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

Hurray for a Patriots win! That was a nail-biter!

Your humble narrator

I had an unexpectedly busy weekend. Sorry for lack of updates!

Grand Lodge

Male Aasimar (of gnomish stock) Druid 5 , Init: +1, Perception +12 w/60 ft Darkvision, HP: 38/38, F:+6, R:+3, W:+9, AC/T/FF: 19/13/17, CMD: 15, Stormburst 7/7

No worries, it happens to all of us!

Male Human Techie 2 / Bureaucrat 6

Hi folks. Sorry for the slow progress.

I realized that we're not supposed to put Paizo maps on the Internet. I haven't liked the maps others have drawn, so I had to draw my own.

I hope to have it up tonight or tomorrow, and we'll be able to move on.

Male Human Techie 2 / Bureaucrat 6

Specifically, I meant the map of the area you're about to explore. The map is done, and now I just need to gray out areas you haven't gotten to.

I should get a post up this noon, even if the map is not quite ready.

Male Half Elf Investigator (Sleuth) 5 | HP: 28 | AC: 17/13/14 | Fort: +1 | Ref: +7 | Will: +5 | Init: +3 | Perception: 11 | Character Sheet

No worries. I won't be posting much this weekend, gonna be out of town.

Male Human Techie 2 / Bureaucrat 6

On a completely unrelated note, I took my daughter to see Jupiter Ascending last night. It was completely ridiculous, over-the-top, over-acted, filled with non-sequiturs, and was a 13-year-old girl's wish-fulfillment fantasy. Mila Kunis plays an undocumented immigrant house cleaner in Chicago who finds out she's a space princess that literally owns the Earth. Hijinks ensue.

I loved it.

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

You could have stopped with Mila Kunis.

Work and personal life have been kind of nuts this week. I was going to write a big post tonight, but I'm falling asleep at the keyboard, and am giving up for now. I hope to pick things up tomorrow.

Your humble narrator

Hi, folks.

I'm working a bit on the meta-plot of the campaign and the bits of the published version that I want to tinker with. I have an idea to include a bit of Kyrian's backstory into one part. I had designed Lynnda around some minor Runelords story elements, and still plan to use those. (Like I've said before, please let me know if you think Lynnda is hogging the spotlight-- I don't want to fall into the GMPC trap with her.)

Do any of you have other outstanding backstory or character items that you want me to be aware of and include in the main story? Feel free to post here or PM me as you see fit.

Oh, and if you couldn't tell from my enthusiasm on the Gameplay thread... I am really enjoying running this game. You guys are great!

Male Human Fighter 2; Init +1, Per +1; AC 21/12/19; HP 14/22 F+5, R+1, W+2 (+3 vs Fear)

I really had Halvor as a green young man who hadn't experienced much, so not a whole lot to worry with. Unless maybe his parents are in the farmlands around Sandpoint in Book 2...
