The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

You note that the main pen to the east currently holds seven women and four men, half-staved and badly shaken. Shel can easily unlock the cage to let them out. They mumble to you that there was another woman but that a black-furred gnoll burst in a few days ago and grabbed her, dragging her off screaming. Frightened to leave on their own, they tell you that they would rather wait for you to escort them out later.

Having secured some of the slaves, you burst through the southern door. The natural cave beyond has been lavishly decorated with golden lamps and expensive tapestries, and carpets cover the cleanly swept stone floor. A thick squat woman with ruddy skin and heavy eyeliner sits behind the worktable on which are piled books, papers, and a brightly glazed clay coffee urn.

She smiles as you open the door, exposing her tobacco-blackened gums. Stepping out of the shadows are three slaver thugs to defend her!

Dalton swiftly enters into his Snapping Turtle Stance and shuffles past Ser Terramor to squeeze himself between the rough wall and one of the brutes. He then tries to grapple the gentleman.

So, the rules for squeezing into a tight space state that characters in such a position take -4 to AC and to attacks. Grappling is specified as a standard action, not an attack. However Endless, feel free to apply the -4 to my roll above if it should be applicable. AC is at 21

A small lockbox contains six jaspers worth 100 gp each, a blue sapphire worth 1200 gp, and a small figurine the shape of a curled-up spider that functions as a stone of alarm.

Having subdued the woman, you can try to interrogate her but quickly realize that it is futile as she was only a slave trader and seems unaware of any other foul dealings down here in the underground.

Otherwise, he leaves the other things. "I suppose we should keep up the search, since this woman can't help us."

Dalton offers to walk side-by-side with whoever leads the way.

Thankfully, when clerics interrogated the body, the corpse proved to be nothing more than a vagrant with a passing resemblance to Othine, the tattoos obvious forgeries."

“This situation doesn’t bode well for Othine. I believe the slavers have captured her and may be torturing her for information, or worse. If she’s been caught, the slavers certainly suspect we’re investigating them, and will be on the lookout for undercover Eagle Knights. I need someone not directly affiliated with our organization to get into the slavers’ base, discover Othine’s true fate, and finish what she started by dismantling the operation.”

Three slavers guard the cages in the area beyond the woman's office. Also in their company is Othine Dalanse! She wears the simple clothes of the other slaves down here and is being escorted by a gnoll and two human slavers. When she sees you it looks as though she has just grabbed a longsword from somewhere. She runs towards you pleading, "Help! Help!"

Othine is in green on the map. The gnoll is pink; the others are humans.

My computer ate my post from yesterday.

Dalton pays no attention to the threatening stance that Othine seems to take, though he does note that it is curious that the woman he was expecting to rescue seems to be turning on them. He keeps his focus on the slaver thugs.

Dalton enters his snapping turtle stance and tumbles on the ground through the thug's legs and ends up in a flanking position with Sir Terramor. He then tries to grab the gnoll in a classic wrestling grapple.

Grapple: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34

AC is 23 do to Acrobatics movement.
