I have to take a break and crow a little bit.

I'm curious to see how combat plays out in Starfinder. From the developer commentary, it sounded like the expected result was PCs would be high AC, low attack, and monsters would be low ACs, high attack. Pairing monsters and PCs results in combat a lot like Pathfinder, but pairing PCs against PCs and you get a lot of missing.
We don't have a lot of the details, and 1 combat doesn't make for much data, but so far it seems the enemies are rocking pretty hefty bonuses against our relatively low ACs. Perhaps that will change with a bit of money and picking up heavy armor proficiency.

What's the Break DC for a pulsecaster shaped like an umbrella? Idar is about ready to snap this thing over his knee.

I just wish the DC for Trick Attack was lower.
Rationally I know it'll get much, much easier as time goes by but right now rolling a 14 or higher is a tall order.

Diamaante, your tactics in this combat have been fabulous. Game recognise game. All of you have been very strategic in this highly-difficult combat, TBH, but Diamaante, you’ve been stellar.

Thank you! This is my first real firefight and I am just trying not to die!
I think it's Goon #2's turn now since Jaxom moved down in the initiative order?
By the way, we really ought to buy a bunch of serums of healing when this is over...
Male Kasatha Soldier (Sharpshooter)
Idar carries a healing serum and some medpatches, if we need them.
Also, Idar will soon be carrying that Vesk's gun.

I will be out of town from Friday through Sunday. I will check in if I can, but I likely won't be able to post much until I get back. GM, please bot me as necessary.

It's like an itch I can't scratch - didn't I read that one of the classes has the ability to create cover out of junk that it finds lying around? Why can't I find that rule now?

I think the barricade feat lets you create it anywhere (like an open field) but you can find it in areas naturally.
The Mountain's Maw |
I think the last post in the thread gets to the heart of the utility of the Barricade feat.

So, to practice my use of the Cover rules:
Idar sticks out from behind the table. He has Partial Cover (+2 AC, +1 on Reflex saves).
Jaxom is behind Idar. He has Cover from the table, and Soft Cover from Idar, depending on the direction his attacker is coming from. (Right now the table is more relevant than Idar.)
August is firmly behind the table. He has Cover.
Telion has a wall between himself and our foes. He has Total Cover.
Diamaante, who could really use some medical attention, is adjacent to the wall. She has Total Cover from Ferani and Cover from the Goon.

Intelligence - weirdly people with that profession seem to go with low Charisma scores nearly universally.

Idar, I think we know where your rolls for this combat have gone. Telion must have stolen them. That solarian is a beast!

This is a ‘1st level characters’ alert.
Telion is about to DIE. He has 1 resolve point. He will lose that after his next turn, which is before any of you act in the next turn. Once he loses that, he is dead.
If any of you have a medipack, serum of healing, or stabilisation skill, now is the time to deploy it. Diamaante has already gone this round.
Alert over.

August, did you just say that you were a villain? An anti-villain is a villain. Starfinders aren’t villains. You can be an anti-hero - that’s fine. That’s Wolverine.
An anti-villain would be Hank Scorpio.

Getting caught up on the barrage of action, I think I missed something. I should be at 1 resolve, stable at 0 hp, correct? When I went down, I could have spent 1 resolve point to stabilize on my turn, and have one remaining, and you only die if you must spend a resolve point and have none remaining. I didn't miss something and get shot while unconscious or anything, did I?

Side note: Would it be easy to tell when a solarian is dying vs. dead due to their solar manifestation? Do the solar motes wink out immediately upon death?
Male Kasatha Soldier (Sharpshooter)
If Telion has a reserve point left, we should wake him up and let him turn that into Stamina points over 10 minutes.
If he has no points left, he really should drink Idar's serum of healing.
