Your humble narrator

Countessa: I just noticed that your profile doesn't list what spells are in your spellbook. Would you mind adding that? I was looking to see if you knew dispel magic... which I'd kind of assumed that someone would have access to.

General Note: You can spend a Hero Point to automatically cast any spell you know, without using a spell slot. You can also spend a Hero Point to cast a spell you can't normally cast on a successful Spellcraft check... including a spell not on your spell list. You can also go up to one spell level higher than your highest spell level. The farther you go from what you can normally do, the tougher the Spellcraft check.

Moving things along... GMPC for Daimon and Verran...

One other thing... It's not really spelled out in the rules, but I usually say that it's a DC 20 Perception check to find the square of an invisible creature that's not otherwise trying to hide.

Petracleus Fort save (DC 15): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 ...uh-oh.

Note: Just a reminder that we're using the Unchained Afflictions rules for disease and poison from Pathfinder Unchained.

Round 4, continued

Celowyn continues to fight the summoned demon, slashing it savagely and cutting off one of its dimmunitive wings. It drips more foul-smelling black ichor from its wounds and utters an unearthly groan.

Ireena's keen eyes notice another flutter in the air behind her, and she moves to attack the still-invisible quasit. However, without being able to actually see it, her sword only cuts through air. Verran follows her lead, but his mace also doesn't strike anything. I maked the square where you think the invisible creature might be with a white "X" on the map.

The toad that is also Theodora contiues to hide in the shadows underneath a cabinet.

The hag has broken the spell she had over Daimon by attacking him and revealing her true form. Daimon fights back the urge to vomit after kissing the creature, and then pulls his sword from the wall. The body of the dead witch slumps to the floor, and he swings the sword down on the hag in a wide arc. The hag seems to anticipate the attack and dodges.

Without thinking at all, Petracleus takes the proffered bottle, uncorks it, and downs the extremely bitter liquid. He immediately coughs as the liquid burns his throat and sharp pains shoot from his belly. Petracleus: Take 2 hp poison damage. This is a Strength-affecting unchained poison: You are now weakened: -2 penalty on Strength-based attack rolls, damage rolls, skill checks, and ability checks.

Countessa take another pot-shot at the demon fighting Celowyn, but her shot is high and the quarrel sticks into the doorframe.

While terribly wounded, the summoned demon continues to fight Celowyn. It clutches at her arm, its claws raking her skin.

The witch fighting Petracleus fixes him with a malevolent glare. Petracleus: You are at -2 on saving throws for the next 6 rounds. A successful DC 16 Will save reduces that to 1 round.

The hag cackles evilly and steps back from Daimon's sword. She then casts a spell and opens her mouth wide. With a retching sound, thousands of spiders erupt from her mouth, covering the floor, furniture, and Daimon with a crawling carpet. Daimon then feels dozens of tiny pinpricks on his exposed skin, followed by a burning sensation. Daimon: A spider swarm covers the area marked. You take 1d6 ⇒ 1 swarm damage, plus 1 hp poison damage. Please also make a DC 11 Fortitude save. This is a poison effect.

Your actions!

Petracleus: On your action, please also make another DC 15 Fort save vs. the poison. On a failure, you'll progress down the track at the end of your turn.

Round 5, continued

Celowyn breaks through the summoned demon's defenses, slashing through the things' neck. As black ichor begins to bubble from the wound, the demon's form begins to break up, and it collapses into a pile of bubbling, foul-smelling goo which quickly evaporates.

Her intended target now gone, Ireena then presses into the room, focusing her ire on the hag. The hag seems surprised, and her evil grin turns to a sneer at the Barovian stabs her in the side. Moving the declared action to the hag, keeping the rolls.

Toadodora summons the holy power of the Inheritor, and channels it through her long, sticky tongue, whith which she licks Celowyn. Celowyn heals 11 hp.

Mace in hand, Verran looks around for where the invisible creature might be, but cannot locate it.

