Chup "Spoony" Spooner |
"Probably not," Chup replies to Crowe. "Hers was blue... and flat. She lost some of her fingers when an iron golem stepped on her hand." He whistles as he shakes his head. "That was Grandma Spoony for you, always with the damn iron golems. Could have saved you some fingers if you just did your own dishes, Nana!" When the halfling realizes that an audience is watching him berate his absent grandmother, he folds his hands behind his back and blushes. "Now then, where we we? Onward south to see what's in the next room?"
.Pregen/2. |
Crowe looks to his fingers then says: "Hmm... I hope not to find an iron golem in our way here...", he holds his earthbreaker anchored in his back, "let's check the south door", and he walks out there in the south's direction.
Mavaro, Iconic Occultist |
that bit with the ring gave me a nice laugh :D
Mavaro silently endured his companions talk with his face buried in his hands. Once Crowe continues with the search though, he follows, expecting more zombies where the bugbear came from.

Water drips from the double-vaulted ceiling and trickles down the walls to pool on the floor. Bone shards of a hundred skulls litter the room like shattered seashells. Wide stairs climb to the west. Narrow stairs dive to the north. On the south wall, an open doorway gapes, a carved relief depicting a massive battle filling the archway over the door. The rest of the walls are filled floor to ceiling with nooks that house ancient, but drenched, skeletal remains. In the center of the room sit twelve school children in a circle on the floor. One child seems to be silently telling a story, her arms moving rapidly as she makes scary faces.
Circle noted on map...
Dumm |
Seemingly in a perpetual state of confusion on this strange mission, Dumm looks at the others. "These children play a game? Tell a story but can no talk?"
.Pregen/2. |
"What the f..." whispered Crowe when he saw the children.
The bloodrager enters the room and tries to understand the history that is being told while search for some hidden hazards.

Mavaro silently enters deep into the room once he sees the scenery.
"Great Mother, help me uncover this places secrest." he whispers almost silently while pressing his right hand against his bag.
"Are you but memories of a dreaming house, or are you real but cursed to endure strange torment? Speak with us children." he says to the assembled group before him, not expecting an answer.
He watches the strange group and tries to piece together what the one child is telling the others from its gestures and facial expression.

Mavaro tries to remember anything of value for this situation
If possible, he takes 10 on Perception, gaining a 14
BTW, how did our gardener friend react to the bugbear and our other findings? That might actually be relevant.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Deris Marlinchen, bringin up the rear, sees the children and starts shouting “See! Alive! I knew it!” and points at one of the girls. "My beautiful daughter, Cassiel..."
He did not comment on the bugbear fight.

From the north, you hear some shuffling and scraping, and it seems to be coming toward you.
Everyone had great perception rolls, so you have 3 rounds before danger comes - unless you want to go to it...
.Pregen/2. |
"I can do this, Spoony, relax."
Crowe tries to stay in a hidden spot and prepares himself to hit anything that cross the north arch.
Readied action = hit whatever cross the north arch

Mavaro, Iconic Occultist |
I sincerely cannot find a commont by mister gardener. Anyone feel like quoting that for me? :)
Seeing as the children do not react as expected, and hearing what will propably soon be revealed as more zombies, Mavaro moves towards Crowe and puts his hand on his shoulder.
"Your hammer may not be the most effective of weapons here, but the arm that leads it is strong and should make up for it. But let me unlock the power of what this weapon could one day become, to help us through this mess."
He draws his sword and closes his eyes, touching the blade to his forehead for a moment. Crowe could swear that when he blinked, he could catch an ominous glow in the single red jewel that sits in one of the eyesockets of the face-shaped pommel.
Then he touches Crowe's great hammer with the tip, energy suddenly accumulating in the old steel.
Waiting one round, then using Legacy Weapon on Crowe's Earthbreaker: It's now a +1 weapon for a minute.
Afterwards casting Lead Blades: Mavaro's sword now deals 2d6+4 damage (two-handed)
Then Mavaro moves to the other side of the entrance to set up a flank with Crowe.
Dumm |
His ears perk at the sound of something approaching. Though he's surrounded by allies who he knows are certainly capable, he isn't taking any chances. He immediately pulls out his large sword and crouches around the corner from the corridor.

