Could you explain the benefit of succes vs. Weakness. I think about sure succes vs potential easier successses in the future?
Our goal is to get successes, so information is only better than a success if it gets us two successes later on. Let's say the knowledge provides a +4 bonus. That means that we need to fail two future checks by 4 or less. If we fail by 5 or more, or already succeeded, then the information wasn't actually helpful.
My money is on the sure success now.

I had the same gut feeling

Great work Guardian Angel of the Halflings.
GM Crunch |
Indeed! All we need is Riceak's Impress and Analyze/Influence checks and we can move on to the third round.
GM Crunch |
Apologies for the wait guys, there are some things I need to settle game-wise, I can tell you more once they are done.
Riceak Hawklight |
Due to my treatment by the DM I have decided to withdraw from this Scenario. I hope that the rest of you have fun and I wish you luck with members of this group and the GM.
GM Crunch |
Fortunately for the both of us, not to mention everyone else, we are entitled to think and speak our minds to a certain degree. Beautiful thing, 'innit?
Does anyone want to know what just happened? I assume you're a mite confused, and I want to tell the story, get it out of only my head, you know.
Riceak Hawklight |
Both sides can tell their sides of the story, Crunch.
Someone complained about my lack of substance on posts to the DM rather than talking about it with me first. The DM sided with that person and after some discussion, some of which I took to be intimidation from the GM, I decided it was best to leave. Now the GM is sore because I have filed a complaint against him for the way I was treated by him.
He likes free speech until it is used to defend one's self.
GM Crunch |
Why no, I am not trying to suppress you, thank you for asking. Good to know.
It is fortunate, is it not, that we are able to believe whatever we want.
IronHelixx |
It would be best if this was handled privately. I know there are hurt feeling here, but this is not the best place for that discussion.
Hilary, aka GM Hmm, will work with you guys to resolve what needs to be done from this point forward.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Fair enough, I apologize for that. Mistakes were without a doubt made on both sides. Where would it be better to take this, PMs, somewhere else?
Also, should the posts made within the hour be deleted?
GM Crunch |
I like to think I am championing that particular side. Also, if you would like to further discuss this, perhaps it would be more prudent to do in PM form, as we were instructed to.
I assume the anonymous party will reveal themselves if and when they deem it necessary, and no sooner.
GM Crunch |
In this sordid case, I fail to see the difference.
I will now cease to respond to your posts unless you see fit to contact me via PM, or they happen to catch my fancy enough to make me break my promise. But in all seriousness, PM me if you would like to talk.
GM Hmm |
My apologies for all that, if you want to know more I can talk to you or, to avoid my potential bias, send you a transcript of my PM conversation with Riceak. Anyway, let's move on from that as quickly as humanoidly possible.
I respectfully request that you do not share the transcript of the PM conversation with the players. Let's not make this any more heated than it needs to be. We are working to resolve this. Thank you.
GM Hmm |
This issue is now resolved, but if you need further assistance let us know.
Thanks!

Quick note: I use a Linux OS (Peppermint OS), instead of Windows.
I have a keyboard switcher, and quickly switch to the Spanish keyboard
configuration for a lot of those characters.
That way if I type Shift-{ vowel, I'll get â, ê, etc.
The really 'fun' one is the Polytonic Greek keyboard: « χαίρετε, ὦ φιλαί! »
I took a year of ancient Greek in Uni. That's the only reason I know that (a bit).
I also use the GNOME character map cut and paste for less common letters
from other keyboards.
The other thing that helps is I have lots of this stuff I use in a text
file that I just cut and paste. I do that a lot.

Is there a sage present for the scarab sages faction goal?
GM Crunch |
Both Cyran and Vayde count for the FJC goal. Trying to recruit them is not an action in the bid, so feel free to do that whenever.
GM Crunch |
With the scenario starting to draw to a close, I am preparing Chronicle sheets. I'm not sure what it will be yet, but I intend to run a 1-5 Classic scenario shortly after this one, likely Trial by Machine, The Segang Expedition, or The Horn of Aroden. If anyone here would like a spot, feel free to ask.
GM Crunch |
I have some other PDFs on hand if you'd like, such as the Heresy of Man series and a few others.
GM Crunch |
Thanks, Hakotep! I noticed your Portent's Peril, I had to be shifted from my table at the last minute when I was going to play it face-to-face a while ago, so I'll take my chances with the lottery.
Magga, I will start preparing Heresy of Man in a few days, will also open recruitment at that point, where you're welcome to a reserved spot. I don't think it's one of the killer scenarios, but it's tough, no doubt about it.
Electra Firemind |
I would love to join again. Classic means no core right? Then heresy of man would also be one I could join
GM Crunch |
Indeed. Well, you can still have a character built Core-only in Classic, but I'm sure you get the idea. I can also reserve you a spot.
Edit: Granta, is Shandra level 5? I just remembered the scenario is a 5-9 and not a 3-7.
Khellek the historian |
Unfortunately I have done the three suggested in Classic. I have also played the heresy of man series (there were three were there not?) I recall they were pretty tough in places.
GM Crunch |
I actually haven't played Part III yet, but yeah, Part I and II have pretty tough encounters at some points.
GM Crunch |
GAH! He's here, he knows! Take cover!
Also, to anyone who can help me with them, I have some questions regarding the reporting of the scenario.
GM Crunch |
Well, first, I'm unsure of how to actually delegate credit to the players, there is isn't a mention or particular box in the Event Reporter thingy. I've been looking for a field for handles or aliases to go into.
Then, there are two columns next to the scenarios played as part of the event, one labeled RPG and the other PFC. I'm not sure about the distinction, although I guessed they might involve the difference between Core and Classic.
Also, there's the event schedule part, which I can't tell if it's as straightforward as it seems.
Magga |
Create the event and select the scenarios that you will be reporting. I reuse the same event for 3-4 months. Then save the event and go back to it (the site makes that cumbersome). There should now be a "report" button. Click on that, and let me know if you have further questions.
And yes, those columns are core vs. classic.
Khellek the historian |
Noo
RPG is classic.
PFC is Core.
GM Crunch |
Good to know, because it said three of you (I don't recall which) already player this at "Feral's Push to Five Stars" event, so I figured I did something wrong. Also, it all deleted itself.
GM Crunch |
Okay, I think I did it all right this time, it's showing up under my sessions GM'd, tell me if it isn't showing up under yours played. Until then, it's time to relax and start working on Chronicle sheets.
