Deciding that fully searching the slaver compound would be best, the party heads north. Clay bricks line this long hallway. Toward the middle, the wall is gouged out, creating a makeshift cave. A wooden door blocks the end of the hallway. A sign nailed to the door reads “keep out” in the common tongue. Two more hollows along the west wall seem to lead elsewhere within the caverns.

There's a single gnoll brute here but you guys have more than proven that you can defeat multiple gnoll brutes, I don't think we need to fight one at a time....

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

In the middle, where the small closet door is:

Toward the back of this small alcove, there’s a low, five-footsquare concrete cube sealed with a small iron door and held fast by a drop bar.

The box currently holds a single prisoner, a wild-looking Vudrani woman in her early twenties. She is half-starved and dressed in dirty rags, with manacles binding her hands and feet. Initially terrified, the woman screams, kicks, and claws at anyone coming near her.

The monk then also checks a seemingly unopened door.

I moved myself to a door on the map - not sure if it is one we've already checked.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Dalton opens the door to find that a curtain formed of several dozen strips of leather isolates the next room. Tossing this aside, you see a chamber with a plain wooden conference table with six chairs sitting around it. To the east more brown curtains partition off other rooms. A pair of badly stained tapestries woven with complex paisley and rosette motifs hang on the southwestern wall.

Within the chamber is the powerful black gnoll you recognize as Gnarlpaw. He holds a falchion and growls, "About damn time."

After that Appraise check:

DC 25 KN (religion):
Both artifacts are associated with ancient cults devoted to Lamashtu, though most common folk would think the items simply creepy oddities.

Dalton stares intently at the various objects and scribblings on the wall. "Sadly, it is times like these in which I am reminded of the words of a wise man. 'All I know is that I don't know nothing...'"

Untrained Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 18

"Well now, wait a second... The artifacts are mostly well-made fakes. Two items, however, are authentic. The first is a geode split into two that, when opened, reveals within the carving of a monstrous, jackal-headed fetus (a relic worth 2350 gp). The second is an unsettlingly realistic glass eyeball with three pupils, worth 1790 gp."

"Oh, the jackal-headed fetus is kind of cute, don't you think?" Dalton smiles.

"So... do we have anything left to explore up here? Shall we go pay our respects to Lamashtu?" Dalton waits a couple of beats. "Of course, by 'pay our respects' I mean, 'beat the tar out of the enslaving, cultist scum.'"

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

At the far end of this cavernous grotto, the dull glow of foul-scented copper braziers illuminates the massive facade of an impossibly twisted temple coarsely chiseled into the living rock. The temple resembles the face of a hideous three-eyed jackal, flanked everywhere by pillars carved in the shape of gruesome copulating monstrosities.

Indeed, guarding the way forward are four living monstrosities: some sort earless of jungle cats with twitching faces!

DC 11 KN (arcana):
The krenshar is a strange creature that resembles a large but earless hunting cat, save that it can retract the fur and skin on its face to reveal the glistening skull and musculature underneath. Combined with its strange, keening wail, this horrifying display is enough to paralyze prey and send formidable opponents running.

Krenshar's retractable skin allows it to dine on carrion with a lower risk of picking up disease-carrying vermin, much like a vulture's bare head and neck. When the creature finishes eating, restoring the facial skin to its normal position scrapes off gore and clinging bugs. The ability to retract their skin is demonstrated in other contexts as well—male krenshars bare their skulls at rivals as a challenge over mates, females use this ability to ward off undesired suitors, and hunting adults use it to scare prey into ambushes.

Dalton claps his hands once and dashes right at the cat closest to him, with the yellow spotting, attacking with all his might.

Stunning Fist, Charge: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 = 11

At the last second, Dalton stumbles on a rock and his fist misses the cat completely.

I'm going to say that Dalton ran out of his mage armor potions by now (I haven't really been keeping track. He bought 5 of them at the start). So, his AC is 18.

Later, when they reach the temple of Lamashtu, Ennoia is one of the first to react to the monstrosities. She fires a volley at one of them. The red one to start with. If he dies early, please redirect the remaining arrow(s) to orange.

Brachus will cast a magic circle vs evil on himself and takes a step to the side so that the protection from his spell surrounds most of the party (except Dalton)

Brachus is impressed by Ennoia's accuracy with her bow.
