In terms of light, I'm shining my miner's lantern into the room as well.
Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Pathfinder Society Field Guide wrote:
Lantern, Miner’s: A smaller version of the bullseye lantern, a miner’s lantern provides normal light in a 30-foot cone and increases the light level by one step in the area beyond that, out to a 60-foot cone (darkness becomes dim light and dim light becomes normal light). A miner’s lantern does not increase the light level in normal light or bright light. It burns for 6 hours on 1 pint of oil. A miner’s lantern comes with straps for attachment to a helmet or other piece of sturdy headgear, but it can also be carried in one hand.
... nothing like playing a human after so many elves/etc. to make one really think about light!
I don't think I can answer that until someone can make a high enough (i.e. must be trained) knowledge(arcane) roll about the creature. You could be blind for 5 seconds, or you could be blind for the rest of your life, all you know is you walked in, and were blinded.
Knowing what I know OOC I would have entered the room differently...but my character didn't have the information to know that he would be blinded just by looking at the creature.
Even Tiann, who was the only character in the room at the time, couldn't have warned the group because she passed her save.
Remember the notes on dungeoncrawls. Too many blind characters and we run screaming like school children in a fire drill to the nearest exit and hope our burned retinas heal over time :-).
You are right, I was thinking of the wrong player. :) Go ahead and give me a DC15 will save in game...getting color sprayed is well worth getting this thing color sprayed.
Ice - Let me know when you're ready to start posting again, and I'll stop rushing actions for you and give you time to post for youself. Hope you feel better soon...
Blinded The creature cannot see. It takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class, loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any), and takes a –4 penalty on most Strength- and Dexteritybased skill checks and on opposed Perception skill checks. All checks and activities that rely on vision (such as reading and sight-based Perception checks) automatically fail. All opponents are considered to have total concealment (50% miss chance) to the blinded character.
Blind creatures must make a DC 10 Acrobatics skill check to move faster than half speed. Creatures that fail this check fall prone. Characters who remain blinded for a long time grow accustomed to these drawbacks and can overcome some of them.
When unarmored and unencumbered, the monk adds his Wisdom bonus (if any) to his AC and his CMD. In addition, a monk gains a +1 bonus to AC and CMD at 4th level. This bonus increases by 1 for every four monk levels thereafter, up to a maximum of +5 at 20th level.
These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks or when the monk is flat-footed. He loses these bonuses when he is immobilized or helpless, when he wears any armor, when he carries a shield, or when he carries a medium or heavy load.
No problem, one of the reason I am in the WIS is most important for Zen Archer Monk camp.
If you wish to use CMs, of course, WIS is not used :-( - a maneuvre master probably thinks differently.
Should have posted my ministats too.
I've heard some folks are still having problems accessing the paizo forums after their network upgrade. Don't know if that's anybody in this group though.
I'm just waiting on you guys to decide where to resume delving.
Yeah. I was only able to access the site because I have way too many internet connections at my disposal. It appears to be fixed for my connection, though.
Is destroying web via strength check a standard action? I'd like to take a double move, destroying webbing as I go, with the understanding that I'd be moving at half speed once I get to the filled squares.
20 move will get you to just west of Jory. You have enough movement for 2 10-cost moves through web after that, so roll 2 strength rolls to see if you make it through 0, 1, or 2 more squares.
The move and ready an attack is often a good option. You normally need to say what will trigger your attack. If you are an archer, a good example is -- as soon as one of those casters cast a spell, I pepper him (forcing a concentration roll).
Hey, all. I'm going to be heading to Paris for Wednesday-Monday for a technical workshop. I might be able to post in the evenings and will try to do so, but I can make no guarantees. Please NPC Tiann if necessary. Two things to keep in mind: Tiann can stabilize a creature as a standard action with a touch and gets a +6 untyped bonus on concentration checks to cast spells defensively. Thanks!
We'll wait for Ice to catch up and put all the 'advice' the team is giving together in his next action. He will be getting an extra +8 on his diplomacy roll (so far).
I'm sorry to see Ice go...his timely Color Sprays were much appreciated!
It would be nice to have another arcane caster but I suppose we could press on without one. Of course I doubt we'd have a problem recruiting someone new.
