"Oh, Lore, I could use some healing, if you could."

Lorelendral Teklet |
Did you get the 13 point channel I just did?
"Of course, my dear Iggy..."
She taps him with the wand
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
if you didn't count the most recent channel, that should do you, if you did, here's more:
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
and that should take you to full if you needed it - if not, maybe someone else would take it... let me know so I know how many charges to mark off
Lorelendral Teklet |
ok thanks for letting me know
EndlessForms |
Eadie leads the way to the building, hoping to find shelter but instead is met with a locked door.
August Autumnwind |
I ain't got no spells, but I can do whatever ya want me ta do. August looks at the door. Hmph, now what?
Eadie Navhelan |
“I think we’ll see if Niko can pick the lock first, August. Otherwise, do you think you can break it down with your adamantine axe?”
@GM Endless, I was actually thinking we’d rest first somewhere else in the city and come back in 8 hours. Lore’s used a lot of spells and channels, and I suspect there’s a fair bit more fighting to come. I know we’re on a timer but I don’t think we’ve been slacking.
Is there any issue with resting and then coming back? I suppose we could check the next room, identify the occupants (if any) and then retreat to rest if possible.
"… most of my spells for the day are fire spells and that seems rather silly now, in the light of what we are facing here."
I think domain slots must be filled in advance, but the rest can be open
Oh, I didn’t know that. Thanks, Lore!
“Yeah, I know what you’re saying, Lore. But I can still see you lobbing fireballs and bursts of radiance at Iramine and her minions.”
Eadie almost forgets something. “Oh Lore, I almost forgot! I think you should have the brooch of shielding in case a spell-caster tries to target you with magic missiles to try and break your concentration.”
FYI – I think there is still a potion of cure mod left from the fight with the Razmiran Herald PLUS another one from the dragon fight. I’m pretty sure of the dragon’s three, August and Iggy only drank one each, yeah?
Nikomedes Diogenes |
Niko examines the door for traps, then tries to pick the lock, if not trapped.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Not sure he searched well enough, Niko takes a second look.
Perception T20: 20 + 12 = 32
Disable T10 : 10 + 17 = 27
Retro Healing: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 2, 4) + 3 = 16
Roland Garros |
"Are we taking zhe rest or pushing onward? I am fine either way. Zhe dragon did not hit me as hard as it did some of you."
If and when the door is unlocked, Roland will call a blessing into his longbow.
EndlessForms |
Ah, ok. If you want to rest elsewhere you can. Yeah, you haven't made any long stops yet so you still have time to rest if you want.
After examining the door's locking mechanism, Niko has a feeling it will take a bit more work to get it open.
Let me know your game plan after you've all rested and recovered spells.
Ignatius Van Hjorder |
"So, are we going to check out this building, or rest first? I feel alright with clearing this building first - it might prove an excellent place to securely rest."
So, if we're taking votes - I guess I vote for checking this building first.
Eadie Navhelan |
Eadie hooks an arm around Ignatius’s neck and ruffles the top of his head briskly, so the state of his hair matches her own.
“Rather than a vote – how about a compromise?”
Eadie straps the lizard chieftain’s shield to her left arm as she speaks. “Let’s give Niko ample time to pick the lock. Take 20 If that doesn’t work, August breaks the door down. We enter and find out what we’re up against. If it’s too much in our current state, we let off smoke and EVERYONE withdraws.”
“I think that dragon was just the *ahem* warm-up – and it nearly took out half the party. We’re going to be doing more fighting and SOON! Let’s just find out against what first and be ready for it. Yeah?”
Ignatius Van Hjorder |
"Hmm, I hadn't thought about that. I guess I figured the dragon there was protecting something a little more vulnerable. Maybe taking a tactical rest before checking this place out is best. Either way, I like your compromised idea, Eadie."
Roland Garros |
"Zhe plan is sound, Eadie and Ignatius. I am at zhe ready when you all are...and zhe door is opened."
Roland has bow in hand, ready to bless it once the door is opened.
