Sir Terramor the Blue Knight |
I generally can't post on weekends and when I checked on Friday, it wasn't yet my turn.
Terramor rushes forward to attack the wood golem.
+1 Adamantine longsword & Power Attack & Gang Up: 1d20 + 12 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 12 - 2 + 2 = 191d8 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 4 = 15

Wreck |
RS: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
The theck plating and the fact that he raises his axe to make the golom into more splinters help that he isn't cut as badly

@Alie: oh! Sorry, I forgot about the pit entirely!
climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
The glass golem tries desperately to crawl from the pit but is stuck!
Ryster finishes off the wood golem! I'll let the rest of you retcon if you want since I forgot the glass golem failed against the pit last round.

1. Fendahl
3. Sir Terramor, Maps, Ryster, Wreck, and Alie
4. Glass Golem
Sir Terramor, Maps, Wreck, and Alie are up!
Maps |
Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Maps prepares to fire his weapon, but with the wood golem already he instead springs forth a wand and heals himself.

Sir Terramor the Blue Knight |
Cross-posted above. Will change action.
Sir Terramor marches across the ruin of the wood golem, saying "Good shot, Ryster!" and advancing on the pit.
Alie Saechel |
"I can dismiss the pit when I want. Get around it, so you can charge in and take it out when I do. It looks wicked dangerous, so this need to be well organized."
EndlessForms |
Create Pit is not dismissable. It will be there for 9 rounds (1 round has passed already).
Oh, and I moved Wreck back five feet. Don't forget that the 5' around the pit (which is 10x10) are sloped and if you end your turn in one of those squares you have to make a Ref save against it (with a +2).
The party begins to advance on the pit!
Initiative:
1. Fendahl
3. Sir Terramor, Maps, Ryster, Wreck, and Alie
4. Glass Golem
Alie is up!
Alie Saechel |
Oh my bad...I completely misunderstood pits. I was under the impression they were dismissable, lol.
"Er, never mind. This stupid pit is going to be here for a few more seconds. Everyone gather around, and gang rush it when it vanishes.
Alie stands and waits for the action to start.
No action this round, DM.
Fendahl Silvermane |
I lost track with the pit Retcon...did the golem splinter before it was destroyed? Will roll two saves incase matters.
Fendahl Reflex : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

"Why wait." Maps says as he cocks back the hammer on his firearm and approaches the pit.

EndlessForms |
@Fendahl: yes, the wood golem went between you and everyone else, so it splintered before it was destroyed.
Maps' bullet hits a vital spot and sends glass shattering down in the pit!

Sir Terramor the Blue Knight |
Sir Terramor positions himself where he thinks the golem will emerge and waits, ready to strike the moment the creature comes within his range.

Who needs epic weapons when you have hot lead...
*KaBOOOM!
+1 double-pistol - same as before (ranged touch attack): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Alie Saechel |
Alie waits, quite happy to see her plan working out well this time. After that bit with the mannequin, she needed a pick me up.
No action, DM. Things are going swimmingly without me right now!
Ryster Demarkarios |
Don't forget you need to make a Ref. Save if you end your turn next to the pit.
Ryster moves up toward the pit.
Double move
EndlessForms |
@Maps: yeah, you should be fine. Since the edges are sloped you should have line-of-sight.
Despite his weapon not being epic in quality, Maps continues to chip away at the golem!
climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
And I'll just go ahead and call it. Maps can take it down from range and even if it does get out of the pit, being surrounded by everyone waiting for it means it won't last long.
Congrats on taking down a mythic glass golem!
Luminous glyphs cover the central pillar, providing dim illumination.

Studying the pillar, Ryster calls everyone over. "Look at this. It describes the portal to the library is in the pillar, and it tells ya how to activate a sage jewel."
Pointing, he says. "And there's this here secret compartment.
Maps |
"Hmm." Maps looks at Ryster's discoveries as he cleans his firearm, removing the unfired adamantine bullet and loading regular shot. His knowledge of things arcane rudimentary at best, and jumbled at the moment, Maps lets those with real expertise decide how to proceed.
To be useful, he gets out his wand of healing, uses it to heal some of his splinter scratches and offers it to anyone in need.

