Skarn attacks the same target, fighting with great furor.

Skarn and Fianna act in tandem, trying to bring the huge animal down. Unfortunately they still can't find the best way to tackle this beast. Skarn gets frustrated and bites the beast in anger, which brings the beast down!
The three humans throw down their weapons and put their hands up "Please do not hurt us, she made us fight!"
Out of combat!

Skarn tries his best to calm down and not unleash his she-wolf upon the hired men. Once his fatigue is gone, he retrieves a wand to cure his wounds.
CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
"Now speak. Why did she hire you? What were her motives? Be clear or meet Groetus."
Skarn offers to use people's wands to cure them, in which case you can just roll the charges and assume that Skarn did it for you.
Zavita |
"Now now Skarn. No need to threaten them further, they are already defeated. Now please come forth with the information, and if any of you are injured, let me tend to your wounds."
Professor Dario Westone |
Dario goes to tend to any prisoners. "Are you ok? What happened?"

"Atanda didn't hire us!" one of the sailors says while pointing to the halfling that was a triceratops seconds ago. "We fought against her when she mutinied against the captain with her friends! During that fight the Pride of Aspenthar breached its hull on an outcropping of rock, and quickly sank. The few of us made it here and Atanda forced us to help her. She said she would throw us from the pillar and even threw old Jake of to show her point!"
He points to the bound prisoner "Then a few days ago this pathfinder entered our camp, talking in this weird tongue. He was very weak and Atanda has us subdue him and bind him"
The prisoner speaks to Dario in a flowing tongue "आपकी मदद के लिए बहुत बहुत धन्यवाद! मैं Ilzinian, सलाई मिशन के नेता हूं।"
Zavita |
Zavita answers back in celestial.
Zavita then calls back to the group, "This is the paladin we were looking for."
GMG |
He is still speaking in Celestial, I assume Zavita will translate
"The orb? No, I do not have it anymore. I know we entered the tomb. I do not know what we faced down there, it is all a mist to me. I came out speaking the blessed tongue of Shelyn. Other than that I have no memory what happened."
Zavita checks him and sees that he bruised a bit, which is taken care of by a single charge of her wand.
He wriggles in his bonds "Can you untie me? This is rather uncomfortable..."
Skarn Moonbane |
"That sounds like a fair request. There's no reason why you should wait for the end times in such discomfort. However, I strongly advise you to confess and repent, so that you're at peace with yourself when the End Times come." warns Skarn as he unties the man.
Zavita |
Updated statblock with the wand use. And of course I will translate.
GMG |
He stands up and glances to his right where you see a longsword atop a full plate armor decorated with a red rose on the breastplate.
"I do not know why I can only speak and understand the blessed tongue of Shelyn. She must have warded me in some way. I hope to find out when we go back in." he waits for a minute "At least, I assume we will go back in to try to find the orb? If you give me a hand to get me back in my armor I will accompany you"

Maldrek "el liberto" |
Your sugeestion of help him is a good idea, of course concedes Maldrek. But had you thought that whatever happened to him can still be affecting him? And not only forcing him to speak in a certain languaje.
Let me make a check first Maldrek casts detect magic on the paladin and tries to discern if there's any aura lingering.
Knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Besides that, can any knowledge check offer an idea of what can force a man to talk in a lenguaje he didn't knew before?
Professor Dario Westone |
Dario taps himself with the healing wand. Then he casts a detection spell on the Paladin. "You could be right. He could be under some sort of ongoing curse."
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Cast Detect Magic on the Paladin.
GMG |
Feel free to roll sense motive
Maldrek detects a strong necromantic aura on Ilzinian, but he is not able to identify what causes it.
"I don't know what happened in there or why I can only speak Celestial. If it is a curse, do you think we might be able to find out what put it on me?"
Please post your PFSnumber and faction on the discussion thread
Professor Dario Westone |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
"Do you remember what happened to the others? Have you seen any sign of them?"
GMG |
Zavita translates diligently "I have no idea. I know I entered the tomb in charge of the pathfinder team. I had the equipment given by Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry with me. The next thing I knew was that I was wandering about on the upper level of the spire. I had one of my swords with me and my armor, but that was it. When I left the spire these thugs assaulted me. They seemed to know that Benarry gave me her folding boat...."
Dario and Skarn: this is a plausible story, you have no idea what caused him the ability to speak Taldane (common)
Professor Dario Westone |
Dario turns to the defeated thugs. "I thought you said you shipwrecked here, and he just wandered up? How would you know anything about him, much less about a folding boat? What else aren't you telling us about Atanda?"

