Hanzo Hashashi |
Please move Hanzo to the square directly to the right of monkey dude. He'll use acrobatics to avoid the AoO from the first square, and then provoke from the second, and if the monkey decided to bite, armor class is 16 from trait bonus, or a sense motive check, if I decide to use one or not.
When the surprise attack triggers, Hanzo springs into motion, leaping over the attack of the beast, landing lightly on his feet, and launching an attack at its now unprotected side. Then, he sidesteps again and punches the thing right in the face.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Retaliatory Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
GM Fuzzfoot |
The ape-man takes the bait, and attacks.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Severely off balance, Hanzo delivers a couple of strong blows.
The other man attacks Fleetfoot again.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
This time, he slams him with his fists.
Round 1 (bold may act)

"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Your dice hate me.
Hanzo Hashashi |
Brother Marcus |
Marcus steps closer to the ape 5 foot step and concentrates to determine if it is under evil influence detect evil as move action. Regardless of the result he swings at it with his sword.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Durothil Moonstep |
Sorry Real Life been kicking me lately, in the Future Durothil will be in the front or closer since he has HP to soak and a reach weapon.
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am not entirely sure what detect evil would do here, as the whole mist thing is clearly an evil spell sort of thing. However, you all can quickly conclude that these two are probably museum staff that have succumbed to the mists effects.
There is a muffled screaming - it sounds like it is coming from a closed cabinet in the room. "Stop! Go away and leave me alone! Argh! I don't wanna die!"
Hanzo Hashashi |
Arngrim Fleet foot |
Arngrim whips his scimitar across at the ape man in front of him.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
I have nothing to hit him with that does nonlethal damage
Serpentfang |
Serp will cast Daze at nearest enemy. DC 14 will save. sorry works been kicking my butt don't mean to hold you up
-Posted with Wayfinder
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
(Regardless of what the ape does on his turn)
Fool casts slumber on the further ape-man. DC 15 Will save and doesn't provoke, so i won't move.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Daze save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
#2 is dazed.
Slumber save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
And #1 is now asleep.
Round 1 (bold may act)
Hanzo
Man 1 (7 damage) (dazed)
Fleet foot
Marcus
Serpentfang
Man 2 (has taken 12 non-lethal damage) (asleep)
Durothil
Fool
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Fool signals his companions to wait and targets the other ape-man.
Slumber DC 15 will save
Durothil Moonstep |
"Fool, out of the way!" Durothil shouts as he converges on bald ape man.
Bardiche: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Bardiche: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
How ironic
GM Fuzzfoot |
Fool is jumping ahead...
Also, since it isn't Fool's option to move (unless Durothil wants to delay), we will take the first roll for attack and damage. Even with -4, it would be a hit.
We will assume Marcus delays for now.
Round 2 (bold may act)
Hanzo
Man 1 (18 damage) (dazed)
Fleet foot
Marcus
Serpentfang
Man 2 (has taken 12 non-lethal damage) (asleep)
Durothil
Fool
Arngrim Fleet foot |
Not sure which one is asleep and which is awake, but this is at the one still standing.
Seeing the one ape man fall, Arngrim drops his scimitar and rushes the other, trying to trip him and hold him down.
CMB/Grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Hanzo Hashashi |
Hanzo sidles in between the tables, closing in with the other ape-man, and delivers a kick to his midsection.
Attack, Non-Lethal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am not entirely sure that Hanzo didn't just kick a sleeping man, but I will assume that Hanzo and Arngrim worked together to take down and kick the other one into unconsciousness. If so, then the combat is over.
Brother Marcus |
Marcus delayed at Fool's signal.
Assuming that both apes are unconscious he will go over to the cabinet and try to open it while saying, "Don't worry sir, the Pathfinder's are here to help. What happened?"
Arngrim Fleet foot |
With Hanzo's help, Arngrim extracts himself from the tangle and stands up. "Thank you, Hanzo!
Not sure if they revert back to human or not..
"Lets tie them up, just to be sure! Arngrim suggests as he starts getting the unconcious bodies positioned back to back.
GM Fuzzfoot |
The unconscious men do seem to be reverting to their former selves.
Serpentfang |
could Serp spellcraft the fog? He would be very intrigued by it.

