Trisane begins climbing over the debris, but it shifts under his weight. He jumps back to avoid sliding off the edge of the roof. A few loose boards and some fabric slide onto a balcony below, raising a cloud of dust and angry shouts. Ahead, Trinia continues her flight.

Ugh, why did she have to run? Stupid girl, we're trying to save her. Maybe she is guilty, after all.
She went out the window, great. I'll see if I can follow on the streets. Ophelia picks Aurelia back up, thank you, my friend.
She leaves the room and heads for the street, attempting to do her best to follow through the streets.
Nik Fralliniz |
Nik looks down out the window to see how she may have gone out.
The cercetași back on the road will never believe this. Me chasing a girl across the roofs. If neither of us breaks our necks it will be a miracle.
Is there a ledge or landing below the window and if so what would be the check to pursue her from here?
GM-Grenfax |
I posted the basics for a "Chase" on the Discussion thread.
This will be Round 2
An Acrobatics DC 10 OR Climb DC 15 to continue the chase - you may also attempt to move "3" squares as a full round action by completing both skill checks.
Nik Fralliniz |
Well, here goes!
Nik jumps out the window and takes off after the girl.
It is my intention for Nik to get within 100 ft of her so he can try to cast Hold Person to stop her escape. As the chase rules are kind of abstract I am not sure how much I need to accomplish that. I am making checks in the order Nik would try to attempt them. If the CLIMB check is unnecessary in order to reach that range, please just ignore it. Also, if one check is all that is needed and I can still cast the spell I will.

Ophelia rushes along the streets, watching Rom and Silverbeak and catching a flash of Trinia or Trisane as they leap across an opening between rooftops. Opehila manages to keep up with the chase from the ground.
Trisane is able to finally crawl his way over the pile of rubble and move past it, although not pretty he made it.
Nik I put some info for you in the discussion thread
GM-Grenfax |
Trinia continues to flee ahead of Trisane, as she climbs up over some eaves and down the other side out of view momentarily.
After all actions this round:
Nik is on Card 1;
Trisane is on Card 2;
Trinia is on Card 6.
Ophelia is on the streets and will soon have fun obstacles all her own, She is on "card 1" but really is not in a position to "catch" Trinia her card is a general reference point relative to the chase.
GM-Grenfax |
These will be the Rd 3 actions.
Good news - Bad news Trisane... the bad news is you failed both rolls - the good news is the challenges will actually change, so I will "need" you to re-roll.
Nik Fralliniz |
Nik picks himself off the walk he grasped for support and takes chase.
ROM! Încet!
Nik takes off at a run, trying to keep within range of Trinia.
Just like chasing down a deer in the woods. Yeah, just like that.
- Acrobatics 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
- Climb 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Rom - Familiar |
Rom hears Nik shout out and turns to try and slow the girl down. Just like in the woods with deer, Rom with try to turn her and if possible cause her to stumble.
Rom will move 40 ft. and if that brings him into range (not sure what "card" Rom is on) he will take an attack. If not, he will double move. If he does attack it will provoke an AOO.
- Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
- Damage 1d3 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -2 (so, 1 non-lethal)
- Of note, this attack is less for the damage, more for the distraction.

In round 3-
Ophelia weaves through the narrow streets avoiding the few small groups that are out as she continues to keep pace with the chase going on above.
Trisane manages to avoid falling as a loose stone in a ledge gives way and keeps pace with Trinia. Overhead Silverbeak continues to glide and cry out as he follows her movements.
Nik gains fis feet and takes off, keeping pace with Trisane and Trinia. Rom swoops in and snaps at her with his beak. Despite the distraction she manages to continue on.(I gave her a -2 to her skill checks for the distraction.)
Trinia herself flees in terror, blasting into a stirge nest as Rom pecks at her.
After all actions this round:
Nik is on Card 4;
Trisane is on Card 5;
Trinia is on Card 9.
Ophelia is on Street card 4
