"Hey, so if we want to just not kill the thing for a while I could let Chaucer out! He likes to shout and is pretty good at it?" Seren adds in helpfully as they walk along, then adds more quietly to herself. "Also, I don't care what those two say, I don't want to get near something that grows extra heads when you chop it... right? Right. Let the big guy do it so we don't get eaten."

She will, once or twice, attempt to wander away from the group as they head for the coliseum, distracted by various street attractions until either the party or an unseen guide gets her attention and lures her back into focus.

Ursahla is really only skilled with piercing weapons, so not really any good at severing heads. Her best actions are going to be buffing you and debuffing the hydra.

If possible, Ursahla will use a charge from her wand of heightened awareness before the battle begins. She will use it for the +4 initiative buff.

Do we have enough time to make any purchases? I wouldn't mind picking up a scroll of Cauterizing Weapon for Rogar's sword.

Seren steps out into the arena and gets a good look at the monstrosities they're suppose to fight for fun. Her face immediately takes on an expression that screams 'No way' and she makes a clearly unhappy sound. She's about to start trying to crawl her way past the others back to safety before something grabs a hold of her and she whips about. Once her eyes roll back and her skin goes pale she begins to parade behind Rogar and Ursahla.

She dances about like a broadway showman on a stage, pulling out a wand to use a baton as she addresses the crowd. And the voice that peels forth belongs to the deep lungs of a herald, smothering any faint complaints from the girl's own voice. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Chaucer. You have come for a show, and that is what I shall be give you! Prepare yourselves for death-defying footwork, the blood and sweat of battle, and a test of man versus beast!" Seren throws her arms up in the air, then a showy step takes her close to Ursahla where the little medium's hands can come down on the swashbuckler's shoulders, healing her.

Free action to dance my marshal spirit! Standard to activate a wand of CLWs and a 5ft adjust to use it on Ursahla.

She throws her hands into very exaggerated, stylized arcane gestures, her own voice calling out in Elven loudly, each arcane syllable gathering in intensity. As she finishes the incantation, a sizzling green arrow appears in the air before her and streaks out to strike one of the injured hydra's head-stumps.

I wonder, with their heads being susceptible to being lopped off at the neck, do they do more to protect them then they do to protect the soft spots on their bodies...

To test the theory, Ursahla walks up to the still whole hydra and she traces the lines of its necks to the point where they meet. Drawing in, she smashes that part of

Ursahla smashes her way into the hydra's solar plexus while Ansha seals shut one of the Tri-Dra's neck-stumps! 1d3 ⇒ 1 Unfortunately both of the other stumps split, fall to the ground, and come hissing back, bringing the red-tinted hydra up to 7 heads!

Reveling it its new heptaginous beauty, the hydra plunges its many many teeth down at Ursahla

"Rogar, my boy! That display was marvelous, but you may want to see about putting down one of the beasts to give us all breathing room!" Seren continues to cavort about with exaggerated movements and poses behind the front line. When Ursahla takes the series of blows she does the girl gets control of herself back just a moment to recoil in a wince. "Oy, uh... you alright there sneaky girl?"

"She's fine!" The spirit's persona takes back over and points the wand at the crowd for a prop, seeing it can't do enough good counter those attacks. "Blood and action on both sides, the crowd loves the dramatics!"

Rogar crouches beneath the swaying heads of the hydra and smashes through its trunk. The beast keens from its many mouths, and collapses to the ground

I'll get Malsaire soon once Chaucer gets out... okay?" Seren's softer voice peeps out as a bizarre melody floating through and accenting the barker's cant.

1. Slumber Hex--(Su): A witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to fall into a deep, magical sleep, as per the spell sleep. The creature receives a Will save to negate the effect. If the save fails, the creature falls asleep for a number of rounds equal to the witch’s level. This hex can affect a creature of any HD. The creature will not wake due to noise or light, but others can rouse it with a standard action. This hex ends immediately if the creature takes damage. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.

Ansha grits her teeth and gives up on trying to out-showman the ghost possessing Seren when she sees how bloodied the pirate has become. She snatches a scroll from the scroll case at her side and unfurls it. Brandishing it before her, she begins to incant the arcane words on the page. As she finishes the incantation, she takes a step backward and the scroll crumbles to dust in her hands, a great billow of mist pouring out from the dust as it falls, spreading out to envelop the party. Move action to retrieve her scroll of obscuring mist, then standard action to cast it and a five-foot-step.

Loudly enough that only the party, including Rogar, can hear, she calls, "Don't forget we have to make this fight last a few more seconds!"

So she flounces over the hydra, drawing a light mace as she goes. "It appears, good people, that even this beast has fainted at the grandeur of our champion! Shall we wake him!?"

The spirit continues its display by placing a hand to Seren's ear as if listening for a response they don't wait for, the mace lashing out to clock one of the hydra's heads against the temple. "On with the show!"

Ansha peeks around the corner of her pillar and notes that the pyrohydra is back in action. She begins another incantation, her hands weaving in arcane gestures as she gathers magical energy around herself. A moment later, the last word of the incantation spills from her lips with cold finality and a small bead of fire streaks from her outstretched hand to explode and envelop the pyrohydra in a great ball of flame.

Casting fireball so that it catches the hydra but not Rogar or Seren. She's aware that the thing is immune, but is going for creating a spectacle.
