Well done thus far. I am enjoying it...ready to use this big a$$ sword, myself! LOL!

Build doesn't look unreasonable to me. I'm not super keen on prepping CLW due to spontaneous casting, but at least it's the domain slot - if your other level 1 domain spell is really useless, it's probably worth prepping the heal, since you can't spontaneously cast using the domain slot.

Yeah. You have a point. The other domain is Glory, which is Shield of Faith. That's probably more useful. Oops. If we get a chance to get new spells I'll switch it out. Thank you for the heads up!

Yeah, if it's a spell you'll actually use like shield of faith, best to just spontaneously cure. :)

Grand Lodge (Male Elf Wizard - 1)

Agreed, pace was great.

btw, sorry bout the ghost sound snafu, got carried away with the "any sound" part of it

No problem, I was just kicking myself afterwards because I've seen almost that exact same trick used several different times and it always gets corrected afterwards, and I still didn't notice until too late. :)

We'll be using a map on this one (yay), so I'm prepping my first google docs map. It'll be up soon.

Ooh, a map! I prepare to move at cleric speed.

In terms of buffs, the only things I have prepared that I can cast on everyone are Guidance and Resistance—each with one minute of duration. The thing is that by the time I finished casting on everyone, the spells would be beginning to expire. I'm fine with doing one for everyone, but they are touch spells. Not sure how certain dwarves will react to that.

Talhaearn:
Do you want to start playing up your Andoran faction? I am playing my PC as if I have already made the decision and been accepted as part of the faction. Actually, if you read my background, that is how I achieved my initial training - through the faction. We can RP that angle if you are interested. I just was not sure if you want to play that up, or if you have even made your faction selection as a PC yet? Let me know.

Grand Lodge (HP 10/10 AC 17/14/13 F +1, R +6, W +1, Initiative +6, Perception +10 Low-Light Vision)

Jake:
I haven't made my final selection yet...but I am leaning in that direction. Maybe bringing me into the fold is a something we can play out?

Talhaearn:
Sounds good...I will work that angle slowly but surely.

If you're not in a hurry or fighting, I will let you take 10 on acrobatics checks not to fall in when moving near the hole (assuming your take 10 on acrobatics is at least 5). If you can take 10 and get 15 or higher, you can also take 10 on not treating it as difficult terrain, as long as you are not in a hurry or fighting.

Have I mentioned that google docs is the best thing since sliced bread?

Sorry about the name mixup. Was completely unintentional. =\

As for GDocs, I dunno. Sliced pumpernickel is pretty darned awesome. I'm curious how you're managing this, though. Just import the image from the scenario PDF into Drawings, turn on snap to grid, and overlay everything?

Grand Lodge (HP 10/10 AC 17/14/13 F +1, R +6, W +1, Initiative +6, Perception +10 Low-Light Vision)

There are no mix ups...just opportunities to role play!

Yeah, pretty much, just copied the image from the PDF and drawing stuff on top.

Not that it matters for this fight, Fnord, but I forgot that my Warrior Priest feat gives me a +1 initiative. I have updated my character sheet. I'm good for the next combat we have.

I bumped your init up one so it'll be right if the people who miss the surprise round roll near you.

I've got a question that's becoming increasingly relevant. If a player doesn't respond in a combat turn for more than a day, do we assume they hold their actions until they do respond?

Grand Lodge (HP 10/10 AC 17/14/13 F +1, R +6, W +1, Initiative +6, Perception +10 Low-Light Vision)

Ice did mention he wouldn't be around much this weekend...and sadly the weekend is over in a few hours.

I said I'd give people 24h, so around midnight (EST) tonight I'll post a reasonable action for him if he hasn't posted yet.

Grand Lodge (Male Elf Wizard - 1)

I am back now, thank you for the action, its probably what I would have done as well. Sorry, weekends are tough for me to be very active.

