GM Fuzzfoot |
In order to keep things moving, I will assume Korvan uses the same attack tactics as last round.
Korvan tries to take another swing at the foe...
Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
but sees the swirling lights and again becomes fascinated.
The construct then focuses it's gaze upon Shechera.
Will Save: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
She also becomes fascinated by the thing.
Round 3:(Bold may post actions)
Caerwynn - fascinated
Lod
Korvan - fascinated
Metallic Construct (-34hp)
Xakon
Merelen
Shechera - fascinated
Droghedor
Taidus
Droghedor Coram |
Averting eyes (high succeeds): 1d100 ⇒ 56
Droghedor deliberately looks away from the construct even as he hefts his dwarven waraxe. Well, here goes nothing...
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Not entirely sure what partial concealment means — is that a 20% miss chance, like blur?
GM Fuzzfoot |
Correct - averting your eyes gives the target concealment with means after a successful attack, we roll d100 to see if 20 or less, which would result in a miss anyway. I am not sure why they just didn't make it -4 to hit, but I suppose this makes any insanely good attacker still suffer from a chance to miss.
In this case...
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 90
Droghedor hits his target!
It is starting to look beat up, but still continues to fight on.
Round 3:(Bold may post actions)
Caerwynn - fascinated
Lod
Korvan - fascinated
Metallic Construct (-41hp)
Xakon
Droghedor
Taidus
Merelen
Shechera - fascinated
Taidus Raine |
will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Taidus, once again faces the challenge head on.
He punches at the damned thing twice again.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
GM Fuzzfoot |
Taidus punches into the neck of the creature and pulls a number of wires out, permanently powering it down. As the lights begin to fade, so does the fascination. Everyone snaps out of their stupor.
You are able to now escape the sublevel, retracing your path through the upper dungeon and back to the surface.
Initially, Ambrus Valsin is stunned into silence by your report, then he commends you for surviving a much tougher test than intended. He quickly also criticizes you for not immediately leaving and reporting in upon discovering the security sublevel. In the end, though, both the deed and discovery stand out, and local Pathfinders—many of whom begin in-depth investigation and cataloging of the hidden complex—regard you with high esteem. In the months to come, explorers seeking more hidden secrets swarm the Red Redoubt.
What, if anything, do you do with Meleren and Shechera?
Basically, other than roleplaying out this last issue, we have come to a close. I don't think anyone besides Korvan has a day job, so I will try to put chronicle sheets up late tonight (or early tomorrow). Feel free to provide any last minute feedback for me as well. Thanks all!
Caerwynn |
Caerwynn congratulates the two 'bandits' on their fantastic acting during the test. "Really, well done! You have very promising careers in acting--and maybe even as Pathfinders too! Seriously, your depth and range of expressions... well, Meleren's was really just the one, but still! Bravo."
Thanks for running Fuzzfoot! And thanks everyone too for a fun game. I'd like to join up for the next mission, but unfortunately I'm over my head (crunch season at work) and will have to bow out. Good luck though!
Korvan the Hunter |
apologies, work had me away for a bit. ty for botting me.
Looking at the debris, Korvan shakes his head after coming to his senses. Snatching up his weapons he comments how no such things exist in his Kellid homelands.
Lōd Flaxseed |
Lod thanks everyone, including Meleren and Shechera. "You proved dependable companions in there and I am glad that you came out safely. If you would like I could introduce you to the Venture-Captain. I think you could have quite the career as adventurers."
Xakon |
Xakon bids his farewells and offers to buy the next round of ales at the local tavern.
"The trial was not easy, but we live to tell the dog" (tale).
What a strange new world compared to mountain life.
Droghedor Coram |
Droghedor doesn't say much to the bandits, but enthusiastically offers to buy Korvan and Xakon (the rest of the party also, but those two in particular) a drink. Actually, many drinks. Many, many, many drinks.
Thanks for running, Fuzzfoot! Like Caerwynn, I need to step away (end of the term here, so work is busy), but Droghedor will remember each of you, er, fondly. In his own way. Mostly gloomily, of course. :-)
