This guy did not get out of the game in time, as we weren't as far into the scenario as I thought, sorry, but he won't be in this one.

Edit: I don't have other available characters I can use either unless I make a new character, and I'm not doing that until it is confirmed I get my slyph boon from Gming my pfs game that was reported yesterday. If that comes in, I'll make another ranger within the next day or 2. I assume they send you the slyph boon via email?

No problem! I almost always run the new ones anyways but I don't usually like to GM a scenario more than once (not only because it gets kind of boring for me as a GM but also because I don't get XP for my characters after the first time). But since this is a replayable one and because I'm running low on low-level characters I thought I'd go ahead and run it a few times so I can make a few new level 1 characters from the GM credit.

If there are no objections I'd prefer to bring my Cleric 1/Urban Ranger 1 to the table instead of my Psychic.

well, is it okay to create the slyph now as if I actually had the boon, or do I have to wait for actual evidence that I have the boon? Because you do get the boon just for dming, which means I technically have it/I technically do not. Not sure if doing that would be legal or not. I have a limit as to how many pfs characters I will have and I definitely do not want to go past 7, unless I end up with racial boons and that is the only way I'll make more, which means the slyph will already be my 8th.

If not then I'm going to have to drop out so that you can replace me.

I think you have to wait until you actually have the boon in hand, even if you are promised to get it eventually. Sorry about that. So if you are waiting for your sylph boon to create a new character I think you're out of luck for the moment. Good luck with the sylph when the boon does come in though!

I just want to warn everyone that, despite my best efforts, a blizzard will be arriving later this evening and by this time tomorrow I will be digging myself out of approximately 2 feet of snow. Not sure whether I'll have consistent power or internet as a result of the storm but I will check in as often as I can.

In the meantime I have the day off from work tomorrow, plenty of beer, and the wife is planning on making cookies; so please don't worry about me too much!

Heck, I'd take 2 feet of snow if it meant a day off and cookies. Then again, I live in Wisconsin so I'm sure we'll get plenty of snow soon enough.

Meh they can be not as evil. Some people just blow it way out of proportion. It is no different than having a summoned devil or demon. You could just roleplay it as when you summon something you could ask the spirits for willing participants for a short duration and then lay them back to rest at the end of each scenario. I don't see how that would be considered an evil act.

No, I mean spells like "animate dead" mostly.

It does say evil on the spell but does not necessarily define it as an evil act otherwise if it was then any spell with evil descriptor would be banned such as infernal healing which is used quite often.

I think as long as it is not abused and raising an army around town or whatever then most people would be fine. I kind of want to make a necromancer now and try to find spells with using the onyx gem as a last resort. Maybe just use summon monster to summon skeletons and debuff.

But anyways this is a rabbit hole of a discussion that is already all over the forums so I will quit hehe :)
