Darathys Kressen |
"I never liked dogs!" shouts out Darathys as he draws his greatsword, "They're far too noisy!" He swings his sword at the dog to his side with disdainful fury.

@Titus - wild empathy wouldn't work this way. It basically lets you use Handle Animal as you would Diplomacy, meaning you need some time to talk in order to change it's attitude. In this case, even if no one attacked and you spent the time, the DC for the check would have been 23, and with others attacking, it is much worse. If you like, you may choose a different action in light of this information.
Kayanor's arrow pierces the side of the dog attacking Dulcinea, and Darathys cuts the one in front of him into two pieces.
Round 1: (Bold may act)
Dulcinea
Dog [red] (5 dmg)
Darathys, Thessaly, Kayanor, Titus, Lini
Titus Tiberius |
I've used Handle Animal*, not Wild Empathy, to try to give an order to a trained animal.
If it doesn't work that's Ok. I use what option have my character in this situation :)
*Down (DC 15): The animal breaks off from combat or otherwise backs down. An animal that doesn't know this trick continues to fight until it must flee (due to injury, a fear effect, or the like) or its opponent is defeated.
GM Fuzzfoot |
@Titus - understand where you are coming from now, but no - this will not work. (See discussion)
Kayanor |

Last post was over a week ago. I just dropped a PM. I'm comfortable with a bot for this round.
If bot is approved:
Lini sends Droogami forward to face the dogs.
Bite: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 for DMG: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and the leopard tries to trip too CMB: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Lini tries to hold on for the ride.
GM Fuzzfoot |
Agreed.
Lini holds on, as Droogami pounces on the dog, yanking the last vestige of life from its rabies-ravaged body.
No way to do this other than to just throw it out there. This combat is over, but we are staying in rounds... everyone has 1 round of actions before something else occurs.
Kayanor |
"Dogs have owners, stay sharp!" Kayanor spends his round making a pair of active perception checks.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Darathys Kressen |
Darathys grunts and kicks away the dog he's just sliced. Knowing that dogs often act as sentinels, and having a presentiment of danger, he draws a javelin and prepares to hurl it against any clear threat.
GM Fuzzfoot |
From high up in the rafters, arrows rain down on you. Since we are still in rounds, none of you are flatfooted. Only Dulcinea gets hit.
Arrow at Dulcinea: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Arrow at Thessaly: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Arrow at Lini: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Arrow at Droogami: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
On the map, you will now see 4 goblins, but they are 25' up in the rafters.
Round 1: (Bold may act)
Goblins [red], [green], [blue], [purple]
Dulcinea, Darathys, Thessaly, Kayanor, Titus, Lini
Dulcinea de la Mancha |
Dulcinea sighs and drops her rapier, drawing her shortbow and nocking an arrow. She raises her head and side-eyes the goblins up above.
"I can still hit you up there, you know? I just won't look as good doing it."
She looses an arrow at the southernmost goblin Blue
Attack with Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Kayanor |
"and she's not the only one!" Kayanor turns and shoots at the same goblin Blue
ATK: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 DMG if hit : 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Darathys Kressen |
Edit: Oh, I missed that detail. I'm gonna edit my post.
Darathys hurls his javelin at the nearest goblin above. "Why don't you climb down and fight bravely, you small bunch of green fools!"
__________________________
Javelin attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Javelin damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Lini of the North |
Lini seems on edge for their entire journey through Whitethrone, her elders having much to say on the subject of Witchcraft. "It's... it's so cold here, Droogami."
____
Droogami will clamber up toward the rafters. 20ft. climb speed, double move. Assuming Lini can cling to his back in this instance. As for what to climb, would it be possible to clamber up from atop the still?
GM Fuzzfoot |
Sorry, fell asleep at the wheel...
Climbing up into the rafters is possible, but treat as difficult terrain. So even with a climb speed of 20', it will take 3-5 rounds to get to a goblin. This will not apply to the snake, however, so it can get to a far goblin in 2-3 rounds.
Dulcinea puts an arrow in one goblins shoulder, injuring but not disabling him. Darathys, on the other hand, impales on through the chest, causing it to fall from the rafters to the floor, which makes it quite dead.
Kayanor shoots an arrow, straight and true, right through Dulcinea's goblin's eye, raising his body up and nailing it to the ceiling, killing it instantly.