The sailor quickly responds "No, you don't understand. The pathfinder here was on our ship, the Pride of Aspenthar. The fool was bragging about this folding boat he borrowed from that Venture Captain. That's how Antanda knew he had it."
Let me know what you want to do, I am taking this slowly so I don't rush you forward when you are not ready
Maldrek "el liberto" |
Now he understand. And now you answer the question about the folding boat, right?
I want to discover what happened with the folding boat before entering. Maybe Ananda has it and I should loot first and ask later, or maybe there's no clues here, but at least we can try.
Professor Dario Westone |
"Why was he on your ship? Did you pick him up from the island?"
I'm confused. Anyone else know what happened?
Skarn Moonbane |
Me too... Perhaps we'll learn more inside?

Equipped with Benarry’s magical folding boat and led by the paladin Jaohd Ilzinian, the team was tasked with using the Orb of Stars to freeze the Gloomspires in place so they could reach the site safely.
However, when the Pathfinders failed to return for their rendezvous with Benarry at their appointed time, Benarry feared the worst. The venture-captain has had just enough time to cobble together a replacement team and return to the Gloomspires in time for the next solstice—their only chance to mount a rescue in the next half year.
You are the replacement team
Ilzinian answers in Celestian when Maldrek's question is put to him by Zavista "I took the folding boat inside. I don't know where it is now. I did not have it when I came out"
Skarn Moonbane |
"Then more answers lie inside. Let's move." suggests the prophet.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Professor Dario Westone |
Dario nods. "Ilzinian should come with us. The rest of them can stay here, since they're stuck anyway."
(As long as everyone is telling the truth) Ilzinian led a team of Pathfinders into the Gloomspires. They used the Pride of Aspenthar (ship) to get to the spires and along the way, and Ilzinian bragged to the crew about the folding boat. While Ilzinian was in the spires, he lost his memory and team, but somehow made it out. While that was happening, Atanda mutinied against the crew and damaged the Pride of Aspenthar, sinking it. She forced a handful of the surviving crew to help her. Ilzinian wandered into their camp a few days later, speaking only celestial.

Just before you are about to untie the man Doyote says (in common) that he does not trust the man, there seems to be something he is hiding. You question the paladin, but he is not able (or willing?) to give more details. In the end you decide to unbind the paladin and give him back his weapon and armor.
You easily find the entrance of Sevenfingers’s tomb. Since the events of Hall of the Flesh Eaters, no creatures have moved to occupy the uppermost level, and it takes you only a short time to reach the stairs to the second level. The heavy door to the second level has been chopped to pieces, though you can tell it once depicted an immense scowling face.
The spiral stairs descend 80 feet from the Hall of the Flesh Eaters to a large mist-filled chamber. Skarn and Maldrek see something moving in the mists, while Fiana also signals that she has caught the scent of something.

Seconds later a walking corpse steps out of the mist, viciously sticking his longspear into Henrick! It's flesh is rotting and putrid, its body skeletal in places and its eye sockets glowing with red light. Henrick feels weaker...
In the corner you notice a body on the ground, next to a longspear. This body has a lot more flesh on it than the undead that is attacking Henrick, although the pool of blood does not bode well.
