Brak Thunderstriker |
"Aye... that bugger hurt. At least I got a swing with me axe solid enough to turn into a drinking story! HA! *cough*
Brak rummages around for a bit before producing his own wand, Aye, same here. Someone use this doohickey on me?"

Haven't heard from Hingle in a long time. Is he still with us?
Pierre and Brak lead the way to the door across the hall. What was once an exercise yard for inmates is now a choked yard filled with dead grass, animal nests, and trash. The yard is open to the sky and at the north end the ruins of a gallows can be seen. In the northwest corner of the yard a small, rickety wooden platform leads up to a single, heavy door. Unfortunately, this yard is now home to a giant scorpion intent on eating you before you go any further.

A handful = 5, as in one for each finger.
You move back into the hallway and check the next door, which is neither trapped nor locked. This large room was recently cleaned—piles of trash are swept into the corners, the six tables and dozen benches here are spotless, and the majority of the spider webs and vermin nests were cleaned from the corners. A set of sturdy double doors sit in the south wall, another is set in the west wall, and a single door in the northwest corner leads north into a small kitchen.
A man and woman stand ready in the room, the man in chain armor and holding a rapier and dagger and the woman wearing no armor but fingering a spell-component pouch. "About time," the man mutters.

Pierre hefts the rapier and decides to keep it and leaves his crappy dagger on the floor, choosing to replace it with the shiny one in the man's belt. "Hmm... quite a haul." he remarks as he stows his two new weapons.