Grand Lodge (M Dwarf [AC: 15; ff 14; Touch: 15] HP=11/11 F +4/R+3/W+6 CMD 17 Monk (Zen Archer)/1)

Two down -- way to go. Rats--that picture was scary. Glad they didn't bite anyone.

Nah, they're not that scary. Besides, if that's all the combat we see in this mod, I'll be a little disappointed (no spoilers please!).

... and I'm the "more roleplaying please" guy. :)

Not a very threatening fight, by its placement I'd call it a warm up to make sure everybody knows where their weapons are. :)

I know where mine is...now just to use it...that is a different story!

For the Paracountess map, is north facing left also (therefore west facing down)? IIRC that's the Paizo convention, just want to make sure.

North is actually up on this map. It's on the full map but I cropped it down to just what you've seen so far.

Grand Lodge (M Dwarf [AC: 15; ff 14; Touch: 15] HP=11/11 F +4/R+3/W+6 CMD 17 Monk (Zen Archer)/1)

The dwarven diplomatic corps strikes again.

Half of me wants to use this Forbid Action spell on you, not the devil, Jory. I think you're doing a great job with the roleplay.

What kind of skill check/action would it be to grab and hold the box while the devil is tossing it about?

The devil stopped letting go of the box when he turned invisible, he is just smashing it into the floor, walls, etc.

Okay. What kind of action is it to physically wrest it from him?

Well, first you would have to catch him if you wanted to do that. Or I suppose that is within the rules of what you could do with a disarm, so that would work too. On the bright side, it's clearly a 'tiny' creature which means no reach, so it couldn't make an AoO on a disarm. First you'd have to successfully target him. If you do figure out exactly where he's standing, there's still an auto 50% miss chance targetting an opponent you can't see.

Grand Lodge (Male Elf Wizard - 1)

Can detect magic try to locate him?

You won't know until you try. :)

Grand Lodge (Male Dwarf Barbarian Armored Hulk / 1)

Lemme net him! Pretty please? Never netted anything before...

Grand Lodge (Male Dwarf Barbarian Armored Hulk / 1)

Umm...yeah...just too many darn rolls for that to actually work. But...I threw a net! Yay...

The chain of success required for the net trick to work makes success pretty unlikely (it's not even the skill rolls, I am using pretty low DC's for the skills, it's just hard to hit an invisible enemy with a weapon you don't have proficiency with).

That's actually pretty unfortunate, I just noticed you would have critted the attack roll so you actually would have hit him no matter what without the concealment.

I will go ahead and skip the perception from our wizard since it's just not relevant to the outcome.

I will have to reward the crit though...

Grand Lodge (Male Dwarf Barbarian Armored Hulk / 1)

Figured it was a stab in the dark; just goes to show you that it's always better to smash instead of catch.

How can you smash what you can't see?

Grand Lodge (Male Dwarf Barbarian Armored Hulk / 1)

Smash enough...you'll hit him

Grand Lodge (M Dwarf [AC: 15; ff 14; Touch: 15] HP=11/11 F +4/R+3/W+6 CMD 17 Monk (Zen Archer)/1)

Should have used the powder too.

Tal, you need to make a roll to see if you overcome the 50% miss chance on the devil's invisibility.

Grand Lodge (M Dwarf [AC: 15; ff 14; Touch: 15] HP=11/11 F +4/R+3/W+6 CMD 17 Monk (Zen Archer)/1)

Jory did say..."It is a good thing we found the powder in the warehouse. Time to get his house a little messy."

Now that the creature is visible, may I take my readied action?

Yes, I had forgotten about that, you and Jake can go now. Even though next round Jake's init will be before yours, go ahead and take your action now when you're ready.

Also, please come up with concensus on a two-wide marching order for when you are walking places, I will need that later for a different map and it's best to get the discussion out of the way beforehand.

I'm fine with taking up the front, along with anyone who wants to accompany me. Out of character I've got some of the better defenses and HP, and Tiann is very ambitious.
