I just wish they would make the Wayfinder app for iPhones. :(
Zirren Jenofone |
Egrin Tock is the current owner of the Sitting Duck; however, Zirren you would recall it being owned and operated by a different fellow, Larden "Ferret" Kried.
Rarely does a person with the nickname "Ferret" turn out to be an upstanding fellow but he was known. Maybe the new fellow isn't so bad...
Zirren Jenofone |
We will need to go to Jak'a'Napes for their cinnamon crusted flapjacks. That inn looks safer, but the sitting duck is the adventure bar :)
I want cinnamon crusted flapjacks.
Belladonna Goodbarrel |
D'you guys mind if I introduce myself? I just like knowing who I'm playing with.
My name's Nathan, and I'm from western Canada. I'm a first year English major with a focus in fantasy writing. Try not to hold that against me though, as I make plenty of mistakes in my written work. I've had experience in Computer Science and professional Baking, but neither of those courses paid tribute to my chaotic nature. I'm a student still living with his family, who looks like a dwarf, but has the personality of a gnome. I still play pathfinder face to face with a few friends of mine, and am currently running Rise of the Runelords as a first time DM. Pleased to meet you all!
Nathaniel Artegal Boote |
Belladonna, a question, please. I don't know that I understand what you meant by "go ahead and interact with...(your sister the NPC)"
Am I supposed to post interacting with her, and you will respond, or am I supposed to make things she says up on my own (which sort of sounds a bit scary).
Oh, and by the way. My real name is David. I'm 51 years old (an empty nester with four adult children, three of which live far away from me, one, my daughter, actually is living in Australia now, sheesh)
I've been playing D&D for 38 years. I run a few games on these boards, and that's about all I can think of.
Belladonna Goodbarrel |
Good to meet ya David! My goodness you've got tons of D&D experience under your belt, that's fantastic!
Go right ahead with making things up for Rosanne. I have no issue what so ever, just keep her NG.
It's just that I don't want to have to roleplay every member of Belladonna's family, and honestly they're just regular npcs. She'd be very knowledgeable in regards to the town, and she's a very good-hearted halfling. I don't mind if you change things up.
Zirren Jenofone |
Hello all.
My name is Robert. I'm a 44 year old computer programmer, married, with one 4 year old daughter. Started playing D&D when I was 12 and played it (and other games) on and off since. Haven't played at the table in 4 years (wonder why ;) ), play on RPOL mostly, this is my first Paizo boards game.

Name's Jasper. I'm a 34 year old actor living in California. I also choreograph fights for stage and film (right now I'm doing Macbeth for a local theatre company). I also work nights as a dispatcher for a private security company. In my spare time I do a lot of writing. I started playing PBP games to sharpen those skills during times when the ideas weren't flowing. It's paid off a lot.
Zilka Hemanax |
My name is Andrew, 34, living in Arizona. I'm a patent analyst for a company that contracts for the USPTO. I have a bunch of kids, and I play lots of pbp games to give my brain a break from time to time.
GM Faelyn |
Hey all, well I suppose it's my turn for introductions then... My name is Matt, 32, I live in Northwest Indiana near Chicago, married with an 18 month old son, who is my joy in life. As I mentioned in the Recruitment thread, I am a Deputy Sheriff. I like to do PbP to get away from the stress of my job; it's my way of tuning out all the terrible things I see as a police officer.
I am very much looking forward to the journey we are going to take together! I think I selected a great group of folks. Also, well played Bella, well played lol.
Greyson Caine |
That's awesome, Jasper. Have you ever played a role in something that I would recognize? I look forward to seeing your choreography in our battles to come!
no pressure =P
Mostly I do theatre, which don't often get videos made. I'll see if I can track down some of the footage of fights I've put together. As far as film goes,I've done stuff for local commercials and some student films, but nothing you're likely to have ever seen.
I did the action for this movie which is sadly still in development hell because of a legal dispute between the director and one of her investors. I'm not sure it will ever see public release.
GM Faelyn |
Hey guys, I'm down with the flu... If you guys want to continue your awesome interactions, please do. I will update you all
GM Faelyn |
That's what I had when I went to the doctor's office. I was feeling terrible and found out why when they checked my temperature lol. I'm back guys, I'll look over everything and get caught up tonight.
Ruhk... I'd really like to see a post from you?
Zirren Jenofone |
I'll be a bit busy today and tomorrow but will see if I can post some RP tonight. This week and next I'm off work so I won't post as much during the day as I often do.
GM Faelyn |
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays to all you guys! I am back now and will have a narrative post up shortly to help get things moving again. No rush on your guys' parts, I know its still the holidays for a lot of folks, so we'll take it at an easy pace for the next few days.
GM Faelyn |
Also! Another thing I wanted to discuss with you guys is the general tone and theme of the game. Given the setting and modules I am using, I am hoping to add a little bit of darkness/realism to the game. If at any point you guys feel uncomfortable or feel that it is getting a little too heavy, just let me know! I want everyone to have fun and enjoy this game.
That said, I am not going to get into super grisly/gore type situations, but incidents such as the description of the mother and her dying child I provided for Belladonna. Such is the mood I would like to set; an idea that all effects have consequences and that even the best and most innocent are not necessarily exempt from the harsh realities of life.
GM Faelyn |
That's perfectly fine with me. As long as you're not describing rape scenes, all's good on my part.
Good lord, no. I definitely do not get into that sort of thing, ever. So no worries on that instance.
Zirren Jenofone |
For personal reasons I have an exceptionally hard time with the deaths of children. Please don't use them too often or expect me to know anything in those posts.
I have a very high tolerance for gory violence on the other hand.

Completely understandable. I can work with that, no problem, Zirren.
GM Faelyn |
Hey guys, had to take my son to the doctor today for his shots and he is not doing so good. So I'm going to be taking care of him most of the night, therefore I won't have another post until tomorrow. Sorry all.
GM Faelyn |
Hey all, my son is doing much better, thanks! I would have posted sooner, but I have had a rather busy night thus far... That being said, I'm going to start on a post now!
Zilka Hemanax |
This is the most logical, natural-feeling 'they meet in a tavern' scenario beginning I've ever played. It feels like all of us have a perfectly logical, in-character reason to be there other than "Hey, we're in a D&D adventure, let's go to the tavern to meet the rest of the party!"
Belladonna Goodbarrel |
I've actually never started a campaign in a bar... wait never mind. Half orc fighter in bar. That went well.
How are you guys feeling about Belladonna so far? Still trying to work out all the kinks.
GM Faelyn |
I agree guys, you are all doing an excellent job! I am really digging all these characters and cannot wait to see you guys in action as a group!
Belladonna, I really like the little halfling thief! Also, if you guys want to make up background stuff as we go along I am all about fleshing out characters as we move along.
Also, going to give Ruhk the chance to get a post in before we keep moving!
GM Faelyn |
No problem, Zirren! Hope you're feeling better.
Also, got a post up to sort of help move things along... Ruhk, I'm trying to think of a way to get you involved with the group. Any suggestions? lol
Zirren Jenofone |
Ouch Nathaniel. I hope you can use your hand without too much discomfort soon.
@GM I am feeling better. Still a little tired but otherwise ok. Just in time to head back to work monday ;)
