Salvia Hardheart |
I'm assuming right now that Salvia is unaware of the noises and the boxes under the seat, given her low Perception roll. If she knew, she's probably be right there, checking it out. Does Ulfgard let her know he hears something, or would he keep it to himself?...either way is okay, but just thought I'd explain why my character's doing so little.
Ulfgard Strongarm |
After changing his clothes Ulfgard gestures fast to the others, pointing to the box. He ties a bit of rope to it to open it and gives the others some time to prepare. After a collective nod he pulls the box open.
Grandma Mable |
Grandma Mable watches over the others and waits to see what if anything well happen.
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter |
Ragnarok seems almost ashamed as he turns from the carriage with a curt. "I think there's someone hiding in the boxes beneath the seat, but I need to talk to the owl before it flies away. I'll be right back" He glances over at Ryksa. I sure could use a small rodent he thinks but decides not to even ask the young witch. Instead he walks slowly towards the owl trying to approach it close enough to talk.
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
He says a few words in giant and then turns to the owl.
Casting Speak with Animals
Ryksa the White |
Ryksa watches Ragnarok keenly. That's the local animal whisperer for you. I'll have to ask his help later when me and Halina start getting a larger number of lemmings...
As she watches him, she keeps scanning the horizon. Words of arcane power slowly slip past her lips, hoping no one notices them as she casts detect magic.
Grandma Mable |
Grandma Mable is shocked whenRagnarok begins to talk to the bird, she begins to wonder about his sanity and then the bird talks back to him! Grandma is now wondering about her own sanity.
Ryksa the White |
Ryksa looks to the group, a worried face seen plainly on her face. "I have a few tricks I've picked up over the years similar to Sciath here. He's right, but there is more. Cold. Magical cold. I suggest we... I don't know. But be prepared. Stay alert." She looks towards the village. Stay safe sister...
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter |
Ragnarok says to Ulfgard as mention of necromancy is made. "The owl says there's evil as well. Some humanoids threw them into the carriage"
He continues talking to the bird.
GM DSP |
Crunched away in the powder water. Don't know.
Ulfgard pulls his rope and the seats open. Instantly, black, frost-bitten hands like those of a child, grasp the lip of the box.
Before your eyes, two black-faced, frozen halfling caravan guards clamber out of the carriage!
KN: Religion to know more. You guys have the initiative. Do it to it.
Map updated.
Grandma Mable |
Grandma Mable studies these creatures trying to determine what they are.
knowledge religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Grandma Mable |
Grandma Mable warns the others "These are nastly little critters are zombies corrupted by cold. They dont care much for blunt weapons like maces. Best to use something like that on them."
She then smiles as she tries to trip one with her spear.
trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
I should be able to reach them from where I am at so if I fall I am still out of their reach :)
I do believe one zombie is on the ground everyone hitting it should get a +4 for prone, I believe.
Sciath Nalis |
Not having a blunt weapon to hand Sciath steps forward and brings his sword down at the small Zombie
Using Destructive Smite for +1 damage
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 = 12
Furrowing his brow slightly, he shouts "She means they don't like being hit hit by hammers, dwarf."
Grandma Mable |
Seeing the fallen Zombie Grandma Mable takes a grandma leap for joy.
"Hot diggity dog it worked" she exclaims giggling like a little girl.
I assume this is a free action if it is not I will count it as my move action for next round
Salvia Hardheart |
The idea of clocking these unnatural creatures with her cooking pot crosses Salvia's mind, but she decides to use her short sword instead. She steps toward the downed halfling and takes a swing...
ATTACK = 1d20 + 4 = 9 + 4 = 13
If she hits... DAMAGE = 1d6 = 5
Ryksa the White |
Taken aback by the sudden appearance of the Halflings, Ryksa panics. Time and time, she'd been more or less able to 'hide' her magic, but panicking, her hand quickly rises and arcane utterances burst forth. "Frigidus te!" From her raised hand, something light blue burst forth towards the closest undead.
Atk vs Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Ray of Frost: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter |
Ragnarok curses under his breath at Grandma's revelation. The only thing I have that can hurt them is sling bullets. he realizes. "Ulfgard, use the hammer!" he cries and channels the force of verdant nature into the dwarf. "Grow, and be strong" he intones.
Rangnarok takes a full round action to cast Enlarge Person on Ulfgard. It makes his weapons bigger also.
GM DSP |
Sciath opens a what would have been a fatal wound in of the creatures were it living, but Salvia's strike bounced off, unable to cut the frozen flesh.
The dead man at Salvia's feet wriggles around, trying to bit the girl's ankle...
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
... but Salvia twists away in time to avoid the gnashing teeth.
The other creature throws itself at Sciath: teeth champing...
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 for 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
...and it bites deeply into the man's neck! Hot, steaming blood runs red-black to drip shining rubies on the virgin snow.
Sciath takes 9 damage. Yikes!
Grandma Mable |
Grandma Mable takes out her mace and drops it on the ground then quickly limps towards Sciath.
"Hold on Sciath I am coming. Ragnarok use my mace." she says
Stupid limp I need to move faster. Grandma thinks
Ryksa the White |
Ryksa mumbles under her breath, and her left eye grows wide. "You shouldn't hurt my friends!" Doing the Evil Eye Hex on the one nearest Ryksa (non-prone one), making it have a -2 to it's attacks for 7 rounds. A successful Will save of 15 will reduce that time to 1 round.
Ulfgard Strongarm |
Time to face my hammer
Dropping the kukri Ulfgard reaches behind himself and gripps his Longhammer. Taking a 5 foot back, he raises his longhammer and swings it down on the prone undead.
Attack/Damage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 182d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 5) + 7 = 15
+1BAB, 3 Str -1 PA +4 attacking a prone, but another question why am I large in the map? Did someone call enlarge person on me and I missed it?
Ulfgard Strongarm |
I didn't know druids could cast that so I honestly missed it
" OI WHATS HAPPENING TO ME? What do those beasties do to me? But after a moment he enjoys the new size and chuckles quite happily while swinging the new extra large weapon!
New weapon damage is now 3d6+9
Ragnarok Fimbulwinter |
Pleased that his attempt to enlarge Ulfgard worked, Ragnarok starts to make his way around the carriage towards Grandma's mace. I never tried that on anyone other than myself. he thinks. His thoughts are interrupted as the undead monster rips into Sciath's carotid artery. Not quite being able to make it to him, he once again channels the verdant energy of the woods, this time it is Ragnarok himself that grows, giving him the reach to touch Sciath. Sciath's wounds begin to knit.
Every possible move action I could try to get to Sciath seemed 5' short. So he takes a move action to get to where he is one the map. A swift action to grow himself to large size for 1 round. I'd like to grow away from the cold zombies otherwise the next action will provoke. Then a standard action to cast Cure Light on Sciath.
Cure Light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
As the healing energy flows out of him, Ragnarok feels strangely fatigued, having pushed himself to his spellcasting limit.
Sciath Nalis |
With a quick nod of thanks to Ragnarok Sciath presses his attack, hoping he can cut it up heavily enough to make it count.
Destructive Smite again
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Damage: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13
Sorry, been a busy weekend
