as my internal RL hypothesis of the piller once containing a feathered creature being called meta-gaming was a nail in the coffin, but only a small one.

I'm dropping from the Shattered Star game due to RL getting busy and my need to rush my posts at times (so I use the wrong words once in a while, i.e. used stasis instead of mummified/preserved remains).

The hypothesis:

The hypothesis was either a strix, angel or eryines was emtombed alive in the piller as punishment.
With it being held with a Hold Monster or Charm person spell with a possible protection spell helping to seal any powers,
or it was a detailed metal statue of the Peacock Spirit.

As the second I read impression of winged woman was read I thought of the Movie The Mummy (with Brandon Fraser) where the bad priests were buried alive.
but also thought of a king/queen hiding a treasure.

I might return later if things settledown, but for now it does not look like that for 3 to 9 months

The magical hole is a bit of a conundrum.

I'll pontificate here while we slay a hydra.

We have a magic hole with deeper darkness and feather fall effects (identified by Bibic, but not confirmed by Spasi).

We don't know how deep it goes... we didn't hear the sound of our rock hitting anything below so we know it's pretty deep (more than 50ft?) and we lack rope anyway, which we'd still want to use because who wants to jump into a feather-fall hole with no method of return?

I wager we go to the village after the hydra, pick up some rope and worst case, we can lower Clem into the hole for a look. Worst case is he floats to the max length of the rope (100ft?) and we pull him back out.

I too appreciate the work you've put in, and the mapless play really does speed things up.


I'm just glad everyone is having a good time.

As for mapless combat, there are pros and cons to doing it this way and I do run a couple of campaigns on the boards with maps for combat. With the amount of dungeon crawling involved in this AP, I thought mapless would be the way to go. I do enjoy the game within the game that combat presents (I actually love the D&D 4e combat system), but it does slow things down considerably.

Anywho, back to the game.

Heads up, with the ARG errata, I'll be self-implementing the change to the aasimar oracle favored class bonus on Clement (from 1/2 to 1/6) unless GMF has any objections to a self-imposed nerfing? (which will be easier once HeroLab implements it)

(I am almost inclined to switch all Clem's decisions to +HP instead, not sure what license GMF may allow on the FCB change)

No worries folks, you're all great players, so I thought I would ask you first.

For what it's worth, the campaign isn't super duper evil. It's just that the enemies all happen to be Good for a change. It's more of a overthrowing the government kind of thing and while it is a 'Good" society, it isn't a liberal society (no freedom of speech, no freedom of religion, super racist against non-humans).

Anywho, back to the game. We are nearly done the adventure.

I should note some abilities of Rhesus as regards to Spellcasters here. I've been taking this into account the whole time but since the BBEG is a spellcaster I don't want to surprise you Fang.

Spell Sunder (Su) Once per rage, the barbarian can attempt to sunder an ongoing spell effect by succeeding at a combat maneuver check. For any effect other than one on a creature, the barbarian must make her combat maneuver check against a CMD of 15 plus the effect's

Superstition +3 (Ex) While raging, gain bonus to save vs magic, but must resist all spells, even allies'.

Witch Hunter (+2) (Ex) Bonus to damage spellcasters while raging.

I think we should keep the immovable rod as a group, because those things can be so damn cool for creative thinking and roleplay.

Clement has darkvision already, but the goggles of the night will come in handy when and if we face darkness, so one of you dirty humans should take those.

Clem has a +1 agile breastplate to toss into the pile once he takes the above breastplate.

I will noodle on Clem's potential dip into paladin or something that grants martial proficiency and that will affect if he starts using one of the longsword, warhammer, rapier or dagger alongside the bow as an upgrade to his masterwork mace.
