It's going to take me three rounds just of moving to get there. If Rakdon is still alive after three rounds, on the 4th round I will draw my whip and use it to try a drag maneuver with reach to pull him out.

Round 4 drag: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Can he choose to not use his Dex bonus against me? I assume so...

Apologies for the delay. I had to go to freshman orientation and do a bunch of college course registration stuff. I can't update here cause I don't have my files (typing from the college CPU). I promise to update when I get back home, 'kay? Thanks!

so what happened, did I get away from it with my withdraw action and onto the ship. Obsiously I can't climb, but I was banking on the fact that there was a ramp around back.

Make a Reflex Save to see if you can jump up onto a section of the deck that hasn't collapsed yet.

Gaius can make an attack at the shark if he wishes.

I'm back! And for those that were curious, I have two words: strep throat. And third world country. As fun as it is being in the tropics of the Philippines, catching diseases while on vacation sucks major ass...

Yeesh, that doesn't sound good. Welcome back! I don't want to attack the shark, I just want to get Rakdon out of the water and have us all retreat back into the building. No sense picking a fight with a shark when we don't even need to go that way. I had a drag maneuver roll up above, but here's another when needed.

drag number 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

You don't want to kill the shark? Sharks have a high CR rating, I want the experience so we can level faster. Besides, there might be more loot that way on the ship in the back and the boat.

Nope, I have no interest in the shark. I want to get back inside and get to Lamm before the prolonged absence of his cronies or the sounds of someone being eaten by a shark alerts him that something is wrong.

That's also under the assumption that Fen is running it strictly as kills=EXP.

But no, Daud wants no part in the Sharkicide.

To DM: Yeeash, glad to hear your feeling better though.

Through both Rakon and Gaius' efforts, the elf is now out of the water! All that's left is a hungry shark who doesn't want to let his meal escape...

Tolenn crosses her arms as she see that Gaius had helped Rakon extricate himself from the water.

After pulling the elf safely from the dangers of the water, Gaius glares, staring angrily into Rakdon's face.

We are moments away from our vengeance, and you decide to take a stroll on your own? Have you forgotten Lamm's transgressions? You jeopardize everything we've worked for right at the moment of action! Do NOT wander off again. Come with us to claim what's ours, or leave, but if you alert Lamm to our presence I will throw you to his crocodile myself.

With that, the inquisitor returns to the warehouse to see Pyron off.

Friend, are you sure you want to leave now? We can tie up Hookshanks and have the children await our return. If you insist on leaving, please return as swiftly as you can. I promise, we will not fail.

Once Rakdone is on land and out of the water where the thing cant' reach he will fire an arrow back at the shark attack: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (18) = 22
and if the shark is still living he will fire one more arrow at it.
attack: 4 + 1d20 ⇒ 4 + (12) = 16
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Ok, I posted my previous post assuming Rakdon would comply. If he says nothing and just keeps attacking the shark, Gaius will take his attack of opportunity on him triggered by the ranged attack.

unarmed strike AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

nonlethal damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Then, on my turn I will punch again...

unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

nonlethal damage: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

That's 4 nonlethal which should knock you out. Not dying, but unconscious.

Gaius' first strike is off balance due to his anger, but he controls it enough to strike the maverick elf between the eyes, knocking him unconscious.

He unceremoniously drags Rakdon towards the fishery as he addresses Tolenn.

I want you to know, that it is solely out of respect for your beliefs that I don't throw this one to the shark. He is insane--he threatens to unravel all that we've worked for and I will not let him keep us from our rightful vengeance.

He will then entreat Pyron to help us fight Lamm, not trusting Rakdon to be up to the task.

dude seriously you are screwing up my experience plan, besides Rakdon would have done it when you turned your back and was at least at good few feet away. Besides this won't alert him by killing a shark, noise was already made.

I think you and I just have different expectations of what we want out of this game. I (and, it seems from their actions, the other players) am playing a character who has motivations and wants to accomplish certain things that revolve around driving a memorable, dynamic story. It seems that you view it more like a videogame with monsters to defeat and treasure to obtain. Neither is right or wrong, but if your goal is at odds with the rest of the group, then I just see this type of thing continuing to happen (which, no offense, is not very fun for me). I don't want to overstep my bounds as I am just a player in this, not the GM. But perhaps we should all talk this out in the discussion thread and see what the other players and GM feel about this?

Pyron stopped in his path and listened to Gauis. Help me tie him up to something for a moment. Once that is done, he motions the children to sit down and relax for a moment. Turning back to Gauis, Pyron continues in a low voice: I know that you want Lamm dead. I have to put a good show on for the sergeant, which is why I have been keeping the other scum alive. I also want a reward for my bounty. I still might get a reward for Lamm even if he is dead for all the crimes he has committed. He has a list of crimes and I want to collect on them not just from the militia but also from some of the wealthier people in town against whom he committed the crimes. I won't stand in your way of getting vengeance if you won't stand in my way of getting my bounty.

In fact, I am for vengeance and purifying this world of scum, so I think we make a great team. I will also see to it that you get a good share in the reward too including the others in the team that will work for it. I can find the work, we can cleanse the souls of those who need purifying, and we can collect the ransom for whatever reasons we choose. How does that sound?

Sounds Great Assuming he is not knocked out. The DM never said either way if he allowed the PVP. Or even if he agreed with me that Gaius wasn't near me at the time. As I looked at the map, and his picture wasn't near me.

I don't believe Rakdon was a part of the conversation. I believe it is a private conversation between Pyron and Gaius.

These terms are agreeable. And don't worry about any consequences from the law with what is about to transpire here. Even if we announce our presence to Lamm and try to arrest him, there is no way he will come quietly. We will have no choice but to kill him. And I will testify to this for your superiors, if the need arises. As to your bounty--you are welcome to it, and I will use my share to compensate the victims of this monster. I'm ready to move, if there is nothing more to be said.

Gaius will stow his other weapons and draw and load his crossbow, awaiting the others' responses.

Good. When we go see Lamm, I need to question him like I told you before. I need to know if he was behind my parents' deaths. I exacted my vengeance on the murderer, but if Lamm was behind it, then I need to know.

He turns to the children. It looks like I am needed in order to stop Lamm from hurting you guys again. I will be back. You stay here and keep an eye on Crookshanks. Then we will go to the sergeant where we will get you back to where you belong and to see if you and your parents can be given some kind of recompense, uh money or other useful stuff, for what has happened to you all. If you leave, you might not get anything at all. Do you understand?

Once the children agree, he knocks out Crookshanks, ensures he is secured to something permanent. Then he goes with Gaius to find Lamm.
