Glancing to the southeast, Gelgish points directly at a large cat trying to sneak up on the party. Look sharp, big cat approaching!he shouts to the group.

Chavana moces up toward Gelgish just in time to see a large feline approaching and not too far behind a goblin with a flaming sword and a wand.

The panther rushes at Gelgish to attack.

It tries to bite Gelgish but his armor stops any real damage. The goblin moves up and casts a spell, soon after the roots and brush around you start to almost come to life trying to grab hold of you.

Seeing the great cat arrive pushes Ulrich a little to far, and the Bear's growling laugh erupts as he tries to maintain some sanity through his haze of rage.

The Bear laughs as he shrugs off the reaching tendrils of vegitation reaching for him and he moves towards the goblin who dared try to inflict magic upon him swinging his curved blade at the diminutive figure.

He does provoke an AoO from the cat.

Ulrich circles around the corner of the brambles, easily avoiding the vines and roots getting a hold of him. The large cat swipes at him as he moves by but isn't able to connect. Reaching the goblin, he cuts down into the goblin and while it leaves a significant injury the goblin stands strong prepared to continue the fight.

Gelgish attempted to line up a heavy swing into the big cat, but the sudden eruption of vegetation through off his aim. The heavy ball of his dorn durger struck the ground with a heavy thud. Wanting to be free of the plants' grasp, the dwarf tumbled his way forward towards The Bear and past the feline.

Darpan moves to the edge of the writhing mass of plant material and fires two arrows at the large cat.

Gelgish avoids the grasping vines and roots and manages to get past the large feline who seemed to still be pre-occupied with it's attempted attack on Ulrich as he moved by. Chavana does not have the luck of the others as the roots take hold of her constricting her movement. Darpan moves to get sight on the feline before taking two shots at it, one of which does strike the large cat.

The cat turns from Chavana and goes after the others who threaten it's master.

The cat bites into Ulrich's leg and drag's him to the ground. Ulrich is Prone

The goblin grins as he brings his weapon down on the half-orc.

1) I think the cat needs to make a separate trip attack as a free action, it does not just use the attack roll. If he is not prone, the goblin does not hit (Ulrich's adjusted AC will be 19 with Crowd Control. His adjusted CMD will be 24). 2) Chavana should get a AoO against the cat as it moved and attacked. I will await the ruling on this before posting Ulrich's turn as it could make a big difference.

Ah I had always been under the impression the trip was rolled into the initial attack. Thanks! As for Chavana she was actually a 10 ft from it as it was attacking Gelgish previously

Not sure which, if any, of our current foes are still going after Ulrich and Darpan's last hits.

Sensing a turn in the battle, Gelgish pulls in the slack on his weapon while sliding in behind the goblin. Hoping it is preoccupied with The Bear, the dwarf attempts to end his enemy.

Ulrich brings down his sword on the goblin nearly cutting it's arm off but the goblin still stands, obviously much more prepared for a fight than the others you had previously encountered. Chavana finally manages to break free of the vines and roots.

Chavana not sure if you planned to move or not note that if you stay inside the area you would need to make another save at the end of the goblins turn.

Darpan moves into the tangled mess of roots and vines but easily avoids being hampered by them, taking a shot at the feline. The arrow flies true connecting right through its gut. Gelgish moves to the other side of the goblin, but even with Ulrich as a distraction Gelgish isn't able to connect with the little bugger.

The large cat moves up steps up behind Ulrich and attacks.

After Chavana managed to get out of the tangles of roots she moved up in support of Ulrich and before Gelgish had a chance to move she brought her weapon down on the feline, dropping it to the ground unmoving.

Chavana, seeing Ulrich injured, takes the time to cast Cure Light wounds on him, following immediately by casting Dancing Lantern and a healing burst for the rest of the party, omitting the cat and the Goblin.

Burst: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

And then the dancing lantern will last 3 hours. I am concernd that we will run out of light soon.

"That was unpleasant, and they are very strong within this place." Chavana says as the lantern bobs over her shield arm, extending her frown to give it a much more severe look.

