I would have to agree with Kirsteen here, Khaldrun is a bit of the book worm when it comes to this stuff. Alistair comments with a wink to Kirsteen.

As far as what that other fellow turned into, its anyone guess but probably some sort of undead. and about the only thing I know about them is I hate them, especially mummies

Khaldrun

Spoiler:
You find out that Scepter works or at least worked for the Pathfinders and worked with Milla. He wants to know where the Scab went and who the party is. Milla describes you the party to him but does not know where Raegos is.

I get to run a Pbp chase scene
Xaven Sense Motive vs. your bluff check 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
Torsk initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Xaven initiative 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Xaven bolts and gets the jump on you trying to get away. You can either roll your escape artist check to bob and weave through the crowd or you can push people out of the way

For Kirsteen and Cooper, Raegos continues His skin turned grey and he proceeded to hunt down my traveling companions. after which he pours another dram of whisky and pours it on the groud. To the dead, may they find peace!

Male Human (Osirian) Wizard 6 (HP 62/47; AC 17, touch 13, FF 14; Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +5; Init +12; Perception +13)

Khaldrun activates his Pearl of Power to recall the Vanish spell and then moves into the doorway to the tent, readying himself to cast the spell should anyone make a threatening move, holding his rod in his left hand, mostly tucked into the sleeve of his robe so it's obvious he does not intend it to be used as a weapon.

"Milla. Scepter was it not? I fear my ears are burning. What business did you have with myself and my companions Master Scepter?"

This might be kinda silly, but Khaldrun should be pretty badass at running away if push comes to shove.

Wouldn't an Acrobatics check (you can keep your balance while traversing narrow or treacherous surfaces. You can also dive, flip, jump, and roll to avoid attacks and overcome obstacles) be more applicable to the circumstances to kinda tumble and move through the crowd :)

Acrobatics 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

if not lol then my escape artist

Escape artist 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Damn, I did this yesterday now I have to redo it

Khaldrun: Milla turns to you and says This is, I guess, one of our colleagues Scepter, he has been working for the Pathfinders for at least five years.

Scepter then says To be honest I was looking for Mithral Scab an old buddy of mine, she and I have been on a couple of hairy capers in the past and I thought Milla would know where she was. She told me she was traveling with you and your friends. And I asked her who you were

Torsk: Xaven Escape Artist check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 He is able to gain ground on you and turns a corner and knocks over a falafel cart, which enables you to gain ground on him.

Escape Artist check 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
roll another escape artist, an acrobatics and a climb check

Running through the crowd, Torsk is able to gain ground through his deft agility, cunning and his ability to read the flow of pedestrian, and animal traffic.

Xaven was able to maintain his lead just barely traversing a large pit but when confronted with scaling the wall of a store front, Torsk was able to grab the foot of the halfling, flinging him to the ground.

Xaven a bit bruised, says Ok, Ok, I give up, I'll come quietly.

@Khaldrun,

You are not able to discern any falsehoods told by Scepter.

Male Human (Osirian) Wizard 6 (HP 62/47; AC 17, touch 13, FF 14; Fort +4, Ref +5, Will +5; Init +12; Perception +13)

Torsk will make his way back to the tent of 'secrecy' with the halfling. If the little turd tries to run or escape in any way I will grapple him and keep dealing subdual damage until he passes out cold.

And Torsk will look at the halfling and say in a stern voice, I should pound you for throwing falaful cart on me! DO NOT TEST MY PATIENCE!"

Intimidate 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Shot Putter Funkmeister

@Khaldrun Man your quoting my paraphrase.... The best you would know is that he worked on a few jobs with Milla and Mithral Scab. And Milla believes he still does.

Torsk drags the halfling by the ear back to the tent where Lanfear, Cooper, Kirsteen, Mithral Scab and Raegos are still conversing.

Raegos still in mid sentence After my problems in the Pyramids, I figured the best way to avoid the curse was to go to Avistan, where I served as a mercenary and .... he turns to see the halfling in his tent.

I'm a bit confused, you mean I don't know that in character? Even if he does not know for sure it seems a reasonable supposition since he has worked with Milla and the Mithral Scab, so Khaldrun will ask anyway in the hope of getting him to reveal something.

Shot Putter Funkmeister

Its supposed to be ambiguous, no problem... At least what youve heard from what Scepter said he hasn't lied and Milla's assumptions are ok

Scepter says Look, I have been working with the Scab on this mission and I need to talk to her

Milla answers the question, Scepter is one of the best the Pathfinders has, he was a protege of Kal Tarrow. Scepter is a great marksman, as well as an Evoking specialist and such. Alas, I have been in quasiretirement for some time so after such a display, maybe he is no longer a Pathfinder... He prolly guessed I wasn't in the loop. Cooper, Khaldran or Scab would know more...

If you've already successfully used Stealth at least 10 feet from your target, you can make one ranged attack and then immediately use Stealth again. You take a –20 penalty on your Stealth check to maintain your obscured location.

GMEDWIN:
If I'm carrying on the conversation with Milla I'm in the tent and he can't hit me I need to be outside for him to hit me surly? Plus that seems more like a ten second conversation than a five minute one. I'm presuming Khaldrun would be waiting outside for his companions to return. I'm not sure what the terrible conditions would be either, all the listed examples are for poor lighting, loud background noises, etc. Cover and partial cover confer no bonus to stealth so it does not seem like a crowded market should apply. It does not seem like a market place in daylight should confer a +2 let alone a +5. And although there are ways to change it isn't scorching ray a short range spell? Sorry if I'm being paranoid, but it seems to be very uncharitable to say Khaldrun does not spot him, you've literally got to assume the worse possible scenario in everycase and that something is impairing his vision.

PFSRD wrote:

Unfavorable Conditions 1 Favorable and unfavorable conditions depend upon the sense being used to make the check. For example, bright light might increase the DC of checks involving sight, while torchlight or moonlight might give a penalty. Background noise might reduce a DC involving hearing, while competing odors might penalize any DC involving scent.

Terribl;e Conditions 2 As for unfavorable conditions, but more extreme. For example, candlelight for DCs involving sight, a roaring dragon for DCs involving hearing, and an overpowering stench covering the area for DCs involving scent.

I fully expected your character to be interrogating Milla, which from how you have been playing him is a fully reasonable assumption, as opposed to standing in front of the tent forgive the old army expression with a thumb up your ass. The Wandrifle which is Scepter's weapon was specifically designed for this module, has an effective range of 100 ft. Being able to shoot a man or his rod through a 1/16 of an inch canvas sheet at 70 ft is more than doable. If spotting a prone character on top of a building at 70 ft is so important.
