"Is there a way to lure them all into that room and then lower the portcullis? Then we would have them all locked away and could investigate the rest of the prison." Jominda thinks aloud.

This is so going to bite us. But it is fun for sure :D


Narrator

While the group stands around the Oubliette a skeleton comes along and forces the group to start a funny dance to stay away from the hot burning undead.

"Let's do it the other way around. We put Father Grimburrow behind the portcullis and then end the spell. And when all the skeletons are standing in front of it you could use that holy channel you destroyed the skeletons on the second floor with." Jorfa suggests.

"Let's go and start by destroying that headless thing." Jorfa checks her hammer and walks over to the door opening it again. "Come in before the other skeleton comes back. Last one closes the door."

Jominda takes a vial out of her pocket and imbibes it. (Mutagen +Dex)
She follows Jorfa in and searches a place behind the table to be out of reach of the pacing skeleton. "Ready when you are." she tells taking out the ingredients for a bomb.

The skeleton is suddenly aware of the presences but too late to do something about it.

"Get out of the way already!" Jominda demands as her bombs are too dangerous to throw in when an ally is in the area.

Once Jorfa steps away she throws an ectoplasmic bomb.

Narrator

As the bomb hits there is a short succession of explosions. Once from the bomb and once as the skeleton explodes in a burst of flames.

"I see what you meant." Jorfa tells Father Grimburrow after ducking the rain of bone splinters. "That is a nasty habit."

Kendra still stands there, panting from the adrenalin the action gave her, even if she was more or less frozen in place.
"That is.... quite something." She says.

"Wow. And we have eight more of these bombs walking around outside this room." Jominda realizes in a mix of amazement and fear.


"I try not to get animated often. There is a reason I was so adamant earlier." Vauran says

"So what are we going to do about them?" Jominda asks. "I could easily bomb them away. But this works only good if they are in one place. but your holy ability has a much larger range. Could you not simply go out and get most of them with a single prayer?"

"If we close the portcullis I could just stand on this side of it.
That should attract it."

Jominda takes a look at the winch at the wall. Checking the mechanism she unlocks it and turns the winch a couple of rotations. "Does it move?" she asks.

Jorfa opens the door a slit and looks outside. "Yes, it came down a foot."


"This is my idea. Close the door once you start lowering the portcullis." Vauran says nodding, "Are we ready?" He says obviously steeling his nerves

"Ready when you are." Jominda tells and holds the handle of the winch.

"I'm ready to stand around until everything is over I guess?" Jorfa tells checking her hammer.


Grimburrow ducks out of the room and through the portcullis.

Jominda starts turning the winch like crazy to get it closed before the skeletons get to the father. But just releasing it is no option as it probably would cause a mess with the chain and not go back up.


Narrator

As father Grimburrow moves with a quick pace into the room and braces himself to face the skeletons he sees in the corner of his eye that a ghostly figure with a hideous grimace and a ridiculously large axe raises from the deep hole in the middle of the room.
Initiative Ghost: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Initiative Vauran: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11

The ghost approaches the Father and swings his axe he wields with both hands at him.
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d6 ⇒ 3 (+1d6 bleed)
Bleed: 1d6 ⇒ 5
The blood that flows out of Father Grimburrows wound hovers over to the ghost, becomes part of it an rejuvenates it.

On the other side of the portcullis the first burning skeletons gather.


"Pharasma help us." Grimburrow says as he steps away from the ghost.
As he steps away he proffers his holy symbol which begins to glow
Magic weapon converted to CLW: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9


Narrator

Even more skeletons come along so it's four that are already at the portcullis. The others still wander in the other hallways or in Hell's Basement.

The ghost keeps swinging his axe.
Attak: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d6 ⇒ 4
Bleed: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Sense Motive DC 15:
You recognize that the ghost moved to be further away from the burning skeletons.

"How's it going?" Jominda asks anxiously.


Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
"Well it is working." Grimburrow pants as he keeps moving to avoid the ghost and the flames, "But this ghost doesn't seem to like fire, and it seems to be able to heal with my blood."

as he speaks he maneuvers himself to hit the ghost and the skeletons with a channel but stays far enough away to not get caught in the explosion.

Jorfa opens the door a tiny crack and takes a look outside. "Still not all skeletons there. I guess he is waiting." Still looking she notices something moving inside and the Father trying to dodge something. "Oh my goodness. Something is inside the room with Father Grimburrow!"


Narrator

The skeletons explode immediately as they are washed over by the holy energy.
Will Save: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
The ghost not so much. The energy rips away some of it but there is plenty left.

"Now the skeletons are gone! Pull the gate up so we can go in and help him!" Jorfa demands.

Jominda again turns the winch like crazy, but this direction it is much harder to do.


Narrator

The ghost doesn't care about the gate. It simply continues hacking at that hated life in front of him.

Jorfa rushes out to aid Father Grimburrow. She swings her hammer at the ghost only to find that it goes right through it.

Jominda locks the winch and follows outside the room. "Kendra. quick. We must do something."

The father steps back and casts magic weapon on Jorfa's hammer. "May Pharasma guide your blows and may they strike true."


Narrator

The ghost seems to grin even more as he slashes at Jorfa.

+bleed. From now on everyone rolls his/her own bleed as it is on the beginning of one's turn.

Narrator

The ghost heals up on the blood again. But the hammer connects this time.

But the bomb lands in front of the ghost.

The father proffers his holy symbol and a wave of energy radiates from him

As the other skeletons wander out of the hallways again they notice the quarrel and move towards it.