Gelgish grunted in acknowledgement of Chavana's sentiments, but said nothing else. Instead, he searched the bodies of the cat and the goblin for valuables, then did the same in the room where the group fought the goblin dogs. Once complete, the dwarf prepared to follow behind The Bear into the next room.

Gelgish:
Nothing of worth in the goblin dog lair or any of the other newly found passages. However, on the goblin you find the following: potions of cure light wounds (2), two wands, very nice small leather armor, a sling, spear, and really nice cloak

After Gelgish looks around the only path not blocked or explored leads to the north.

Panting after the extended exersion, the Bear thanks Chavana warmly for the healing. "Those were tougher foes... glad you are hear to keep us going. We'd be dead without you."

Looking at the apparent northern and southern openings, the Bear says, "I suggest we head south for now... not as likely to leave enemies behind us."

@GM - I have Ulrich at full hp now, correct? Also what is the green looking shrub in the northern area?

Following his search, Gelgish rejoins the group while showing the rest all the items he found. Might be magic here, he says to Chavana after Ulrich speaks, hopeful that the cleric might have someway of identifying the items. A bit wistfully he adds, Might want The Bear the hang on to the healing potions. Figure he might need them.

Yes everyone is full health. The green shrub was just the marker for the center of the entangle spell

Heading south leads into a dead end. A tangle of vines hang from the thorny ceiling of this chamber, each suspending a clattering collection of bird skulls, rib bones, teeth, and other bits of gruesome decor. In a few places the vines droop all the way to the floor. A large nest of nettles and thorny vines sits to the south, a halo of half-eaten dead birds and rats indicating that whatever sleeps there eats in its bed.

Finding nothing, Ulrich quickly moves to join Darpan - trying to keep the group together.

Heading north you see a rope bridge spans the gulf between the cliff and a roundish, flat-topped island sixty-some feet to the north. Thick patches of nettles and briars grow here and there atop the island, but its most impressive feature is a wooden one-story stockade. Two thirty-foot-tall watchtowers guard the stockade’s southern facade. The rope bridge itself is made of hairy rope and thick wooden planks; the whole thing creaks and sways in the wind above the churning surf eighty feet below. Across the way you see a group of goblins and their dogs. The goblins seem to be engaged in something and the goblin dogs wonder about occasionally barking at whatever the goblins are doing.

Gelgish chomps on an old cigar he pull out of one of the myriad pockets in his outfit and glances up at Ulrich while nodding. That's a damn fine idea. Darpan shoots 'em, they come to us, and we hold the bridge. Looking back at Darpan he adds, ready when you are, monk.

@GM: a few questions: 1)how far away are the goblins?, 2) are there any goblins on the watchtowers?, 3) do any of the goblins visible have bows? and 4) is there cover near our side of the bridge?

The furthest goblins you can see are 75ft. The eastern tower is 75 ft and western tower is 85ft in it's further south facing corner. There are no goblins that you can see in the watchtowers, but with the railing you would only see them if they were standing. All of the goblins have bows. On the map, anything behind the red line is partial cover, behind the green line full cover.

Gelgish squints as he looks carefully at the arrayed enemies. That's a lot of goblins with bows, but I trust Darpan to best them if he doesn't have to stand in the open. Assuming Darpan can locate a location where the goblins would have cover to hit him if the goblins chose to use bows instead of charge The rest of us will stay back a bit, out of sight. You open fire on them and let us know when they are half way over the bridge towards us. The Big Guy and I will charge on out then. Sound good?

If so, Gelgish will move back a bit and encourage the others to do the same

Moving forward so he is partly shielded from the goblins, Darpan lofts 2 arrows at one of the goblins (#3).

Darpan launches two arrows followed by Chavana taking a shot her self. One of Darpans arrows strikes the lead goblin through the neck and it drops to the ground grasping at its throat. The goblins look around and barely see where the arrows came from but they start shrieking and yelling and start to move toward the fort.
