GM Faelyn |
Weekends are usually pretty slow on posting rates. If you are all waiting on me, then I apologize and will get something going.
GM Faelyn |
Hey folks, sorry on the delay. I caught whatever bug has been going around my area and it hit me hard yesterday with a high fever. I'm still mostly out of commission today, but I will hopefully be back to normal tomorrow. I will keep you updated.
GM Faelyn |
I'll have a post up shortly folks!
Syllyn |
Are we on hold? No post in days,
GM Faelyn |
I've been waiting for everyone to check in first before I moved on; however, I have heard nothing back from Neseth despite a PM and seeing his primary account active on the boards. So as of today, Neseth is being removed as an active player. I will get a post up shortly.
GM Faelyn |
Sorry folks, I know I promised a post today... The minor snow storm we were supposed to get today turned into a blizzard and a state of emergency was declared. I ended up working over an extra six hours because people are too stupid to understand what that means and stay home! So it's 5 AM and I just got in... I'll hopefully have a chance to get something up for you all tomorrow.
Syllyn |
Thanks for sticking with it and I look forward to the game continuing after you sleep. Though it might have been interesting to see what you would have come up with on no sleep.:)
Syllyn |
No worries...post when you can! :)
Now THERE'S a stark difference between player and character.
Sune Wanderlust |
Haha...indeed! I thought the same thing when I posted it.
RPing Sune as a super impatient character who always wants to be somewhere else has been fun, but I'm much more patient in real life! :)
GM Faelyn |
I was frozen and dog tired... I think the post would have likely looked like this: "Guarilja sdakal sdklja says i4fhfnb " ..........fdssssssssssssssssssssssss"
LOL. Thank you for your patience!
GM Faelyn |
Okay, so Neseth has been officially removed from the campaign. We will have another player joining us for the rest of the scenarios. I'm trying to include each of you in someway with all the NPC interactions whenever possible. If any of you feel your PC is being left out, please let me know!
GM Faelyn |
Not a major deal, just surprised it's so high in a low-level scenario. DC 22 is approaching iron reinforced door difficulty. Almost seems like a punishment for not having someone with Disable Device in the party.
Assuming we get the books back, I'll get one of the goals for the Dark Archive checked off. Whoo!
Yeah, I think the idea is to promote cooperation. The scenario specifically calls out allowing the group to assist with getting down the door if no one has the ability to open the locks. Also... there's a hidden key you can actually find, but have to look for it lol.
GM Faelyn |
Hey all, just wanted to let you know that I'm heading to Florida for vacation/visit family (my mother is having a hysterectomy and colon resection on 3/9 to take out some cancer) on 3/11 and will be gone until 3/18. I will not have any of my resources with me so my activity will likely be minimal to nil during that time!
Juhnavi Ahliwylia |
Juhnavi is not badly hurt, but Syllyn probably would do well with purchasing a casting of Cure Light Wounds. If he doesn't have enough to pay for it, Juhnavi will put in 2 gp (all she has in her purse at the moment).
Syllyn |
Good idea. If we have the time I'd like to buy a CLW.
GM Faelyn |
Sorry on my delay guys. My son got croup yesterday, so I only got 4.5 hours of sleep last night. Currently working and will hopefully be able to get a post in tonight when I get home.
Syllyn |
*bump* in case Faelyn needs this game to pop up on his 'recent' threads.
GM Faelyn |
Sorry folks. I had a lot on my plate the past few days and just wasn't quite able to get in here to post. I apologize everyone.
To give you an idea of what's going on, so you don't feel like I'm simply ignoring you... Without going into too much into the long story; two months ago we found out my mother had a tumor in her colon. Last month she had surgery to remove part of her colon and a full hysterectomy, because her doctor's thought that is where her cancer had come from. However, Friday, her doctor is now claiming that her tumor marker test (which somehow took two months to return) is now saying she has no cancer, despite being told a week ago that she had Stage II peritoneum cancer... So my weekend was spent trying to figure out exactly what the heck is going on with all this.
Syllyn |
Damn. Now that's a roller coaster ride.
GM Faelyn |
Sorry for my limited posting recently. Work has been very busy the last two days and one of our cars took a dump on Saturday, so yesterday my wife and I spent much of the day yesterday evening looking at cars and today we are going back to purchase one we found. I will try to get a post in tonight if possible, if not... I will have one tomorrow morning!
Golangar |
It's all good, take the time you need! My life has been busy lately as well, and I haven't been able to devote as much attention as I'd like to my PbPs. I'm keeping up with posting, but am not able to put as much effort into any individual post.
GM Faelyn |
Okay everyone, congratulations on completing The First Steps, Part 1 scenario! It has been reported and you can find your Chronicle Sheets here! Please look over them and let me know if you see any issues.
Let me know if you all want me to find a 6th member or if we want to just continue with 5!
*EDIT*
Go ahead and make your Day Job checks (if applicable), I will go ahead and get started on the Chronicle sheets for The Confirmation so I can have everything ready to go. I'm going to strive to be more active and keep things moving a little faster than our last scenario. I would love to give everyone an opportunity to respond to everything, but I think keeping things moving would be the better way to go. If you guys have any concerns about that, please let me know.
Syllyn |
I'm happy with 5 players. Especially now that we have a couple of PP under our belt to pick up those all-to-important wands.
Padesát-Dva |
Question for you, GM. My barbarian has the drunken brute archetype. (I own a copy of the Advanced Players Guide.) So he carries four wineskins full of kumis. It is unclear to me how many rounds of rage I can get from one wineskin.
How many is it reasonable to assume? I'm happy with as little as 1 per wineskin. I'm totally willing to roll with whatever you decide. :) He is capable of raging without drinking.