Mavaro destroys the second one to come through (blue), and while Tametomo's first arrow goes astray, the second lands solidly in the third creature's chest.
That creatures comes out screaming, and immediately attacks Deris!
(AoO's allowed for Mavaro and Crowe, and Mavaro has flanking bonus.)

His blade striking true and decapitating the undead abomination, he carries forth the momentum with a slight roatation of his wrists to strike the other one rushing past him.

Out of combat!
Interestingly, the man ignores the rest of you and sits down next to the phantom girl he claims to be his daughter. You can see a resemblance. His eyes are filled with tears, and while the phantoms don't seem to notice him like the ones above did, he seems happy.
GM Fuzzfoot |
As you explore, there are skulls and bones on every wall. The south passage leads to another chamber, but nothing of real interest is there.
You come back to the circle of girls, and listen at the door there, hearing nothing. You enter to find another large chamber, with many stairs, including a huge set of 100 wide stairs leading up to a stone door. The side stairs both lead to rubble blocked areas.
Dumm |

Dumm laughs aloud and pats Chup on the head. "Ah, little man afraid of water. That ok, I can carry you. But maybe we no need go into the water. "

Chup "Spoony" Spooner |
"Thanks, Dumm, but I'll have you know I'm actually considered rather tall in the halfling community. Not as tall as Big Daddy Spooner, my great uncle. He was so tall, he got mistaken for a half-elf! I know, I know, it sounds glamorous and all, but he didn't think so after he got attacked by wood elves. They didn't believe he was a noble halfling, even after watching his entire juggling routine." Chup stands on his tip-toes to reach up as high as he can to indicate his height. "Yeah, those nasty elves shot up anyone who ventured into their forest, but Big Daddy Spooner made it out alright. They say he spent four years in those woods, teaching the common tongue to the elf younglings, until he got exiled for urinating on a treant."
Chup shrugs and kicks at the stones on the floor. "Apparently the 'if you gotta go, you gotta go' defense doesn't hold up in elf court. Also, 'elf court' is a real thing. Now Big Daddy Spooner teaches the elven language in down in Qadira. Circle of life, I guess, right?"
.Pregen/2. |
@Tametomo Crowe went through the north corridor to check the area that the zombies came from. Ah, and made a Perception check DC 14, I'm just waiting for the GM's response. =)
Mavaro, Iconic Occultist |
Mavaro watches the gardener interact with her daughter for a moment, but as nothing seems to actually happen, he walks away, nodding in agreement to Chup's suggestion.
After exploring a bit more, he heads towards the source of the zombies.
"I think it would be wise. Before we walk further into these walls, we shall make sure nothing surprises us or our good friend over there on our way back."
Sword drawn, Mavaro walks north, once the others gather as well.
Chup's newest story does make him chuckle slightly though. He did not expect the bit with the treant.
Dumm |
Dumm's expression brightens a little at Chup's story. "ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇದು ಯಾವುದೇ ನೀವು ಕಲಿಸಲು ನೀಡಲಿಲ್ಲ?"

Did everyone make a perception check to search the previous rooms that wanted to? DC 14 did not turn up anything.
Dumm |
Oh, I didn't notice there were two checks to make. I only saw the one to hear the ocean.

Sometimes obvious checks will be in spoilers, but not all will :)
Dumm spends some time sifting through the rubble, and finds a very older soldier, perhaps even a general. While the body is basically destroyed, the armor it was wearing is still shiny and new looking.
+1 full plate
Dumm |
Dumm shakes his head. "That armor very heavy. It will make moving slow. But he no uses it now, someone can take it if someone wants it."

Mavaro, Iconic Occultist |
"I was never a friend of such heavy armaments. There are many trinkets I use in my craft and in battle. It would interfere too much." Mavaro says.
After the armor was either left behind or taken (Ametomo? ^^), he ventures forth into the next chamber.
