Oh man....
When I was first starting out in D&D, my DM used the crit and fumble tables from MERP. These are just the best and I highly recommend using them in your game it at all possible.
If you roll a 1 or 20, you then roll percentile dice, and cross-reference it with the type of weapon you are using. (And modified at the bottom of the pages by what kind of what type of weapon you are using...hey, it's MERP.)
The turtle lives at the bottom right, hand arms fumble table, 97-99. I can not TELL you the number of times that turtle took a competent fighter and turned him into a world-class ballet dancer for 3 rounds. =3

Boss mode.
But I kinda already played that way in my other games.
Dame Tannhäuser |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
It's still nice to be confirmed to be right though :3
EH-RK |
Yeah, I always thought that was kinda silly that some people made Androids unable to be healed normally. I have an Android in my Iron Gods campaign and I let them heal in both ways.
I'm glad Owen isn't a crazy strict RAWitarian. I tend to agree with his rulings in the vast majority of cases.
Dame Tannhäuser |
*nods*
Though in this case RAW supports ya as well.
Foxy Quickpaw |
So I guess Manteca is out of healing options for Tannhäuser?
I had a few ideas how to quickly supply you with something technical to do healing. But none of them are as easy as I'd like.
Do we simply go for waiting 10 minutes and spending a resolve point to fix that? I gave you the paths to go on with the dungeon crawl so your decision what way to go.
EH-RK |
Re resolve spending. Yes, lets do that. Eric has one healing item, he'd rather wait till someone is bleeding out to use it though...
Dame Tannhäuser |
Thankies for the head's up, hope everything turns out okay.
Jelloarm |
I think Foxy was just keeping things moving. You had a readied action, the 'droid wasn't going to drop her weapon and keep acting hostily, so she just had Boreal deliver her readied action.
Also... I am really serious about getting one of these for Boreal.
Foxy Quickpaw |
She then shouts at the Android, "Drop your weapon and tell us who you are and you won't get hurt."
Readied action to attack if the android flees or retaliates
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 201d12 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Well, the android was not willing to drop the weapon and stop fighting. I think that is good enough for me to assume Boreal would shoot her. And she doesn't come over as one to wait until being shot to be really sure of the intention of the opponent.
Boreal shoots the android good enough to put her down. Obviously she [the android] wasn't familiar with honorable fighting and refused the offer [to surrender].
Backwards reasoning. Next time I'll make it more clear to spare you the high blood pressure :P
EH-RK |
IJS, if no one claims items I'm not calculating them in when we split up loot later. We will split the credits and upbs and that's it.
EH-RK |
Also @GM I just picked up the pdfs of the AP because I plan on running it soon. Would you like me to keep the maps up to date?
EH-RK |
No need. I'm using the slide show we already have set up. The map is already there. I put us where I *think* we are. Feel free to edit the map
EH-RK |
On the sheet, which is as good as claiming it in game for me. It's just stretching credulity if all of a sudden we have like 50+ things to sell on Absolom Station when no one was giving any input as to the things they want to carry/use etc.
EH-RK |
I'm here. However, your combat posts are pretty light on info and any sort of prodding...
Foxy Quickpaw |
It's a shame that this is on a rock in vacuum of space. If it were a nice green jungle forest on Castrovel I could at least post about some geckos hushing by, some butterfly to pass or a snake slithering along. My fantasy is unable to come up wit the space equivalent of that at the moment, so I'm simply waiting for you to move the game on to the next place where there is something to tell about. Or to follow up on EH-RK's suggestion to contact someone.
Foxy Quickpaw |
Hiho.
I did a quick comparison of the damage the Gargakal does and the HP you have and how quick you might or might not be able to kill it, there is a gap that isn't in your favour. So I checked the advancement track. It tells, you should be 3rd level by the end of the adventure. As that is the last fight in the book, I'd say that is close enough. So please level up to third.
Boreal Typhon |
People have done the maths... technically we require 50 more xp to level at this point for a 6 person party I think. So at this point with a 5(4) person party we would hit 3.
Will level when I get home.
Also the latest pcgen beta has starfinder as a rule set
EH-RK |
lol... Yeah its gonna one shot us all at this rate.

Leveling up is pretty simple in SF, and I had kinda preselected my feat. Not that there are many options for a caster in SF at the moment.
Boreal Typhon |
Ohk... So if we assume that we threaten a cube out to 5ft:
X is threathened area,
B Is Boreal

Which I usually am on, and it's a moot point vs larger peeps.
And hmmm, not sure how feasible that would be for Tannhäuser to take.
EH-RK |
@Foxy How do you feel about us adding a replacement player when we get back to Absolom Station? We've lost a few since we began.
