@Grim: yes he did. And because you have Combat Reflexes you can take AoO while FF.

Druthane digs his blade into the gearman (no confirm) but only does a small amount of damage to the hard creature. Grimdoc, Hagrym, and Jaysin all miss with their attacks.

Realizing that his weapon is not enough to damage the creature and that Druthane has some power to overcome their defenses, Rhydderch flashes his blade about, hoping to distract the robot so that Druthane can land a solid blow.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Oh no! I updated this last night but my post clearly got eaten. Well, let's try this again:

Ander deals a blow to the robot and although his weapon does little to harm it, the electrical shock has clearly damaged the robot's systems. Druthane likewise has trouble harming it with his weapon but deals a small shock that blows a few fuses.

AoO mwk spear power attack on Rhydderch: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 2 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 4 = 20

Rhydderch moves over to heal the fallen dwarf while Hagrym and Jaysin attack unsuccessfully.

The first two robots pause momentarily as a wave of microscopic material washes over them, fixing many of their gashes and blown fuses and rewiring their circuits.

The third one attacks Jaysin!

Same here. I'm currently contemplating my action, which might be a withdrawal. I don't think constructs are known for performing a coup de grace; so as long as everyone who is down can stabilize dragging people out one at a time is a possibility. Of course I'll eat one, possibly two, AoOs when/if I withdraw so I may be taking a dirt nap with my new friends soon enough!

BTW is this scenario is at all indicative of what Season 6 has in store my characters will be sitting on the sidelines until next August.

If Druthane killed his target I'll take the roundabout route avoiding AoOs. If Dru's target is still alive he'll take the more direct route...most likely drawing two AoOs.

If Ander went down after the first hit the fourth gearsman would have moved over to attack Rhydderch, although missed.

Druthane deals a heavy blow to the nearest robot but the machine man still moves!

Yep, looks like no matter what Rhydderch is going to get two AoO:

I guess Rhydderch and Druthane are up (maybe) to see what they can do/if they can get away with their lives.

And no, not all of Season 6 will be or is like this. The first three have a Numerian focus to kick things off but not all of them will and even the other two are not this deadly. I've seen others saying that this encounter can be rough.

I don't blame you for retreating. If we'd have all done that a round or so earlier, that would have been the smart play. I have to say, I'm going to read up a bit on the adventures before I commit to a season 6 scenario again. We had no shot against that group. And don't worry, DM, I've had the opportunity to play in a great number of your games, and hope to be in many more! TPK's happen sometimes...that keeps it exciting!

This scenario was brand new and I don't think there were any reviews posted before we committed. I'm happy to throw what I can into the hat as far as gold & PP goes if anyone is interested in being raised from the dead.

No worries on retreating either...its the best tactical move. Grimdoc was thinking that was our only option but never made it to round two to act on it. If we are APL 4.5 playing on a CR7-8? combat, that is supposed to be rough. Just out of curiosity would there have been 6 of those guys or just tougher in the 6-player scaling?

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Ok, with 4 images I think Druthane can retreat out of their easily without dying.

So Rhydderch and Druthane can make it out but unfortunately everyone else in there is going to be finished off by the robots.

First of all you will need to get your bodies recovered:

Guide, p 26 wrote:

Have your body recovered by a rescue team 5 PP

Then you'll need to get raised:

Guide, p 26 wrote:
Raise dead 16 PP

Then you need to get two permanent negative levels removed (well, you don't have to get them removed right away but if you can you should.

Guide, p 26 wrote:

Restoration 2 PP (4 PP to remove a

permanent negative level)

Also, don't forget that you can't spend PP on other players (although you are more than willing to chip in GP on spellcasting services):

Guide, p 25 wrote:
Player characters may not pool Prestige Points to obtain more expensive boons or services, even if they are members of the same faction. As a general rule, Prestige Points are designed to be spent by characters on themselves.

If you are paying gold for the Raise or the Restorations, the cost is 10 x CL (minimum to cast the spell) x spell level (+ material costs of spell):

Raise Dead: 5000 gp of diamond + (level 5 spell x CL 9 x 10) = 5450 gp
Restoration: 1000 gp of diamond dust + (level 4 spell x CL 7 x 10) = 1280 gp

---------------------------------------------------

I will wait to fill out chronicles until everyone has figured out their Raise Dead situation and how you are paying for it so I can note it on your sheet.

Unfortunately you will get 0 XP, 0 PP, and 0 GP from this adventure but it still has to be reported and you still have to keep a sheet as a record that you've already played it.

Please post your PFS number and make a Day Job roll.

I just had to resurrect one of my characters this week...another situation where APL has us playing up and the lower level characters are, understandably for the most part, ill-equipped for the higher tier challenge. So between that game and this one I'm a bit turned off to PFS at the moment and probably see myself stepping away for a bit. Absolutely no fault of the GMs...some of these scenarios are just poorly designed.

I can't tell if you or I are the bad luck!....

Well, Ander only has 15 PP due to having an AP chronicle applied and spending some PP for a past body recovery and some wands. I could sell gear, but I don't know that he would be viable after that.....

So a grand total of 5+16+8= 29PP. Grim has 17PP at the start of the adventure. So he can do the recovery and restorations (13PP) but will have to pay cash for a raise dead. So unless he can turn 4PP into a discount, he will sell enough gear to get to 5450gp

Jaysin barely has the PPs for the restoration and recovery but not the Raise Dead. Once I sell off everything worth something I'm still 750gp short.

Well, I shall throw myself at the mercy of the GM. I can't get to the map, but Druthane is strong enough to carry Jaysin. I'd bank on my Mirror Images to give me the moment to get him out.... Would the GM be willing to call it as done?

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Standard to pick him up and move to get out probably, sure.