Alie Saechel |
"So this means we can get out of here when our mission is finished without waiting for the sage to come retrieve us?"
Once Alie identifies the items, she advises Wreck or one of the other Melee types to take the golembane scarab. Alie takes the scroll, just to be on the safe side.
Alie Saechel |
"It lets you hit constructs much harder. It makes your attacks much stronger against them. Trust me, you'll like it!"
EndlessForms |
To be clear: you need a sage jewel (or something like it) to activate the pillar/portal. Tahonikepsu is too far away since you should be hurrying to stop whoever is stealing things from the library.
EndlessForms |
The tunnels here gradually ascend west to the surface and desert outside. Clearly the place has been breached, as Badru mentioned earlier, and this sort of thing should probably be reported.
Maps |
"Maybe breaking Badru's gem was a mistake." Maps says. "Unless the Shards can still be used.." Though he doesn't hold hope for that.
Back to the mummy sphinx I guess..?
Fendahl Silvermane |
Fendahl will report their findings of the portal.
"Hrrmm, yes we found the portal we sought. But lack the key to operate it."
He will let the more arcane of the group explain how it works.
EndlessForms |
"Ah, yes..." Saruna responds, thinking. Although she speaks in riddles and rhymes for a while, you are able to gather the following from what she says: Only a Jeweled Sage can open the portal. The Amethyst Sage copied the design of her own gem when crafting Badru’s soul focus and Saruna’s gem heart. You might be able to purify and empower one of these gems to create a flawed sage jewel. Although the replica cannot store memories as a true sage jewel can, it should be sufficiently convincing to fool the portal and other devices and guardians here.
When you retrieve a piece of Badru's gem, Saruna first begins purifying it (and the person who carried it, as it contains a minor curse), performing a 1-hour ritual using the moonlight in Thoth’s chapel.
Once the gem has been purified, you can use the gem to absorb the blessing of Isis from the room below. Doing so requires you to stand within 20 feet of a glass golem (which has reconstructed) and present the gem as a full-round action; it causes the golems to lose some of their powers and stop attacking and transforms the gem into a flawed sage jewel as the room is flooded with near-blinding light.
This gem functions as a stone of good luck. It fits into a wayfinder like an ioun stone, granting a +1 bonus on Knowledge checks as a resonant effect. The gem functions only in this scenario.
Wreck |
"Wreck has own stone in finder thing. So Wreck no taking this stone"
Unless he is only one who is willing to stand up to a glass golem and survive. The +1 to saves and stuff might be handy.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Alie Saechel |
"Wreck I'm not sure if the rest of us can get close enough to the golem to activate the stone."
Ryster Demarkarios |
Ryster grumbles. "I got a wayfinder. I'll take out my stone and put that one in. I've got an extract of shielding I can drink and my mutagen is still active
"
AC would be 29
Fendahl Silvermane |
Fendahl offers a barkskin spell to Ryster as well.
"Hrrmm, I do not like the sounds of this, but if this is the only way, then we should not tarry here."
EndlessForms |
Once you present the stone, the construct will not attack. You're doing things a bit out of order here so I'm trying to make it work how it's supposed to.
As someone brings the stone closer to the pillar, they feel a resistance at first, as if the pillar is unsure or is double checking the possessor's wish. After concentrating on opening the portal, the pillar fractures and spirals open, revealing a 10-foot-wide ring gate. The party hesitantly steps through....
A cool breeze swirls off the water of a vast underground lake surrounding this location, carrying the scent of old parchment from the vast library. To the north, three statues appear to support an immense crystal. Constellations shine in the darkness above, while a luminous solar disk drifts slowly north to south, brightening the library with golden light. A door to the south leads into a small building.
Ryster Demarkarios |
Ryster's mouth falls open as he gazes around. "Well, would you look at that?"
"Which way you reckon we should go first?"
Alie Saechel |
"Well now, how interesting. I'd have never considered a place like this would exist. I'm a bit scared to go toward those statues first, after the glass and wooden monsters. Why don't we go south first, and maybe we can find a way through the statues."
Maps |
Maps mirrors Fendahl's nod of agreement, but his expression is wary and his firearm is out.
Since it took an hour for the sphinx to adjust Badru's gem, Maps would have renewed his mutagen and taken it before headin through the gate.