GM Faelyn |
So the archetype states an equivalent to a tankard of ale or similar alcoholic beverage. A pint (16 oz.) has often been considered the "standard" size for beer or any alcoholic beverage of similar strength of alcohol by volume. A waterskin/wineskin contains 1/2 gallon of liquid, which converts to 64 ounces. If you divide that by the 16 oz. serving size you get 4 serving per waterskin!
So you can gain 4 rage rounds per wineskin of kumis!
GM Faelyn |
No problem! Hopefully that was close to what you were looking at getting out f each skin. Also, Engleaktig, could you provide me with all the pertinent Chronicle sheet info? Preferred player name, character name, PFS #, Faction, Day job, etc.
Golangar |
Thanks for running that one Faelyn!
While I very much enjoyed that scenario, I think I'm going to bow out of the next one. I really need to reduce my PbP games, and this is a good time to do so. Thanks so much for running, and I hope you guys all have a great time in the Confirmation!

Understandably, Golangar. Good luck to you and Godspeed!
So on that note... Do you guys want me to find another body? We are running with 4 now that Golangar is bowing out.
Syllyn |
Syllyn is ready. His character sheet has been updated with his new found wealth. He spent 2PP on a wand of clw. I also swapped in a different feat (Saving Shield) for Lingering Performance.
I think the perfect number of players is 5, though I don't mind 4 or 6.
GM Faelyn |
If any of you fine folks know someone that would like to join us... Feel free to extend the invite. The only person I ask you not invite is Nohwear as he simply disappeared from the campaign without any explanation, nor any responses to inquiries from my end... Despite maintaining an active account on the forums. I do not appreciate players that act in such a manner. I understand that life takes priority over gaming, but I do at least appreciate something to indicate that you will be unable to continue, such as Golangar.
Padesát-Dva |

PFS #: 60243-52
Faction: Silver CrusadeDay Job: None
I think everything else is on my character sheet. Happy to respond to any questions.
This is my character's third game session. He has completed First Steps and Master of the Fallen Fortress.
Faelyn, I might be limited in posting for the next few days as I am headed to PaizoCon in less than 24 hours. :-) I bet I will be able to post at least once a day, but cannot guarantee.
Padesát-Dva |
Yay! Engleaktig! PatheticWretch here. I always have an extra-good time when we're both PCs. :)
:-D Hey, PW!
This is my barbarian with the drunken brute (drink for extra rage) and mad dog (I have an animal companion, but no ranks in handle animal) archetypes. The dog companion, purely for RP purposes, is sort of his conscience. Mechanically, however, the dog only has attack, not attack2. Because I have no ranks in handle animal, I cannot train him, and he won't attack "scary" things. That's when Padesát-Dva steps in--to protect his li'l buddy.
Did I mention his dog is a corgi? ;-P Yep, I'm bringing a big, angry, drunken barbarian with a fluffy, cute, little corgi.
Since we're only first level, I may "retrain" him before playing second level.
Padesát-Dva grew up in Varisia. His family was poor and itinerant. He wandered around a lot and never received a formal education. He was looked down upon for his lack of book smarts when he visited places like Magnimar. Soon, a Sczarni "businessman" introduced him to "correspondence school." After a mere two-and-a-half years, he finished his first three-credit class and received "official college credit." Since his coursework was in archeology, he decided that the Pathfinder Society was the next "logical" step in his "academic career."
Sune Wanderlust |
Your characters are always so awesome. :)
I love the detail and deviation from archetype.
Sune here is a sylph, a former powerful planewalker who lost fragments of her being in some freak accident, and now is weakened and constantly looking for the rest of herself. She is incredibly impatient and has little tolerance for things like talking or investigating longer than 3 seconds.
"Squirrel!"
Syllyn |
You can think of Syllyn as a reptilian tourist, soaking up the cultural wealth of the city, there to make his name in the world as a Skald.
Juhnavi Ahliwylia |
Juhnavi is a traveller from Vudra. Her most recent location before Absalom was Ustalav, where she was aiding a professor of the Sincomatik Academy of Sciences to investigate some strange occult phenomena. During that adventure, she acquired a Harrow deck infused with mystic energy, and a starknife that she suspects was made by the ancient Kellid inhabitants of that nation.
She'd be more than happy to do a Harrow reading for Padesat or anyone else interested.
GM Faelyn |
Sorry about the delay folks! Been up and down busy past few days, I tried to keep up with all my games, but failed to do so...
I'm going to setup a quick Recruitment to garner one more PC to flesh out the group at 5 and then hopefully fire this up tonight or tomorrow evening.
Uslad the Grumpy |
"Aye, I'll join ya party" - says unpleasant voice not neat but well-armed dwarf. "Who else will help you, groundlings..." - he adds softly, apparently thinking that no one hears.
Dwarf gunslinger with a Bolt Ace archetype is here! Combat power and bad temper are applied. I'll be happy to join your adventures and I'm really interesting to participate in all three scenarios. If possible and the place is still not busy, then I'll be happy to start. Thank you!
Igor of Caliphas |
"Well thith is thirtenly embarathing." Igor says sheepishly and damply to anyone in range.
GM Faelyn |
Well... I suppose we could take along two. That'll put us at six. The Guide says not to turn away unless it makes an illegal table... so welcome aboard Uslad! I'd like everyone else to check in and I will get The Confirmation going as soon as everyone is ready.
Igor of Caliphas |
"Thank you Mathter! Er, could I bring a pet thur?"
Uslad, my fellow lottery misser-outer. (It's Rilia you see. I'm under the hump.) Neither of us were stoned to death, though with our respective charisma scores you may have wished we had been. There's some special rule I think about playing the Evergreens at second level+. Looking at your gear you probably have a game or two in I'm thinking.
