EndlessForms |
Hello and welcome!
Before we start, please post the following:
PFS #
Day Job roll
Initiative
Perception
Thanks! Omrax is currently finishing a game I believe so we won't be starting until he finishes, which might be a week or two (?). He can keep us updated on that I guess.
Omrax the Bold |
My paladin, Omrax, will be 9th once he arrives. He has at least one combat left to finish on his current mission.
PFS # 9884-1
Day Job roll sailor: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Initiative +3
Perception +4

We should have four total unless you guys know anyone else to invite. Werepox should be joining us. He has a few characters in tier so I'm not sure what he's bringing but his characters are usually beasts so it'll be powerful no matter what, haha.
Omrax the Bold |
Very True. So 4 should be good. All my usual invitees are tied up.
EndlessForms |
@WerePox: Do you know how soon they will be available? I'm fine waiting a little while.
Alternatively, if anyone knows someone we can invite, go ahead and do so. Otherwise I'll make an announcement for it tomorrow.
Omrax the Bold |
Omrax is still tied up...I think we are moving towards the final fight now. I can check with my GM if we are in a rush.
EndlessForms |
No, we're not in any rush now that we need to find a new fourth. Besides, I'll be gone all weekend and just started a different module so giving me a few extra days is no problem at all.
GM Aarvid |
I checked with Thunderspirit...I was not sure if he had already played it, but he appears to have a couple characters in range. Hopefully that will work.
thunderspirit |
He does indeed! :-)
I have a Mgs9 and a Sor8 I can bring into the mix. (Plus more GM credit than I'll ever use, LOL, so I can build something if needed.) I haven't updated him, but upon further review the Wit9 I thought I also had has leveled out of this.
Also, Ilmakis: if Hedra hasn't played Valley of Veiled Flame, save her for that. You won't be sorry.
thunderspirit |
As long as Tek is okay with his Ranger (I presume it's Jostrum?) being secondary melee — cos I know Mordrak and Hedra aren't cut out for it — I think that works fine.
Haha, I also have a Cleric of Aroden whom I play as more than a little insane. (The low Wisdom score helps.) I think it'll be fun to see someone else's take on the PC concept. :-)
Omrax the Bold |
My GM said we are looking at 1 to 2 weeks to wrap up the final combat for Omrax, if that still works for everyone.
Ilmakis |
Works for me :)
I think I will finally took Kaâb, she will be able to fill a lot missing role (second fighter, disable device and support/heal).
Hedra is not insane not an oracle but it's the same spirit ! A friend of mine took the same model as you and his character is now 11 :)
Omrax the Bold |
Our GM expects to be finished this weekend....sorry again for the delay.
EndlessForms |
No problem! I started up a bunch of modules all at once so it's giving me a chance to get those ones under way and settled before reading through this one.
EndlessForms |
Looks like you're going to be the front liner no matter what so play whichever you want more.
I've never played this one so I don't know what to expect from it from the player's perspective, although I've started reading through it. It takes place in Jalmeray if that makes any difference.
EndlessForms |
I'll go ahead and set the scene in the Gameplay thread.
@Omrax: don't worry if you're not quite finished, we won't jump into the action right away until you're ready.
Omrax the Bold |
It should be fine, I think we will finish today or tomorrow unless my paladin decides to bring the wrath of the underworld upon himself...hopefully not.
Omrax the Bold |
We wrapped up today. Sorry for the delay, but should be good to go. Just need to update status line for level 9 and purchases.
EndlessForms |
So we are in the last fight and nearing the end now and I just realized that I only got a PFS number and day job roll from Omrax so the rest of you make sure to post those soon!
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this module. I had never played or run it and didn't know anyone with experience with it so I was going in blind. But the investigation at the beginning was decent and the first couple combats were good, although there were a few in the middle that were cakewalks. But these cultists in the dungeon have been really cool.
Omrax the Bold |
I had a great time. Investigation was well paced. Combats, especially with flying monk/wizard were entertaining.
I remembered some of it from when I ran it f2f for a home group years ago. Borrowed the hard copy so could not remember much. I do remember them having 6 characters all min-max 9th levels and they stomped everything. At the end, we ran short on time and I threw the three leaders into the final fight simultaneously and that was fun but hectic.
I'd still list this as one of my top 3 modules to play.

I'd still list this as one of my top 3 modules to play.
I think my three favorites would be The Harrowing, Doom Comes to Dustpawn, and The Midnight Mirror.
J'ngo Mordrak |
3601-5. No Day Job.
I will readily acknowledge that this one is quite good. My top 3 modules are probably Feast of Ravensmoor, Carrion Hill, and the third level of Thornkeep.
Hmm, evidently I loves me some Lovecraftian stuff.

So why isn't From Shore to Sea on your list? That's probably the most directly Lovecraft-inspired adventure I've seen.
Feast of Ravenmoor almost made my list but in my experience the combats were all a cakewalk in that one. I think I would have liked Carrion Hill better but we kind of rushed through when I played it and I lost out on a lot of the stuff.
Omrax the Bold |
Carrion Hill and Harrowing would have been my other two. I have not played Doom Comes to Dustpawn and The Midnight Mirror (but will put them on my list to try to play).

Probably cos I had an experience similar to your Carrion Hill one in Shore. I picked up the module later but still haven't read all the way through it since many of my locals prefer scenarios to modules.