Arrow at Kayanor: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Arrow at Dulcinea: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
The remaining goblins, unphased, laugh and fire more arrows, striking both Kayanor and Dulcinea.
Round 2: (Bold may act)
Goblins [red], [green]
Dulcinea, Darathys, Thessaly, Kayanor, Titus, Lini
Kayanor |
"Bastards!" Kayanor takes the arrow and shoots right back at the one who hit him. "Try mine!"
Arrow: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 1 = 25 DMG: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Dulcinea de la Mancha |
Dulcinea winces momentarily at the arrow that strikes her leg, but recovers with little effort.
You should try to focus your arrows more closely, little goblins. Allow me to show you."
She fires another arrow, this time at Kayanor's target.
Attack with Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Thessaly |
Twang! Thessaly takes an adjusting step, then looses a bolt at the same one Kayanor and Dulcie have shot at.
Crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Fwish! The bolt misses. Thessaly curses and slots in another.
Darathys Kressen |
Darathys hurls another javelin at the goblins. "Stop. Harassing. Us!" he screams as he throws his weapon.
_________________________
Darathys aims for the green goblin.
Javelin attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Javelin damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
GM Fuzzfoot |
I am sure I posted this morning, but now it's not here. anwyay...
The green goblin takes two hits, and basically knocks him out of the fight (at 0 hp). He simply holds on to the rafters for now.
The red one fires at Darathys.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Round 3: (Bold may act)
Goblins [red], [green] (6 dmg, disabled)
Dulcinea, Darathys, Thessaly, Kayanor, Titus (Ydresus may attack this round), Lini
Kayanor |
"I hate goblins. Hate. Them."
Another arrow: ATK: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 = 20 for DMG: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
-Posted with Wayfinder
GM Fuzzfoot |
Kayanor kills the last goblin - well, the last attacking one. The other one climbs out a hole in the roof, but then slips and falls to his death.
Dulcinea de la Mancha |
"Well that was anticlimatic."
Dulcinea stows her bow and picks up her rapier, flipping it nonchalently in her hand. She draws her wand and taps herself once.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"Shall we continue? I imagine there are more where those goblins came from!"
Darathys Kressen |
"Stupid green creatures" mutters Darathys to himself as he touches the bruise on his neck caused by one of the goblins. He then turns his attention to his allies, and when he sees they're done with healing, he walks towards the door left partially ajar. "Come on," he urges his fellow Pathfinders, "the sooner we get this done, the better".
Lini of the North |
Droogami pounces on the fallen goblin, pressing it beneath his large paw. But there is no need. The Goblin's neck has already broken. "Come on Droogami. I'm not picking that out of your teeth for you. Besides, you don't know where it's been."
"We'll follow your lead, but try to save some for Droogami and I this time!"
GM Fuzzfoot |
The kegs in this room are almost all cracked or broken in some way, and all are empty. Trash stands piled in the northwest corner of the room in front of a crumbling fireplace. An open door in the east wall gives ingress to a landing of downward-leading stairs.
Darathys Kressen |
"A bold woman-it's one in a million, milady" says appreciatively Darathys to Duclinea as soon as he sees the girls walking ahead, "But I'll go first anyway" he concludes with a smirk.
"Let's go" says Darathys to his other allies, "Kayanor, Titus, Lini, don't lag behind, come on. There's a staircase leading down here. I'll go first, back me up".
GM Fuzzfoot |
As Darathys tries to be chivalrous and get ahead of Dulcinea, the kegs come crashing down on the two of them.
Trap, Darathys: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14
Trap, Dulcinea: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1) = 7
Given the descriptions (lack of trap searching), I just used both of your take 10 perceptions values, which was not enough to perceive the trap).
The kegs that miss crash against the doorway and break open.
Darathys Kressen |
"Argh! That hurts!" screams Darathys in fury and anger as he staggers towards Titus. "I wouldn't mind a use from your healing wand now..." I hope he'll listen to me now...
Lini of the North |
Lini will draw a wand of her own from her bundle of twigs, inspecting it and nibbling tentatively at the end. "Sanos forest. That's not it..." she frowns, fumbling for another. "Pine needles and old magic... Grungir! This ought to do the trick!"
I picked up some poison and a cure wand of my own between adventures, I'm not sure if I reported in thread or no. Use however many charges you need!
