The most vulnerable part of the caravan travels near the base of a cliff where the sounds of ever-louder chanting echo from a shadowy cave.
The female quartermaster sees your arrival. "Thank the gods! You have to help us! We've been constantly attacked by raiders coming up the path, but now, we hear something roaring in the cavern up ahead. Gods know what that is. Help!"

I say we give the token to a table that hasn't gotten the token yet, if we know who has or hasn't gotten it. Otherwise, any random table is good with me. Unless you want it boosted with knowledge,

Iskar nods to Torrag as he taps his four-legged friend with a wand. Turning to Laara, he offers her a spell. "Allow me to thicken your skin again, m'dear. And I'm incllined to agree with our wise dwarf companion. That cavern seems to be a good place to start."

As she moves past Chaine up the hill, the rider's comments about archers give her pause. "Hadn't even thought of that..."

Chaine offers a hand to Grim, "Krieger! let's ride double until we get to the top of that hill shall we?"
This will slow down my horse to Speed 35; that way Hugh can follow and gain soft cover from Silvermane. Remember that while riding you can gain soft cover as an immediate action with a DC 15 Ride check (Chaine automakes the check upon the first incoming attack). The soft cover remains as long as you want it, but you can't cast spell or attack while in that position; recovering to normal position is a move action.

Before Grim can respond, a series of wild calls emanate from the cave ahead, clearly signaling that the creatures within have emerged. At least one sounds like a large beast as its legs punish the ground.
The path ascends about 20 feet from caravan to cave mouth, with each cliff section being about 10 feet in height. These steep slopes have ample handholds and seem not too difficult to scale.

As she rounds the corner and fires her shot into the surprised orc, Laara sees the massive creature next to it. It looks like a large armor-plated shark, its toothy maw gapes wide as a fin-like dorsal plate rises between its shoulders. With a crash, it burrows into the ground and disappears underfoot.
All the orcs by the cavern entrance have bows in one hand and some sort of sticky bag in the other.

DESCRIPTION
These shining, silvery horseshoes bear designs of swift-moving clouds and anthropomorphized images of the wind.
When affixed to a horse, these horseshoes allow the horse to travel without actually touching the ground. The horse must still run above (always around 4 inches above) a roughly horizontal surface. This means that the horse can cross non-solid or unstable surfaces such as water and that it can move without leaving tracks on any sort of ground. The horse moves at its normal base land speed. All four shoes must be worn by the same animal for the magic to be effective.

The timing for buffs was: Vanguard combat and travel = 5 minutes + Leaders combat and travel to here = 7 minutes. So 12 minutes for today so far. I believe the bull strength's were cast before/during the Vanguard combat so they should be gone now. Everyone can double-check their spell durations as above (don't count time for the combats - they are included in the minute timings) Feel free to have refreshed spells if needed.
Barely able to see the orcs over the ridge, Chaine upon Silvermane rounds the edge of the cliff just reaching the orc with a solid hit. Grasping for air, it retaliates by tossing its sticky bag at the mount. Chaine maneuvers the horse deftly to avoid it.

Grim and Iskar cast some beneficial spells as Zaas and Hugh move closer. The remaining orcs finally spring into action, tossing their bags at Chaine's mount and Hugh, entangling the mount.
Around the same time, from the corners of your eyes, you see a band of four orcs appear from the underbrush (Purple at the top of the map) and leap down toward the caravan below.

As Chaine charges forwards and the...thing burrows below, Laara is about to join him. Suddenly however, she sees the second group of orcs swinging down from the north towards the caravans below.
"Cor! It's a feint!" She looks over at the mounted knight. "Chaine: you and the others think you can hold off these up here?"
Barely waiting for a response, Laara takes advantage of Grimm's casting to speed quickly in a circuitous route, placing herself next to two of the raiding orcs as she delivers a knee towards a sensitive area to one Let's go with the northern one

Suddenly the ground bursts open next to Hugh, and the massive shark-like creature tries to gnash its teeth into him.

The creature is a Bulette magical beast.
The creation of some unknown arcanist in millennia past, the bulette has bred true to become one of the fiercest predators of the hills.
Burrowing rapidly through the earth just beneath the surface, sometimes with its armored fin cutting a distinctive wake behind it, the bulette launches itself free of stone and soil to tear into its prey without remorse, giving rise to the common appellation "landshark."

At 8th level, you gain the ability to move through earth, dirt, and stone for a number of rounds per day equal to your wizard level. You cannot move through worked earth or stone; only natural substances can be traversed. If your total duration expires before you exit the earth, you are flung back to the point where you entered the stone, take 4d6 points of damage, and are stunned for 1 round. Your burrowing does not leave a hole, nor does it give any sign of your presence (although you can be detected by creatures with tremorsense). These rounds do not need to be consecutive.

Torrag slides through the earth as easily as the landshark and when he arises, the ground under the orcish archers sprouts hideous rubbery tentacles. The orcs strain as the magical appendages tighten around their legs and bodies.
Laara races to prevent theft from the caravan, taking a harsh wound from the beast as she leaves, but lands with a flourish and a flying elbow.
With a muffled roar, the great beast in the center unleashes on Grim, but only the monster's claw tears into his flesh.

The combined fervor of Chaine, Hugh and Grim bring down the bulette, dropping with a wail and sickening thud. Iskar begins to grow larger and Zaas finishes off a raider. The one with the supplies next to him step away and disappears with a swig. The archer orcs continue to struggle freeing themselves from the tentacle mess. Laara's frightened raider withdraws, crawling like a rat.
For a moment, Torrag sees two more orc raiders approaching from the top of the ridge. They pause, drink potions and subtly change. Unluckily for them, Torrag can still see them.