GM Fuzzfoot |
I don't really have anything to share with you about the mist.
GM Fuzzfoot |
The man calms down due to Marcus' soothing voice, and opens the cabinet door.
"Thank you," the blubbery man says as he carefully exits his hiding spot. His jowls quiver and shake with terror as
he recounts his tale. "My name is Saldak, and we are scribes here at the museum. Early this morning, our offices suddenly flooded with this strange mist, and that tendrils of it seemed to pour down Kadarnik’s and Yannis’ throats. Moments later, they went stark mad and beat Milgen to a pulp. I believe that the Tik Taan idols are responsible. I smelled something wrong with those hideous monkey-faced things as soon as Lugizar brought them out of his pack. I’ve a nose for trouble, I do! No one listens!"
Durothil Moonstep |
Once the museum workers are secure
"Hello, Saldak. I am Durothil.
Are you injured? What direction did the fog come from and were are the Tik Taan located now? Any reason Lugizar might have wanted this to happen?"
I know most of this we went over in the VC briefing, just wanted to see if he has better information.
Once everyone has had a chance to interact ....
"Any idea why the mists did not effect you?"
GM Fuzzfoot |
Saldak looks at Durothil warily. "I don't know why it didn't affect me... maybe I just have a stronger willpower? It didn't affect Milgen either, but that might not have been a good thing." He is visibly shaken by looking at the bloody mess that remains of Milgen.
"I am not sure where the idols are. Last I knew, Nigel was taking stock of the pieces in storage in the East Exhibit storage room. You might ask him what he thinks is going on."
The man starts to cry. "I really just want to go home."
Arngrim Fleet foot |
Arngrim finishes tying up the two other employees and helps the sane one up. "The door is back that way. I would suggest moving out of the area while we sort the rest of this out."
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Fool moves the lights back ahead of them towards the central hallway, scanning for enhancements on the way.
Serpentfang |
"Yes go home, you did enough for us you see..."He then starts talking to Vivienne his familiar about the events, particularly the fog.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Hanzo Hashashi |
Hanzo immediately goes to the door leading back to the other wing, and peers out, keeping a watch in case the other possessed monkey men are coming.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Saldak happily escapes the museum. He may not be back again for work tomorrow.
Brother Marcus |
"We should do something for the others."
Marcus looks at the bound men and then around the room and at the window. "Here someone help me." He starts dragging one over to the window and will try to push them out.
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
"Maybe if we carry them out of the mist they will recover?"
GM Fuzzfoot |
Either way works. Do you leave them tied up, or cut them free?
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Tied and sleeping pls, dc 15 will save on the other, if he makes it save again for second attempt
GM Fuzzfoot |
They are safe and can't cause anymore trouble. Even if you don't survive :) they will be found by others by morning.
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Fool gets out the map and turns it slowly 360 degrees. "Now where is that store room?"
Arngrim Fleet foot |
"Seeing the damage that this has caused, I think that we should clear out the big room across the hall as well. There may be other civilians that need to be rescued. What say the rest of you?"
Serpentfang |
"Yes, yes there could be more fog, more people, more trouble..."
-Posted with Wayfinder
Serpentfang |
Serpentfang is becoming obsessed with the fog and its effect, so he will gladly keep investigating.
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Fuzzfoot |
Saldak opens the front door again, and says "Excuse me? I thought of something that might help..."
GM Fuzzfoot |
"Did you search the office? There is a Mwangi cloth in there - very ancient. It was cataloged as with Tik Taan Idols, courtesy of Lugizar Trantos. If you need help translating it, I can."
"Also, there is some coin in the desk, which you should take for your expenses. About 50 gold, I think. Please, accept it as a token of my appreciation."
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am going to let you take 10 on a perception check, for moving us along :)
Arngrim (and any who help in the search) do find a sack of gold, the Mwangi cloth, and you also find a weathered leather scroll tube on the top shelf of the cabinet Saldak was hiding in. It contains 3 scrolls.
"Fool" - Corvid Rhonabwy |
Linguistics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
"The writing on the cloth provides a warning against the idols’ corrupting powers, but also a chant that is supposed to dispel their influence over men. And they conjugated this verb incorrectly."
"These scrolls are of cure moderate wounds, false life, and dispel magic. All spells Mr. Fang and I can cast."
