GM Elberion |
Johnny feels much sharper after the drinks but still has a fuzzy headache.
Now at -2, all I’ll effects go away at -1, which is a nights sleep away, and you will be fine after two nights rest.
GM Elberion |
Last chance to aid the diplomacy check, or make your own check. Currently at 13.
Carson Stevenson |
Carson is dealing with Johnny so I am not sure I can.
"Yes we are after goblins that threaten the region. They have gotten into some bad stuff and it is effecting their judgement."
Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
GM Elberion |
"Well, I must say, you're much better mannered than those goblin fellows. Yes, much more polite. A pleasure to meet you all." He blinks cheerily at the group of adventurers.
"Would you like a cup of tea?"
GM Elberion |
To be fair, it is getting late: this is the last encounter of the day (barring random encounters) so if you want to pow-wow with this creature it won't cost you time.
Carson Stevenson |
"I am not much of a tea drinker but if you some something a little stronger I might be persuaded to stay and chat awhile."
Carson is still not sure what this creature is but if it has any information on the goblins it might be worth a little chat.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Verathis L. Adrazek |
"Come Grel we would have to camp soon anyway.Verathis says to Grel. He than turns to the creature and in a much more formal tone then he has used these past few days he replies,"We would be delighted to share a cup of tea with you good sir. Your hospitality is most generous."
He then whispers something to Carson.
Grel Veldgott |
Grel is anxious to move on but feels the pull of the group. I can be enticed by an ale perhaps. He rejoins the group.
GM Elberion |
The tea is woody, like the creature has heard of tea and done his best to recreate it from the forest.
"So, what brings you into my realm?"
Carson Stevenson |
Carson sits down and accepts the cup of tea that the creature offers.
After the first swallow he reaches for the bottle of wine that Verathis offered.
"Something or someone is stirring up the goblins in the region. We are seeking to find them and put a stop to it."
GM Elberion |
”Ah, these goblins, yes. They have passed through my realm. Very messy, strange.”
Ink Adrazek |
Ink crawls out of Verathis back and wanders to his tea. He manages to grab the teacup without breaking it but when he goes to drink he just bops his head. On his second attempt he uses his stinger to tip the cup. He gets one good sip in before the cup tips and the tea spills over his head. He tips the cup upright with the hook of his stinger and the outside of his pincers then scoots it forward waiting for it to be refilled so he can try again.
Grel Veldgott |
Grel grows a bit impatient. We would be happy to rid the are of goblins for you if you point us in the right direction.
GM Elberion |
"And how there messiness differs from other goblins?"Verathis adds setting his tea down.
"Oh, mess and muck, messy and mucky... sores and weeping, oozing pus. Not right, they were definitely not right."
"The big one had a big curvy sword, and long pointy ears, hunched he was, with squirming purple oozing from that back. Writhing is, i think, an apt word."
The caterpillar-creature shakes its head sadly, "And the other, oh, she was covered in scars."
"and before, or was it later, there were the ones with the human. All tied-up she was. Dark hair, afraid."
"I can give you directions if you like? I know much, even of the lands beyond my borders."
Befriending Asiclassus gives you directions so that you no longer have to make survival checks to follow the trail.
The creature invites you all to sleep in a grove in his demense.
"What news from beyond the woods? Far have you travelled? Perhaps? Yes? See. I am knowing."
GM Elberion |
The Katroome purrs with enjoyment, ”Oh, yes, The Absalom, well, it doesn’t do to be behind, no, no.”
The creature concentrated very hard, going slightly cross-eyed, and changed colour to a rich burgundy, ”Deep red. Yes. ‘I am lucky, I can wear sophisticated colours.’ ”
Verathis L. Adrazek |
"Very nice."Verathis complements.
"Humm, I did hear a rummer recently of a sword of living Ice challenging an Aldori Swordlord to a duel. Apparently the rules for the duel allowed the swordlord to use a magic sword as well. As luck would have it a sword of fire arrived in town at the same time. The hilarious part is the moment he picked up this 'Magnos the Ash Lord' the sword unleashed all its power and burnt him from head to toe. He never even got a swing in on the ice sword. He lived I hear, but can you imagine how embarrass he must have been to lose a duel to your own weapon."
GM Elberion |
Asiclassus chortles, Surely the sword should have challenged him to unarmed combat!”
The Katroome offers to prepare mushroom soup for the morning.
Nice PF Tales reference. Those books are great.
Last chance to speak with the Katroome before morning arrives.
Carson Stevenson |
As the group gets ready to leave Carson moves over to Asiclassus, "I don't mean to be rude but can I ask you what you are. I have never heard of anything that matches your race in my travels."
GM Elberion |
The mushroom soup is thick, nourishing, earthy...
"Katroome, with a silent 'E', people always forget the 'E'... We are rulers and emissaries of the deep forest, and have our ways and means, means and ways, of being unseen." It smiles at your interest, "obviously you will wish to tell many of our meeting. Please, show restraint and only direct the most gracious fellows to my dominion. I would not wish to be trampled by the unworthy."
The Katroome waves you off with its paws, big green eyes blinking in lazy merriment, "Don't forget my instructions. I'm sure you won't, they were most excellent."
GM Elberion |
After a few more hours travel, you enter a small glade.
The rotting corpse of a goblin occupies the center of this small glade. Its eyes and face are missing, as if they were chewed or pecked off by wild animals, and its corpse is covered in purplish, festering goo that seems to be liquefying the body.