Round 6

Daimon feels the poison from the spiders course through him, and his limbs become heavy. Daimon: You are weakened: -2 on any d20 roll modified by Strength, and also on damage rolls modified by Strength. Please also make another Fortitude save (DC 11).

Despite the poison, he manages to acrobatically move into a flanking position against the hag with Ireena, and then cuts a savage gash across the hag's back.

Petracleus retches suddenly, expelling a good amount of the poison he'd just swallowed into the witch's face. He feels marginally better. Distracted by the poison vomit, the witch can't react to Petracleus stabbing her in the shoulder.

Countessa scans the room for the invisible quasit...

Ireena gets a solid sword thrust at the hag, but her blade is likewise deflected by the same supernatural shielding.

Theodora looks around for the invisible quasit, but can't figure out where it might have gone.

Ireena moves in to attack the Varisian witch fighting Petracleus, but catches her sword on the wall on the backswing, which throws off her form terribly.

Theodora finds she really enjoys the taste of venomous spiders... kind of spicy!

Verran summons Pharasma's powers of life and death, and his hand pulses with silvery light. He steps forward, slapping the hag in the shoulder with his open palm. Immediately, a deep gash appears in the hag's flesh, which bleeds profusely.

Round 8

Daimon presses the attack on the hag, using Celowyn's positioning for leverage. One of his blows is deflected by the hag's mysterious magical force shield, but his second powers through it, cutting into the monster.

Badly weakened by two poisons swimming through his system, Petracleus manages to find an opening in the witch's defenses, and he stabs her in the side. She hisses a curse in a language he doesn't understand.

The venom from dozens of spider bites is making Countessa feel sick and weak, but she concentrates on the sphere of flame, rolling it back toward the hag. Wary of the magical fire that already burned her, the hag manages to avoid it this time.

The hag locks eyes with Daimon, points a bony, green-skinned figher at him, and says, "I curse thee!" She then cackles loudly. Daimon: Please make a DC 18 Will save. If you fail, then for the next full round, any time you need to roll a d20, roll twice and take the lower number.

The hag then moves toward the door. As she does, she gestures at the swarm, which starts to crawl westward, through the pool of alchemist fire that's still burning it. The fire spreads over more of the spiders, and the remaining individual spiders start scurrying away from the flames. The spider swarm is dissipated.

Seeing the leader of her coven start to retreat, a look of fear crosses the Varisian witch's face. She makes a gesture and then suddenly rises into the air, shimmying and twisting to avoid your attacks. She makes her way toward the exit.

The witch made an Acrobatics check to try to avoid AOOs... but failed to do so. Petracleus, Celowyn, and Ireena can make AOOs on the retreating witch. Countessa: I believe you last had a crossbow in hand, so you do not. Theodora: As a Diminuitive creature, you cannot reach above you and also cannot make an AOO.

Round 7, continued

As the witch tries to fly above their heads and flee the combat through the door, Ireena, Celowyn, and Petracleus all slash her with their swords, and she comes crashing to the ground, slamming into the floor face-first next to Toadadora. There is a sickening *crack* from her neck and she lies still, color draining from her face.

Celowyn presses the attack, but her sword can't seem to penetrate the odd invisible force shield that seems to protect the hag. Ireena's attack is clumsy, and the hag anticipates her move.

Theodora manages to hop out of the way of the witch that nearly falls on top of her.

Round 8

Daimon tries to attack the hag, but she manages to easily side-step the sword, still cackling. She grins evilly at the half-orc.

Countessa: I'm guessing that you haven't been looking at the combat map. You're standing in a threatened square, and there is no way to cast lightning bolt without also tagging an ally. To move things forward, I'm going to say for now that you cast magic missile defensively instead. Feel free to retcon your action for this round if you would rather have done something else.

Daimon: The hag is using the Cackle hex, extending your misfortune by another round. She moves closer to the door, and as she moves past Countessa, stabs her in the gut with her black-bladed dagger. Countessa: Take 16 hp damage.
