I think one of the local clerics can do that - what is the spell level?
Also, I failed to include the reward money. You'll get another 500 GP from that. Or 100 each.
Nátulcien Ar-Feiniel |
2nd level cleric/oracle/druid/wiz/sorc/witch/bard spell.
Getting a cleric to cast it should cost 60g so 210g total. Not too bad. If that's alright, I'll go ahead and deduct that and put the armor on my profile?
GM Derek W |
The town stats say spellcasting 5th - I'm guessing that's caster level, not spell level? In any event, you've got access to at least 3rd level spells, so go ahead and make the switch.
Angus the Tenderizer |
Derek, if you are too overwhelmed with your other games to handle this one, I'm fine with us calling this off. I'd rather lose 1 game than risk burning you out completely.
GM Derek W |
I'm OK with going on. Craig/"Darian" did buy the module after all. Gettting the map details up may break versimilitude a tad, but it should speed things along - you can look and decide exactly where you'd like to go.
GM Derek W |
So I just became a Paizo subscriber today. Jumped on board both AP's and modules, though I might cancel again after just one of each.
Still, I will now be getting Tears at Bitter Manor, a module for levels 5-8. Also set in Taldor, it could be a nice follow-up to make this more campaign-ish.
Still a long way to go in DD, though.
Let me ask you guys this - obviously I'm committed to running the games we've got started, but if I had to pare back once they finish (including the gameday one I promised you) would you be MORE interested in pursuing things with these characters or your regular PFS guys?
Angus the Tenderizer |
Regular PFS, but thats more because I've played them longer and thus, am more attached to them.
I'm also not really feeling the Brawler as a class. Mechanically I'm just kinda "Meh" about the tricks it can do. Perhaps now that he's 2 and has his flurry, he'll come alive to me, but I miss the ability to get masterwork weaponry for a cheap +1 to hit, and with the flurry already lowering his to hit by 2, it'll be a flurry of misses for a long while.
Nátulcien Ar-Feiniel |
Nat will get Magic Fang next level.
I like Nat a lot, and wouldn't want to stop. However, I could always recreate her in PFS if I want to.
Does the chronicle sheet for this come in multiple parts like for an AP, or do you have to finish the whole thing to get it?
Yasmin |
Tough call Derek!
I like Yasmin, and I also like Dimitra... I can run Dimitra in every PFS, and I can rebuild Yasmin for PFS, so that is also not a real consideration.
My vote goes to continue with the next module and drop PFS. A module has more continuity and structure in it then a bunch of loose scenario's.
GM Derek W |
Thanks for the input guys! Not sure it will really come down to having to choose, but my work routine gets yoinked around a lot more than I thought. I may end up looking for a new job...
That said, my boss is on vacay until the 2nd, so I can sneak in a bit more posting during the next few days at least ;-)
Yasmin |
Derek, how do you want to deal with us having levelled during the day? I used 2 spells and 1 arcane point. Should I calculate my new spells per day and total arcane points per day and subtract the used abilities?
GM Derek W |
Work is just KILLING me right now - I'll get a makeshift map up probably on Thursday. Very sorry guys. Big deadline and all, and my current job actually DOESN'T allow me to work overtime. So it's good and bad.
GM Derek W |
Ok, my home internet has been down.Posting qickly from pbo.e. Can. You. Guys roll init for me
Darian D'Tanquil |
As for Angus getting up and having an AoO, he does not also get tripped again.
Trip: When a prone character stands up and provokes an attack of opportunity, can I use that attack to trip the character again?
No. The attack of opportunity is triggered before the action that triggered it is resolved. In this case, the target is still prone when the attack of opportunity occurs (and you get the normal bonuses when making such an attack). Since the trip combat maneuver does not prevent the target's action, the target then stands up.
GM Derek W |
Ah, also very nice! But I do remember having the "trip-cycle" discussion with someone before, so it's good to know the rule. Of course, the beastie will still get his turn...BTW this is a CR 5 encounter, so it counts as "epic" for you guys. Depending on how the module runs, you could have tackled this quest as level 3's as well. Still, it should be winnable with just a little luck turning back your way.
Nátulcien Ar-Feiniel |
Everyone with a bladed weapon should get a whetstone and use it before going to bed each night, so you get a +1 to damage on your first attack with the weapon (doesn't stack with a magic weapon).
Nat is buying a masterwork backpack, a dagger, finding a stick to use as a club, and a whetstone. I would think the spear and the dagger count as blades for the purposes of the whetstone; GM Derek, do you agree?
GM Derek W |
The very front of these caves have no map really. It's ready to go, and I'll link when you need it.
Angus the Tenderizer |
Hello everyone,
I must first off, apologize for the delay in getting this posted, it has been a rough few weeks and gaming took a low priority. I could give a number of reasons, but what it boils down to is that I’m stepping away from the Paizo site for a while, at least until my life settles down, perhaps longer.
RPing with many of you has been enjoyable, and for those I just started playing with, I wish it could have been longer. For games I’m a PC, feel free to bot or remove my PC however you see fit. For those I am GMing, I leave it up to you to decide if you want to find a replacement or let the game die.
If anyone is interested in a more detailed explanation of what’s going on, feel free to PM me. I may not divulge every personal detail, but I could provide a bit more to those I have spent so much time with.
Sorry
GM Derek W |
Ok, so I just moved you to the next room as there was no danger. But before we go any farther into the caves, do you want to add a player now? We could also wait until the caves are finished and add someone at that point.
The adventure *should* work fine with 4 PCs, but it's up to all of you.
Yasmin |
We lack a bit in pure offensive power if we go on without Angus in these caves, but shouldn't we be fine without him? Might cost us some more healing power, but we have enough of that.
In other words, I prefer to do the caves without him and try to recruit another meat shield capable fighter after that.
GM Derek W |
Sounds good. I can do a GMPC of him for this section. He'll hang back and lend a hand in combat, but all decision-making, skill checks, etc. will be up to you guys.
Giovanni Cicero BrokenCrown |
Nat,
Entangling Curse (Su): The shaman can choose to
entangle a creature within 30 feet. The target is entangled
for a number of rounds equal to the shaman’s Charisma
modifier (Ref lex negates). Once a creature is affected by
this hex, it cannot be targeted by the hex for 1 day.
Nátulcien Ar-Feiniel |
Hey so I have a RL friend who is wanting to get into play-by-posts and I told her about how we just lost a player in this one. Would you consider allowing her to make a character for this campaign? She's a really good RPer and knows the game system pretty well.
Giovanni Cicero BrokenCrown |
Giovanni smiles at both the Ladies in the group.
Gallantly sweeping out wide his voluminous feathered hat, he dramatically bows low to each Nat and Yasmin.
Don't doubt that I will welcome yet another beautiful Lady to our group. I believe that there is enough of me to go around!
Giovanni then winks at Derek!
GM Derek W |
Yes, please feel free to invite her! We can pause a moment while she gets her alias sorted out. I'm OK with most anything, build-wise.
Same rules as we used (20 point buy, no traits, bonus feat for everyone). Starting at level 2, obviously.