EndlessForms |
It takes Niko a few minutes but eventually picks the lock and opens the door to reveal a small, 10-foot-by-15-foot ledge high above a pit filled with gold coins. A similarly sized platform lies across the pit to the north. A door stands partially open in the northern wall on the far platform. A rope stretches across the pit, secured by pitons to the walls next to the doors in the north and south walls. The ceiling ends in high arches above the platforms.
The pit is 45 feet deep and filled with 15 feet of coins (so they are 30' below your level). There are handholds carved into the ledges, requiring only a DC 10 Climb check.
August Autumnwind |
Wha... Why are all them coins there? August seems fascinated by the pit of gold coins.
Eadie Navhelan |
“So you climb down to fill your pockets with coins and get attacked by whatever’s hiding under them, August.”
Eadie doesn’t like this set-up at all.
“I guess the rope belongs to Iramine.” Start climbing across and at the half-way point, something rises up and takes a bite out of you, like a Great White shark lunging at a surface swimmer.
“I think the monster-spotters and I should stand on the platform, while Lore lobs a random fireball into the pit to see what emerges. Whaddya think?”
Lorelendral Teklet |
"I only have one fireball and i was hoping to save that vs IRamine... I could summon something to walk around on the coins and see what happens."
Lorelendral Teklet |
Lore summons a creature into the pit. For the first time in her life, she wishes she could summon a fiendish creature so the poor thing would be resistant to fire/heat. But she can't... so she summons a celestial creature knowing the poor thing might be toast quickly.
She leans down and casts and at the edge of the coin-filled pit, a small fire beetle appears (making its own light if it needs it) and wanders aimlessly on the pile of coins, unless it discovers a threat to attack, in which case, it trundles quickly forward to begin attacking.
to hit, if anything shows up: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
dmg if hits: 1d4 ⇒ 4
oh of course, when it's probably not even necessary, NOW I roll well... sigh
EndlessForms |
As the fire beetle appears on the bed of coins, a sharp-featured humanoid head appears out of invisibility, followed by a powerful, sinuous body! It looks as if it is coming out of some kind of induced trance!
The fire beetle skirts forward and bites into the creature!
naga: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Ignatius: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Eadie: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Lore: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
August: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
August: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Roland: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Niko: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Initiative:
1. Lore, Eadie, Roland, and Ignatius
2. Baddie! (4 dmg)
3. August and Niko
Lore, Eadie, Roland, and Ignatius are up!
Lorelendral Teklet |
yay for the fire beetle!!!
The fire beetle takes another bite at the naga before it is probably quickly dispatched.
fire beetle to hit: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
dmg if hits: 1d4 ⇒ 1
... and this time it misses its target.
Lore casts produce flame and tosses one at the naga.
to hit, ranged touch: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
dmg if hits: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
(1 of 6 flames used)
Then Lore moves back 20 feet from the edge of the platform so she's less likely to be included in some kind of area affect spell.
Roland Garros |
Roland grins as he sees the giant bug bite the snakey woman.
"Well done!"
He pulls back on the string of his blessed bow and fires a pair of shots.
Roland +1 Ad darkwood comp bow, PB, Rapid: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 20

Roland +1 Ad darkwood comp bow, PB, Rapid: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 27

Eadie Navhelan |
Eadie throws off the lizardman’s shield move and places a second hand on her morning star as she swipes at the thing.
morning star + PA + FF: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
CI damage: 1d8 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
She curses at her weak strike.
Knowledge (dungeoneering): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
“It’s a Dark Naga. An aberration immune to poison and with guarded thoughts that protect it from mind reading. You can expect it to cast spells at us.”
“Lore, you can hit it with a fireball next time, if you like. After it’s down, we’ll rest up and you can regain that spell.”
With a quick glance to her left. "Iggy, if you want to swap places with me, just say the word." Possible 5' step
EndlessForms |
Lore hits the naga from above with a ball of flame! Roland then peppers it with arrows.
Eadie, realizing that the naga is 30' below her, sends down curses at the aberration! You can change your action if you wish.
Initiative:
1. Lore, Eadie, Roland, and Ignatius
2. Baddie! (44 dmg)
3. August and Niko
Ignatius is up!
Eadie Navhelan |
Thank-you, GM Endless. I’ll change by actions to:
Eadie retreats 20’ out of the naga’s chamber, move drops her morning star free and draws her potion of fly. second move
Ignatius Van Hjorder |
Sorry, I had to delete my previous post, hopefully before anyone saw it. It's a Monday.
Ignatius draws his bow and fires a shot at the naga.
Comp. Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Eadie Navhelan |
Nah, it's Tuesday, buddy! ;)
(That Monday will end)
EndlessForms |
Wednesday is my Monday this semester. Early class + web conference + boring colloquium + late class with a few hours of work between it all.
Iggy puts an arrow in the naga, who now looks badly injured in addition to looking a bit out of it. She nonetheless has just enough strength left to shoot a lightning bolt up at you from below!
Looks like I can hit Iggy and Roland.
electricity: 7d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 3, 5, 6, 5) = 34
DC 16 Ref for half
Initiative:
1. Lore, Eadie, Roland, and Ignatius
2. Baddie! (54 dmg)
3. August and Niko
You guys are up!
Lorelendral Teklet |
Not sure if it's even needed, Lore gets ready to throw a fireball at the naga, but holds off til the archers are done... if it's still up then, she'll throw the fireball.
August Autumnwind |
Bah! I can't reach it! I hate this thing, but...
August will use his bow!
Bow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 for Arrow: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Lorelendral Teklet |
I guess I should prep my readied action, just in case it's needed:
Move til she can see the Naga again and cast:
fireball damage if cast, refl 1/2 dc 17: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 2, 6, 2) = 22
Eadie Navhelan |
Eadie delays until Roland and August go, before dropping her potion, (free) drawing a javelin as she moves 20’ back onto the platform (move) before hurling the missile at the naga. (standard)
Javelin: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Roland Garros |
Roland tries to dodge the electricity... tumbling and straddling the arcs, but still being partially burnt.
reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
"Cursed fiend! Zhis day you will regret having awaken! Zhy end is near!"
If the snake still moves, he will fire another pair of arrows her way.
Roland +1 Ad darkwood comp bow, PB, Rapid: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 22
for dmg: 1d8 + 5 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 1 + (3) = 16
Roland +1 Ad darkwood comp bow, PB, Rapid: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 1 - 2 = 13
for dmg: 1d8 + 5 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 + (2) = 9
Lorelendral Teklet |
oh, and that fireball, IF it's needed and goes off - is disruptive as per the metamagic feat
EndlessForms |
Close enough.
Eadie and August miss their targets but Roland finishes the naga off with an arrow to the chest!
Out of combat!
Lorelendral Teklet |
Lore gratefully puts her spell components for the fireball back in their pouch and peers down at the corpse of the naga while detecting magic to see if there's anything worth going down and getting.
Lorelendral Teklet |
before casting detect magic, she does channel again to heal all those hurt by the lightning.
channel heal: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2) = 9
Lorelendral Teklet |
"Nothing magical on the corpse, or down there at all, so I see no need for any of us to make the excursion... we could rest here if we can secure the doors, I suppose."
Eadie Navhelan |
“Sounds good. I bags first watch again!” The young warrior strips and cleans her armor and weapons while wearing her lamellar leather. She shakes her head ruefully as she examines her broken polearm.
Eadie then prepares her swag for bedtime, before her tummy reminds her that the party didn’t stop for lunch. “I guess it’s a cold supper tonight, Lore. As we don’t have any firewood and you can’t burn gold.”
During her watch – presumably with Ignatius – she will discuss the days’ events quietly while keeping the illumination function of her wayfinder active.
“That was the first dragon I’ve fought, Iggy. I can see why they have the reputations that they do.”
Roland Garros |
"Zhank you very much, Lore. Zhat feels Alittle better. "
Roland taps himself with a cure wand
Clw : 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"Now I am good to go . "
Lorelendral Teklet |
"Anyone else need any healing before we rest?"
